I got tagged.

This is a picture of Flaming Gorge in the summer of 2006. We went with the Kellems to the Colton Ranger Station in the Ashley Forrest during the Summer (my kids thought it was so cool to say that, because of their names). If you zoom in Ashley is pulling a silly face. She hates her picture taken, I don't have a good picture of her that whole trip. It's a picture of Ashley, Gracie, Summer and Mya.

If your looking for something fun to do this was a fun trip. We went rafting down the green river, stayed in the rangers station, and went fishing. The kids had a blast.

Now you are tagged!!! You have to go to your my pictures and blog the fourth picture.

Fish Lake

September 26th-28th Rick and I went to Fish Lake with some friends and had a blast. No kids were there and it was nice. The guys all went scuba diving and spear fishing. Rick will have to tell you about the one that got away, the fish keeps getting bigger and bigger everytime I hear it. The girls did crafts, and relaxed, it was a nice get away. We have the best friends. We went with Dennis & Heather, Ryan & Chelsi, and Matt & Ramie.

Colton's Football

School has started and I have started my job as the kids P.E. teacher, and I absolutly love it. It's hard being gone all the time, my house is usually a wreak, but it's fun. Colton has started football, well it's actually over now, beacuse I'm so behind on blogging. Anyway he got on a team that wasn't the greatest, they only scored maybe 4 touchdowns the whole season. But Colton ran back a kick off return of about 70 yards to score a touchdown, he is really good, he is a fast runner and usually gets a lot of yardage. He played wide reciever and at this age they don't throw the ball a whole lot. My girls are happy to hear that they don't have to sit through anymore football games this year. As you can tell by the pictures, they usually just goof off anyways.

Seattle

It's been awhile and I am totally busy. So heres my blog for the month. I went to Seattle with Rick September 11th-14th. He had a business trip and I just tagged along. It was really fun. I went and toured all the sites by myself. I wished Rick was with me, but I still had fun by myself. I walked to Pikes Market, took the monarail to the Space Needle, and went on the Duck Boat Ride Tour which was amazing. I love Seattle and want to go back. I want to do the underground tour and go to all the museums. Now that I know what Rick does, I would love to tag along with him on more business trips, but a little thing called a job is now going to get in the way. (BUMMER!!!)

Sand Dunes

August 31st-September 1st.
Yes, again. My family loves the Sand Dunds we have to go all the time. As soon as Rick got back from Canada, we jumped in the truck and went to the sand dunes with Josh & Kari and their family. It was windy the first day but the next day was pertect. Josh has now bought a Rhino and Rick has fallen in love with it. I'm still not sure that I love the dunes. I love going, my kids love it, but the whole riding thing still freaks me out. I know I'm a wuss.

Rick's Vancouver Trip

August 28th-30th
This is Rick'sfishing trip in his words.

We’ll, I thought I would give you a quick report on the fishing in Vancouver.

Right off, our guide let us know that the fishing was a bit slow and that the salmon run had not really hit yet. About an hour and a half pass with no bites. So we talked and took in the great scenery and listened to the guide tell us a few of his stories. After that hour and a half of no action I finally get a big hit on my pole. So I quickly grabbed it and started reeling in! Our guide informed us to expect 13 to 15 pound salmon so when a 25 lb, 35+ inch monster hits my bait the fight was on!

After about 12 minutes and 4 runs later, I finally tired him a bit and started bringing him in. Well, no sooner was I starting to celebrate with the catch only 15 feet off the boat when a huge seal comes up from nowhere and grabs my catch! The seal immediately dives and my drag starts screaming. We all looked at each other and the guide says “Well, he’ll have to come up for air sometime” so we took off keeping the boat right on top of my line. Four or five minutes passed and finally the line starts loosening up so I quickly began reeling in the slack. The seal surfaced about 20 feet off the side of the boat so we immediately begin yelling and slapping the water trying to scare it off. Catching his breath the seal dove and again the drag on the reel starts screaming. He would dive down to about 70 feet and we continued to try to keep the boat above him.

With most of the harbor seals in the area weighing about 50 – 75 lbs, the guide proceeded to inform us that this seal was huge at around 175 lbs. So with about 200 lbs of weight on the end of my pole it was like trying to raise a soaked mattress off the bottom of the ocean!

So again, the seal surfaces about twenty feet off the side of the boat. The guide runs past me and returns with a sling shot and starts shooting wildly at the seal trying to get him to release the fish. Passing the sling shot around everyone on board begins taking turns shooting at the seal actually hitting him a number of times, but still no fish.

Well, after about an hour and five minutes both the seal and I were starting to get winded. The seal came up one more time, took a few good breaths and dove. Right away I could feel him violently shaking the fish around and then the weight of the fish was gone. I quickly reeled in the line and all I had to show for it was a huge jaw bone that remained on the hook and a good story to bring home.

While all of this was happening we got a few good pictures of the action. I hope you enjoy them! (Frickin seals!)

Pictures of it are just before this. If you blow it up you can see the seal. Pretty cool.

Scary!!!!

Scary. I have a new job!!! Is that crazy or what? If I wasn't busy enough already. I am the new P.E. Tech at my kids school. It's a little scary, but I think it will be really fun. My kids are so excited to have me at their school. Yes, I am still teaching dance and working at our laundromat and trying to be a good mom. My plate is completely full, but they needed a teacher and I always thought that would be the perfect job for me. It's right here, I am gone when my kids are, and I will still have my summers off. It will be so much fun. CRAZY!!!!

School has started.

School is in session!!!! Yea. I've already gone to lunch and have been celebrating every chance I get. I love my summers, but it's nice to have my own time again. These pictures are of the first and second day of school. Coltons always so happy to have his picture taken can you tell. He was so mad I went into his classroom to take his picture. Last year I had to take it through the glass window he wouldn't even look at me. Is this what happens when they get older? Summer loves her teacher, but she hates school, hates everything about it. She thinks its to long, and the best part of her day is when the bell rings to go home. Ashley loves her teacher, loves school, and has her desk jam packed with all of her stuff. Her water bottle has already leaked all over her notebooks, and it was only the second day of school. I think her teacher is in for it.
I'm all caught up, now exciting things need to happen so I can have something to blog about.

Best Day of My Life.

August 16th - Rick and I went boating with some friends, I had the time of my life. It's been over 15 years since I've been water sking and I loved every minute of it. Yes, even the green Utah Lake water. I wake boarded. Sat in the air chair, which is more like riding a bull, if you can stay on it for longer than 8 seconds your doing good. And I rode on two tubes, it was a blast.

After the lake we were supose to take our whole family to the demolition derby in Spanish Fork. Ashley and Summer were throwing up, so they stayed home and we took just Colton. Ricks family was there and my parents came. It was the best demolition derby ever. It was fun, because our neighbors, the Zabriskies, were the 'hit' of the show. He won, and his wife did the powder puff and she was awesome, she should have won but came in second. I didn't take my camera, but this is now a family tradition we will always go to, and I won't ever forget my camera again!!!

BEST DAY EVER!!!!!

Princess Festival

August 7th my girls went to the Princess Festival. It was at the Hatfields house in Lindon. I was so excited to go and see what the castle looked like and see the backyard. It was amazing. The princess stuff was like a play that was being acted out from place to place. They went from smelling the flowers, to making a wish under the trellis, to riding in the pumkin carriage. It went on and on they went to the witches castles then saw a princess and had to go save her in the castle, they went up to the balcony then went to find Sleeping Beauty in the art gallery. Then they tried on Cinderellas slipper and danced with the prince in the ballroom. The girls were in heaven. They loved dressing up like a princess, it was a little to long for them, they got bored at the end. I was so glad I got to go and see the place for myself, and I have 200 pictures of the whole thing.

Chelsi's 30!!!

We went to Jumpin Jacks for Chelsi Crocketts 30 birthday party. Ryan rented out the whole place and had all the neighbors and friends come. I think Rick and I had more fun than the kids. We have way to many pictures of us going down the slides. It is a really fun place to have a party.

Ashley's Birthday

Posted by Picasa

August 1st, Ashley had her friend cooking birthday party. Ashley is so into cooking and always wants to help. So me and my mom thought she should have a cooking birthday party. It was alot of work getting this ready. I made aprons and bags with hair bows for all of her friends. My mom got so into it she made cookbooks for everyone. It is the cutiest cookbook ever, she has easy recipies, and has cute little pictures on every page. I told her she should sell them. My mom even brought all the food for everything we made. Thanks mom for all your hard work, Ashley loved the party.

Summers Birthday

Summer had a water flip flop party. The girls played a bunch of water games, make a flip flop scrap book, made a sun visor, and got a cute bag I made for each of them to take home. I was suppose to have my big waterslide for them to slide down, but its not working anymore. They all had a fun time.

This is just the starting picture. I love taking pictures of the fireworks. It takes a little practice, i'm trying to get better, but I love the way it turns out!!

Dunk tank

Posted by Picasa

July 3rd we had our Culdesac of Fire. The Brown's always put together the best party, with a dunk tank, snow cones, cotton candy, they have great food and the whole neighborhood is invited. It was so much fun. My kids favorite part is the dunk tank, so I had to get pictures. I live in the best neighborhood with the greatest people ever.
