Gardner Village...

Yesterday the fam got together for a trip down to Gardner Village to see the WITCHES!
*
How fun it was for the girls!  My mom and Rick's parents joined us...it was a beautiful day!
*
We walked around and saw all the witches, shopped, shopped, shopped, and ate at Archibald's.  This is our 2nd year in a row going and will definitely be a yearly tradition.
*
I love FALL!  :o)

Notice Maddie is trying to bum some bread off this lady to feed the ducks....
in case you're wondering....it worked, lol!

Kennedy eating PUMPKIN ice cream, yum!

Trying on Gramma Linda's new shades!

Oh, and we cut Kennedy's HAIR a few days ago.  I had a ROCK in my throat as they swept inches upon inches of hair away... but she wanted it cut and it was getting so long that it was nearly unmanagable.  It's just hair, right?  :o)

Hope you're all having a fabulous FaLL!

Latest Happenings...

As always, the Braeggers are alive and well! Just slacking, once again, on our blog posts and latests happenings in our lives!
At the Brigham City Temple open house, beautiful!

Summer was fabulous….SO much fun.  We spent many-a-days at the pool and at LAGOON….it was the girl’s first year going and they just couldn’t get enough!  Kennedy is a CHICKEN (love her to pieces, but she is) and doesn’t go on much of anything except a VERY select few of the kiddie rides.  Maddie, on the other hand, will go on anything and EVERYTHING we sit her cute lil butt on….she is FEARLESS!  So much fun.

At "Frightmares" Sept 2012.  They look REALLY happy in this picture, lol!

We also enjoyed swimming parties around the neighborhood every Thursday.  Each of us would take a week that we hosted the water party and have lunch.  It was tons of fun for the kids and gave us moms lots of time to visit.  Good times!

Now, we are back in the swing of things and the girls are back in preschool.  Maddie’s  first year, Kennedy’s 2nd year.  Last year, Mads didn’t understand why she didn’t get to go too….now she thinks she is real BIG STUFF :o)   They are in different classes so I get a little one-on-one time with each of them every day, I love that.  It’s so fun to watch them get excited about learning new things and show me their cute little projects and pictures from school.

"Signing in."  Writing her name on the wall.

Mads taking in her "color bucket" full of things that are red!

Kennedy and one of her best friends, Bella.

We went on a field trip yesterday with Preschool to Black Island Farms.  Took a hayride, chose a pumpkin, played on slides, blowups, and a “sandbox” full of corn kernels  (they had corn in their ears, hair, and undies) lol!
Raising her hand to get her pumpkin clipped :o)

 Train ride!

Weeeee!

Fall is here and I LOVE it!!  We took a trip up to Park City last weekend.  Driving through Parley's Canyon and noticing the changing of the trees is just beautiful!

Hope you all are enjoying this fall season as much as we are!

Much love!

Random thought...

I was sitting in Relief Society today.
The lesson was on immortality and the importance
of doing the things we should to live with Heavenly Father again…you know, all
the “right answers,” reading scriptures, praying, going to church, keeping
covenants. I was sort of half-way
listening as I sometimes tend to do.
Several people made comments throughout the duration of the lesson, one
in which struck me on this particular day…as if the comment was specifically
for me.
***

There was a girl who was explaining a time in her life when
she felt like she was all alone. She has
a husband and 5 little kids- one would think she’d be ANYTHING but alone. But that’s how she felt. She didn’t know what was lacking….but she
felt like her burden was more than she could bear and the weight on her
shoulders was more than it had ever been.
Was her husband not carrying his load? No.
Were her kids being more
difficult than they ever had been? No, not that either.
During a R.S. lesson, ithad dawned on her (much like me) that we simply
cannot do it without the Savior
on our side. He is willing to guide us
every single step of the way…but only if we are willing to let him.

My husband has encouraged me over, and over, and over, “Hunny,
you need to read and pray more.” I’ve
always discarded what he’s told me, thinking “I’m strong enough, I don’t need
to ask for His help and he doesn’t want to be bothered with me anyway.” I’ve often prayed and read scriptures, then
stepped back realizing that I am just going through the motions...I don’t
fervently pray or faithfully read. I
also don’t get to reap the benefits of doing so.
***

Hence, I need to be better.
Bottom line.

I love this picture.
To those who have never seen it before, notice there isn't a door knob on His side, suggesting that we are the only ones who can let Him enter.
***
The Savior is waiting for us to let him in (or in my case,
let him in MORE) and I’m so grateful for a LIGHT-BULB moment today that helped
me realize such an important concept….I cannot do it alone. So grateful for a fabulous husband and good friends to remind me of that.
So how's that for a random thought? :D

{ Decisions... }

I need opinions, ladies! Although our house is new, I am s.l.o.w.l.y working on doing things to make it more personalized...more us! SO, to begin I wanted to add a little flare to my girls' bathroom. I'm considering adding some molding to this smaller space to see how we like it.
***
So....wainscoting OR board and batten??

Board and Batten

{ happy spring }

Hello to my dear friends! {Are any of you still out there?} lol!
It has been well over a year since my last blog post. As such, I won’t
even try to catch up on the events over this past year so instead, I’ll just
update on the latest happenings in the Braegger home! It has been a great year indeed!

***

Little Maddie just turned 3 years old last week! She is growing like a little flower. She is THE most energetic, intelligent, make-me-wanna-pull-my-hair-out-everyday
little girl….love her to pieces {most days} ;o)
She has the vocab of a teenager saying things like “ugh, that’s SO disgusting,”
“dad, you’re SO annoying,” and “I’m so frustrated!” LOL {I don’t say those things, EVER!} ha.
She sings her ABC’s over and over…and over all day long. She is extremely into music and one of her all time favs is “Sexy and I know it” by LMFAO….don’t worry.

***

Kennedy turned 4 in February and is our little
tender-hearted, sweet, kind little lady.
She’s a dream, really. She’s been
in preschool all year and is branching out socially more than I expected. She’s a popular lil’ thing. She started dance in the fall and is having
her first recital in May. She is also a
Sunbeam in Primary and thinks she is the SHIZ now that she isn’t in nursery
anymore.

***

We moved into our new house last May and love our new neighborhood.
I started working on Labor and Delivery at McKay Dee last summer
and I love, love, LOVE my job! It’s rewarding to be a part of one of the BIGGEST day in people’s lives. Aside from that, I adore the girls I work with. We probably have a little too much
fun sometimes.

Rick just called to be the Bishop in our ward. Eeek!
Bless his heart…he is doing SUCH a great job but is growing more gray
hairs by the day { seriously } !!!
***

Okay. So that’s the
run-down. It actually sounds like one of
those letter/Christmas card things that I usually dread reading. lol!! sorry!

She.is.so.cute. !!

Munchin'

Our princess! I love her ears so much, they make me smile :o)

Kennedy's first day of preschool {she will never look at the camera}

We had a princess party, go figure!

Kennedy's 4th b-day party. Aunt Jen and Grandma Linda came to help...thank GOODNESS!

Crazy hair day at school

Maddie's 3rd b-day. In all her morning glory, ha!

Sisterly love. {these moments are few and far between} lol!

She absolutely will not look at the camera, ever.

I hope everyone is having a splendid Spring! I can't wait for sun and green grass!!

1 a.m. waffles and an update...

First off: You know you've got it bad when you have nothing else to post but a picture of a waffle.

BUT... since most the world and the people known to me are sawing logs in a world full of sweet somber, I'm slightly lonely at this hour and figured that since I'm really not sleepy, I may as well enlighten you with another (pointless) post. It seems the hours of my graveyard shift are even beginning to have an effect on my eating habits, hence the 1 a.m. "snack" that would be closely equivalent to 2000 cals. and the time of my "lunch" break at work.

***

Anywho....our house is coming along well! It's great to see progression, and lots of it. It's about half-way bricked now, plumbing done, A/C done, and now they're putting up the sheet rock. I'm hoping they can continue at this rate. It has been great living with my mom for these number of months, but the drive to work and back to S.L. has started to take its' toll at 6 a.m. and ideally, being married with kids, it's just nice to have our own space. This living-with-grandma has changed our schedules a lot. Kennedy likes to sleep with her grandma every night, without fail. That's going to be a fun habit to break, and I mean that with all the sarcasm in the world.

***

On that note, and speaking of habits....Kennedy got rid of the BINKI right around Thanksgiving! It was starting to look a bit rediculous and I felt it was conflicting with her speech. She talks much more now......obviously.

***

This week we started potty training BOTH girls at the same time. I figured Kennedy, who will turn 3 in February, is ready to train and is probably long overdue but hasn't shown much interest before now. Maddie, who is turning 2 in March has exceeded my expectations with toilet training already and (not everytime) but much of the time will tell me when she needs to go. She loves to read books on the potty, and rip up toilet paper into little teeny-tiny pieces while she sits there (ugh. I guess whatever works, right?)

***

I hope, my friends, that you are all doing well.

Enjoy something YUMMY today....I just did :o)

Hookie...

We're playing hookie and sluffing Church today due to....

...our wheezy, sneezy, sniffly, coughing, headachey COLDS! It appears our yearly colds have come back with a vengeance. The girls even sound a little croupy. Madison was laughing at herself the other night...she'd cough (aka bark like a seal), so she'd laugh...and bark some more. What a sight. Hopefully we are on the downhill now and will be feeling better asap!

.

What would we do without cold medicine, tissues, a warm home, and sleep?

I would have been a horrible pioneer.

I am grateful!
