Christmas Letter 2012

2012 has been year of many changes…

It started out with packing, painting and fixing- the old house that is.  In September 2011 we decided to build a house in Stansbury Park UT. The process was slow at first but they broke ground February 1 and we moved in the last week of April. It was an emotionally and physically exhausting journey but we are so happy to finally be settling in.

July brought us the most exciting news of the year… we are expecting baby #3! In November we found out that our peanut is a little BOY! We are all so excited about the addition to our family! He is due to arrive around March 29, 2013!

Travis worked the first part of the year on getting the old house ready to rent, finishing up projects and making sure everything was in working order. Then over the summer he had another big job of putting in a fence, sprinkler system and yard at the new house. It took lot of hard work and a lot of help from anyone willing! (Mostly Travis' dad)  Not to mention all of the honey do lists that came along with moving into and decorating a new house plus his full time job at the power company.  He really is a trooper!

Ethan graduated from preschool this year! After 3 years there he finally got to head to kindergarten. He could not have been more excited about it! Ethan has a great teacher and is learning a lot this year. He excels in math, doing addition and subtraction all in his head. Ethan turned 6 this September and with that came losing teeth! The count is up to 3 just since August. Hard to believe how fast time flies! Ethan is still our little scientist and animal lover, he can’t wait to teach his baby brother everything he knows!

Little Miss Chloë is 5 now! She is in her second year of preschool and starting to read! She goes to preschool at the elementary Ethan is at, they are right across the hall from each other and occasionally get to play on the playground together. Chloë is our little independent woman, wanting to do everything by herself and be “big”. She loves to take care of anyone who isn’t feeling well and can’t wait to be a big sister. She says she is going to change “stinky diapers”, read him stories, and snuggle him! We’re sure she will change her mind quickly about those diapers though.

I have been keeping busy by helping in Ethan’s class this year, it’s so fun to meet all his friends and see what his day is like! I also have done many projects for the house, painting furniture, making quilts and organizing everything! Decorating the nursery has been the focus lately and it’s all coming together just how we envisioned with a vinyl tree, whole wall felt board and handmade quilts and curtains!

With all the craziness at home we didn’t get to take many trips this year. However we did make time to drive 9 hours up to Montana to spend a long weekend with Travis’s sister and her family, plus meet their beautiful new baby girl. There was also the annual trip up to Bridal Veil Falls in Provo and many outings to the Hogle Zoo plus a trip up to Jordanelle in Park City to jet ski. Then there was swimming in Papa Mark and Nana Julie's pool which is always a favorite on hot summer days.

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and very happy
                                             2013!

                 Love ,

Fathers Day

Its a little late but I had to do a Fathers Day post. The kids were so excited for Fathers Day... well they love any chance we get to celebrate. They spent the weekend chasing their dad around and treating him like a jungle gym. Ethan and Chloë love to play "super hero vs. super villain" and they love when Travis is home to "fight" ...mom isn't so hip on being chased around and tackled to the ground. I love watching them play with their dad, and Travis loves it as much as they do!
Ethan and Chloë have the best dad and granddad's a kid could ask for. Love you Travis, Wendell, and Mark! Hope you all had a great Fathers' Day!

Update

Here is the reason the blog has not been updated in a long time. Back in September we decided to build a home and its been quite the roller coaster ride. They started digging February 6 and it was complete April 24. We moved April 29 and finally feel settled. We are working on getting a fence up so we can put in some grass and have a play area for the kids.

The kids love living in a cul-de-sac where they can drive their car and ride bikes without having to worry about to much traffic

Chloë at the mall

Ethan was really into "Where the Wild Things Are" so this was his way of dressing up like a wild thing.

Chloë's class had an end of year program at school, they sang and danced for all the parents. It was so cute.

Ethan graduate preschool! We are so proud of him, 3 long years preschool and he is finally headed to kindergarten. He is SO excited and asks on a weekly basis if its time for kindergarten yet. Chloë chimes in with "I wish I was going to kindergarten!"

Ethan had the idea to take a picture like he was holding up the school.

Chloë in front of the school, it her last year here too, she will be in preschool at the same school where Ethan will go for kindergarten!

Now that we live closer to Papa Wendell he can drop by just to read stories!

Catching Up... January

So I've been slacking on my blog, not a very good start to 2012. We have been pretty busy and if we're not busy we're sick lately. So finally here it is: January 2012 adventures.

Below are our pictures of the annual January trip to Antelope Island. Maybe some time we will get smart and go when the weather is warm. It was pretty cold that day but at least the sun was shining so we got some way cute pictures and the kids had a blast running all over the place... and feeding the chickens (their favorite part)

I'll be back on soon to blog about february

December 2011

We had such a fun Christmas, the kids (and Travis and I) were spoiled as usual. We opened presents at home in the morning then headed to the Farnsworth's for a yummy Christmas dinner and to meet up with Wendell and Carole. The kids love it when all their grandparents are in one place! Here are just a few pics from Christmas day...
