Rita Carmo (n.1970, Leiria) é licenciada em Design de Comunicação pela ESBAL. Fotógrafa residente do jornal Blitz desde 1992. Já publicou fotografias no Expresso, Visão, Ler, DIF, UP…; Melody Maker, Daily Mail (Reino Unido), Rockin’On e Snoozer Mag (Japão), Bizz (Brasil). Em 1995 forma a dupla Espanta Espíritos com António Afonso. Em 1999, é um dos 5 fotógrafos presentes na Fotobiografia dos 20 anos dos Xutos & Pontapés. Em 2003 é autora dos retratos dos 15 Criadores de Moda no livro “15 Histórias de Hábitos” de Cristina L. Duarte (Ed.Quimera) e ainda edita pela Assírio & Alvim o álbum “altas-luzes”, onde reúne cerca de 200 imagens que retratam momentos únicos da história das actuações ao vivo em Portugal e de sessões fotográficas com artistas. Desta edição resultou uma exposição que já esteve patente em quase todo o país. Em Junho de 2005, a convite da Alcatel Portugal e da Numero, expõe no 4ºFestival Portugais no Fnac Forum Les Halles em Paris. Em 2008, no âmbito do Congresso Feminista, expõe na Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisboa. Em Julho de 2009, a convite da Everything is New, expõe no Festival Alive parte do seu trabalho relacionado com concertos ao vivo.
