Catchin' Some Fun Summer Memories!

Well summer is in full throttle around here. June was filled with 3 or 4 ball games a week! Lindsey really enjoyed playing on a community softball team , and did a great job! She really improved over the course of the month. Spencer's team only lost one game the whole season, did awsome in the playoffs, and ended up champions! You've never felt such excitement in the air during that last game, and when they won, their faces were just beaming....the each got a trophy, and appeared in the newspaper. It was a very neat time fore Spencer! The end of June, we enjoyed a Johnson Family Reunion in Inkom with lots of Ryans Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Great Grandma J. The kids had fun riding horses and playing on a big waterslide. We all enjoyed Ryan's dutch oven meal!! Ryan's parents and brother and sister stayed with us in Rexburg, and we had a fun time! We enjoyed a hike to Wind Cave....we almost got to the top, but got rained out.

In July, Lindsey and Spencer both celebrated their birthdays. Lindsey asked for a BB gun, a mountain bike, and a pocketknife. Boy, was her daddy excited to shop for her this year! She took a friend to the new American Girl movie that just came out, and just thought it was so cool. Spencer had a fun afternoon with his two best friends, Austin and Jacob. We all enjoyed his oreo mint chocolate carmel ice cream cake he helped make!

For the 4th of July, we decided to do a quick over night backpacking trip to see if we could catch some fish. We had a nice hike, and had fun identifying wildflowers. Ryan did catch 2 fish...and I learned to clean them! We also had a fun time fishing at Beaver Dick park a week later when our friends the Ericksons came for a visit. Spencer was the one with the luck that time!

We just got back from a fun trip home up to Pullman/Moscow. We had such a great time enjoying friends and family. Ryan's parents took us to the fun Aquatic Center in Moscow, with lots of fun slides and places for the kids to spash. We also canoed at the south end of lake Cour d'Alene. Some how Jackson was allowed on MY canoe, much to my dismay...however, he behaved quite well, and didn't jump out and capsize me with little Dallin like I was certain he would do!! We had fun with my mom and Uncle Derek, Aunt Aubree, and Allison and her kids at the Science Center in Pullman. We spent the whole afternoon there, and the kids were enthralled. We were also able to go out to good ol' Johnson and take a look at the trusty treehouses we used to climb, and had a fun visit with our "neighbor" Patty Druffel. We were able to have all 8 of us siblings there this last weekend! We all made it up Kamiak Butte, and found the tree where we buried coins years ago. The kids all gathered round, and dug and dug, and we found the things that had been buried! It was great fun to all be together.

Lindsey and Kami had some fun girl time with their Aunts. Spencer was absolutely thrilled to be tall enough to ride uncle Jeffs motorcycle. He had so much fun zooming around and around the pasture. All the kids enjoyed rides from uncle Darren on the tractor!

On the way home, we split the trip in half. We drove 4 hours to Missoula, then pitched a tent at the memorable Como Lake. (That's where we camped last spring, and Ryan got so sick from an infected tick). So that last picture is of everybody on the same rock we took a picture on last year. Well, what a great summer we are having, and now that Ryan is out for several more weeks, it is going to be even greater!!

I couldn't figure out how to delete this second slide show, so here it is at the bottom, in case you needed it again.
