Ahhh Fooseball

Yes yes I know it's been a while since I posted on this darn thing. A lot has been going on in my world, and it's about time I get back on this thing. I started working full time again and that pretty much consumes my life.

I've been trying to keep myself busy, outside of work, so I bought season tickets this year for the Niners, so my Sundays are consumed with tailgating and football! Wahoo! I've reached a point in my life where I need to do what makes Rish happy, and football is one of them...unless of course it involves fights and a shooting at the game. I went to the Niner-Raider game a few weeks back and sadly I witnessed a girl fight in the parking lot (which later aired on youtube) and the section next to me had some sort of fight that was, again, captured on youtube for your viewing pleasure. C'mon now people, it's a football game. Mind you, I'm pretty sure the people who were fighting were not real fans, merely people who wanted to cause trouble, but that ruins it for all of us, real Niners and real Raider fans. Now we're not having an exhibition game next year because of all this. I know real fans don't stand for this. I mean c'mon, a guy in a Raiders shirt shot a guy in a shirt that said F*** the Niners, what, do you think he just saw "Niners" on his shirt and went ballistic? It turned out to be gang related and the shooter didn't even have tickets to the game. And the girl fight in the parking lot? I saw a sea of red shirts... really?

This past weekend, it was the Niners versus the Texans, there was 1 incident I heard of, and that was some guys that got busted for smoking pot at the game and they didn't put up a fuss and were totally cool about it. (They must have been under the influence...hee hee)

Please understand, I am not blaming Niner fans, nor am I blaming Raider fans for what happened at the battle of the bay, again, I interacted with people who had on Raiders gear and it was all good. Yes, it's a rivalry, so there will be some trash talk, but no need to go beating up on someone or shoot someone over it. I also had some chicks in Raiders shirts come up to me and politely ask if they could punch my friend Jason because he was wearing a Pats jersey. I had to decline their offer as he was wearing a Bills jersey, any real fan could tell you that...at least they asked ;-)

While my Niners may not go to the Superbowl this year, perhaps we can get "Luck"y next year... LOL and with that, I'm out...

I hate being sick... however...

As many of you know, I'm a big fan of James Bond. I am sick, stuck in my bed and what else on but a James Bond marathon on BBC... Happiness, but with a cost....you know those really annoying Sham Wow commercials with that cracked out sales guy? Here's a pic...

So I'm here in bed, watching my Bond marathon and lo and behold a commercial for Slap Chop, which is the next latest and greatest chopping device...it stars, who else? Vince the Sham Wow guy...What makes me laugh is that he says, "you're gonna love my nuts...." with such a straight face...I had tears in my eyes... it was friggin awesome!!! I know, I know... I have the maturity level of a 12 year old...but its soooo funny!!!
I hate being sick. I feel like my head is in a cloud and my nose won't stop running. I got a Jamba Juice with some vitamins and stuff in it, but I still feel like hell. I need some very hot and spicy soup...Or McDonalds..I don't know why, that always makes me feel better when I'm sick, perhaps it's the grease or the fat...LOL... alas, I should go organize my playlists, cause you all know I'm on a mission to drop this weight!!!

DVR

I love my DVR (or T-faux as I like to call it). I love the fact you can fast forward the commercials and skip all that nonesene. What annoys the hell out of me is the fact that when we are watching something (for example 24) and I can multitask and watch the show, my other half will be watching it (not doing anything else, just watching TV) and then all of a sudden he'll yell at the tv and proceed to rewind it 5 minutes back to watch it again. Seriously, you've been watching this, I've been blogging or paying bills and you have to rewind it? Wow... ADD are we?
In other news, my mom has insisted we plan a trip for our 5 year wedding anniversary and go somewhere. She has graciously offered to pitch in for our trip and I'm just floored! She told us to decide if we want to go to Maui (where we got married) or go to France. After careful consideration, we've decided to spend our anniversary in the most romatic city in the world, Paris. We've been wanting to visit Jer's mom since she moved out there and I've been wanting to go back to France. I was very apprehensive about accepting my moms present, but she wants us to do something memorable for our 5 year anniversary. She told me for her 5 year anniversary with my dad, they bought the house. :) I am so excited! I have dusted off my elliptical and started working out on it, we've got a lot of walking to do in France!!!!

Please

I woke up this morning to the news talking about riots in Oakland, 25 cars were damaged, a McDonalds was burned down and other businesses damaged. Why? It was response to a shooting of an unarmed 22 old man who was out on New Years. A BART officer shot this young man, why? We don't know the answer, but seriously, do we need to respond to this by burning down cars and damaging property? Will that bring back Oscar Grant III? No. Will this speed up the investigation? No. What it will do is hinder a community. This is the time for people to come together and help those who have lost a son, a father, a friend. This is the time to question the actions of others. This is not the time nor is it ever the time to destroy your community. I know it's frustrating, and I know there alot of questions that need to be answered; but please, don't destroy your community. Violence doesn't solve the problem.

Here's your sign....

Please read the excerpt below from EW.com posted on CNN....

"...if Viacom can't reach a deal by midnight Wednesday that would keep Comedy Central, MTV, and its 18 other networks on Time Warner Cable systems, according to a report in The New York Times."

There was a scrolling message going across the bottom of those channels saying if you are a Time Warner Cable subscriber you will lose this channel, blah blah blah... how many people called in asking if we were removing these channels? Do you subscribe to Time Warner? No? D'uh..ugh... people must have started drinking early today....Everyone have a safe and fun New Years, we're actually going out tonight and we're staying over in the Bay Area.... Woooo!

Friday Night

Since I've moved up to BFE, I haven't really had a "late night", meaning I usually end up crashing at a friends house (thank you Jackie!) or my moms. Well, the other day, my close friend Jason, sends us a message that he wants to go out on Friday night for drinks in Campbell. I contemplate it considering that Jason lives in Boston and my other best friend, Melanie was going to be there (She lives outside of Reno). I decide to go as Jeremy had to go to Tahoe to help his uncle set up their washer/dryer (I know, what a good nephew). I had to stop over at my friend Jackies house before I headed out as Santa had a couple of things to drop off. I tried to get her to go, but alas, she had no sitter. :(
I drive over to Campbell around 8:45. Years ago, the night didn't start for us until about 10:30/11, and looking back on it, hell, we should have met up at 9! When I got there, I had rock star parking and our friends, Maggie and Brian had scored a little nook with a couch and loveseat (Our own VIP room, if you will!), yeah....people were jealous...we had the spot...
Now Maggie, is a fabulous woman. She has a take charge, no sh** kind of attitude which I love. It turns out that later in the evening when a couple of us had left for a few minutes, some guys asked her if the chairs we were using were taken. She told them yes, but yet, they had the audacity to ask the waitress who then, not knowing, took them and gave them to the guys who knew they were the chairs we were using. Maggie, walks up to the guys and basically says, did those chairs magically appear out of nowhere, cause I know you know we were using them, and the guys says, "what? you want them back?" and she says, "yes I do".. Go Maggie...She won't think twice about throwing down with a guy...*mental note* take Maggie with me if I ever have a fight, she's got my back. I love you Maggie.
The rest of the night was wonderful! It was a reunion of old friends who used to spend weekends at the Brit, looking for the beer wench or beer necklace guy, complaining about the lack of intelligent men or women we could never find, making new drinking friends on the back patio. We're all a bit older and wiser now, but the good times never change with friends. I love you guys. I couldn't ask for better friends. All I could have asked for was my house to be closer, because it took me over an hour to get home! And being the trooper that I am, I went to bed at 2:30, woke up at 5:30, went to work, and went to a friends house on Saturday night! (Chas, that dinner was yummo!!!) :) Pics will be up soon!

Please refrain from using cell phones...

If there's one place I would like to have a bit of privacy, it's the bathroom. Seriously, I do not wish to have a conversation with someone who is in the midst of tinkling or anything else. On the same token, I do not wish to be in a bathroom stall hearing someone else on a cell phone. Why do some people think it's socially acceptable to do this? It isn't... really, it isn't. It's one thing to have a conversation with a friend you walk in the bathroom with, it's a whole other thing when you're on the phone with them and you hear flushing...ew. So the next time you're chatting on the phone about what's for dinner or sharing some gossip and you walk into a bathroom, can you please tell them, can I call you later? :)
