December 12th we boarded the Polar Express. The children were ready to travel in their pajamas. Before boarding, lots of carols were sung to get everyone into the spirit.
Once the train was boarded, the hot chocolate and cookies were served by Santa's Elves.
The movie shown was narrated by Mr Polar Express himself, Tom Hanks, and enjoyed by all.
During the journey lots of letters were written to Santa so they could be delivered before the trip ended.
At the last stop, we picked up special conductor Kelly DeHaaun and and his special guests the West Jordan Concert Choir. They serenaded all the passengers on the train.
A huge Thank You goes to our Activities Committee for another wonderful Christmas journey!

Festival of Trees
Festival of Trees was Dec 3-6th at the South Towne Expo Center. All the proceeds are donated to the Primary Childrens Hospital.
This year 2 ward members worked on trees that were in the Festival.
Heather Godfrey did a small pink tree in memory of her mother who passed away from Breast Cancer.
Shayla Poulson's school worked on a tree and had an article in the Salt Lake Tribune. The picture caption reads. "Jordan Valley School instructor Kathy Hintze helps student Shayla Poulson string beads on a pipe cleaner to make a candy cane ornament. The school is donating a tree, with ornaments made by the students, to the Festival of Trees, a four-day fundraiser for the Primary Children’s Medical Center. All the students at Jordan Valley have severe disabilities, and many receive medical services at the hospital."
