Cousins

"Cousins are friends that you will love forever." -Constance Richards
We love our cousins and got to see a lot of them on our way to California...

Pioneer Day 2014

Our Primary got to put a float in the Pioneer Day Parade last summer. The theme was "Builders of the Nation" so all the kids dressed up as a "builder" of some kind. It was super hot that day and the kids were troopers. Luckily, we had plenty of water and our Bishop had popsicles waiting for the kids at the end of the parade.

Here a chick, there a chick

After we arrived home from our cruise, we were unpacking and enjoying being back in our own home. After several hours, Gabby went into the back yard and found a box on our back porch that said "Welcome Home". Inside were 2 small baby chicks, one a fluffy yellow and one a light brown color. We had no clue where the box came from, but there was a bag of chicken feed left along with the box. They were so cute. The kids loved them and named them Feathers and Picachu. It took us a few days to figure out who left them but we finally got our friends Chris and Teesha to confess the crime. Ha, ha. So, we bought a coop and started raising the chickens. They were broken into life with kids pretty quickly as all the neighbor kids came to play with them. Well, a few months later Feathers started to get a little more aggressive. Then "she" started cock a doodle doo-ing and it turns out Feathers was a rooster. I put that rooster up on a local garage sale site and he was gone the next day. We then went to the feed store and picked up 2 more baby chicks, who the kids named Harold and Minerva Louise. I guess we are for reals chicken people now!

4th of July 2014

Becky, Cade, and Adelaide came to visit on the 4th of July. It was so toasty, we decided to take our BBQ up to Mt. Graham. We had a great time using our glow necklaces as frisbees and having contests of who could loop them around sticks. Then a rain storm moved in and we headed back down the mountain to watch fireworks.Good times!

Ft. Lauderdale Temple

After we were back in Florida, we got to go to the Ft. Lauderdale Temple before flying home. It was just dedicated a few weeks before we arrived. While visiting with the people from Robert's mission, you could tell how excited they were to have a temple so close to them. It is a beautiful temple and reminder that Famililes are Forever!

Key West & Cozumel

Key West was the first stop on our cruise. We were only here for 1/2 day so it was a quick stop! Renting bikes was really fun and let us be tourist-y.
While everybody else was at the beach, my Mom, Robert and I went to a butterfly sanctuary. It was so cool! It felt like steppping into a fairytale world.
Then we met back up at the beach before heading back to the ship. (I should not be posting these in the middle of winter. It is making me miss the ocean and summertime!)

This last one is from the beach resort in Cozumel, our favorite part of the cruise. The snorkeling here was a blast, the beach was gorgeous, the company was fabulous...Ah! Let's go back!
