February fun......

I love February! Maybe cause it's the month I can have AS MUCH pink in my house as I want and no one says anything about it!....
Before we dive into the pink.....I got to throw a baby shower for my sweet friend's FIRST baby BOY!!! We were so excited when we heard the news!!  I had to do an earlier morning one because I had to coach basketball and so...we went with a breakfast foods theme!

Not long after.....
we started the rest of Feb off with bang of pink!
My  friend Morgan and I threw a baby shower for our friend Janell...
she was having TWIN GIRLS!!!!
Pink overload baby!!!

Katie's birthday just happens to fall on the Superbowl...so is there anything better than A LOT OF FOOD to celebrate?
Baking is super fun.  Hence my winter 50 I put on. ::)

We love bathtime in the bitter cold of winter! I love snuggling 2 clean boys!
We try lots of new recipes
& cinnabon carmel corn was a favorite!
Of course...Watchin' Aunt Katie play basketball is ALWAYS an attended event during the winter months! (stay tuned for MORE on this excitement on this in a later post!)

and of course...my favorite part-----
VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!
I am not gonna lie, I begin prepping my ideas like a month in advance for this holiday, but to my surprise, Rex told me he was planning the date..I was like....WOW, OK  yes, you can totally plan it, but I couldn't resist NOT doing something...So I may have planned
just a little...

I love making this about ALL my boys! So that morning I had the kitchen all decked out in pink and red,
we made heart shaped funnel cakes,
sugar cookies,
lots of candy,
and presents to kick off the day!
The boys were....hyper the whole day, to say the least....

We delivered fun little valentine's to their friends!

But I may have also REALLY wanted to do something for my babalish, cause after all it is the holiday to celebrate
OUR LOVE.....so
I found lots of fun ideas that I incorporated into
ONE BIG ...present I guess you could say :)

There were actually 10 presents....It was called
"on the hour" love.....
and I gave him a big bag full of these gifts right as he was leaving for work....and each hour on the :14 minute mark, he was to open the specified gift. Since, he didn't leave till about 8:30, his first gift was to be opened at 9:14. and continued until he arrived home to me :)
Although I had been prepping this for a month, I stayed up doing the last minute set up, and prepping and making sure everything would be just perfect for this holiday...
you may ask what time I actually finished all this "prepping"....
Well I just happened to grab a picture of the time.....I was expecting it to be like 1 in the morning, but I was pretty shocked it was actually almost 3 in the morning! Ha ha.... ah the things we lose sleep over!

One of the gifts was a "book of love" of all the reasons I love my Rexy....and well I lost 4 cards along the way, so it quickly became 48 rather than the usual 52 cards to a deck...but it was SUPER fun to put together!  Then once Rexy arrived home, we started our evening! A yummy dinner at Elements and then he took me ICE SKATING! We came home and had some delish treats I made during the day and cuddled up and watched a movie!
I love the day of LOOOOVE!
------------------------------------------
We love Friday night dates at home! This time we cooked the Olive Garden menu
Hot Spinach artichoke dip
Salad w/dressing
Grilled Chicken w/alfredo sauce
and then we set up the car dealerships and airports....and played cars!
The boys love it and we love watching how they interact and play!

I decided one day that I wanted new pics of my boys...So we headed out for a photo shoot!
Here are my fav's....

I hadn't been to Snow College to watch Kates play on her home court...so Cam and I went with my parents to visit the good ole city of Ephraim and watch a game!
Cameron loved watching this big mess unravel!
It was a fun lil getaway and little did we know what adventures this basketball was about to bring......

January excitement....

Living in Logan, sometimes January can really DRAG on and on and on and on and on....ok get the picture?
So we have to make the most of it.  So what do WE do to pass the time of below freezing temperature in an inversion?....Well we....
Head to Brigham to escape the inversion, and we play some hand and foot with mom and dad....and well, here is our proof that we totally kicked their trash. (for once.)
Rex and my mom like to act like Kip while my dad is usually whippin up some dang ques-aDILL-a.
(actually it's usually a REALLY good drink concoction. He's like the BEST at these.)
We have a little too much fun hangin' with my single sista and all her BOYFRIENDS. (really, this rocks, it keeps us young...or at least thinking we are!)
We do all sorts of wierd stuff...a flexibility paper bag game, the infamous broom trick, hand slapping game...heck remember when being single was like.....wierd fun???
We eat LOTS of this in January. That's wierd I know...but it's like rebelling the cold outside somehow.....
Have Xbox kinect/ wii game nights...keeps us fit after all those ice cream cones! (I only wish!)
We love hittin'  any basketball game we can! And who doesn't love watchin' our AGGIES???

Ahh...January, so GLAD you are gone and over! :)

new YEARS parrrr-tay!!!

As many of ya know, my dads side of the fam has this big ole' shin dig EVERY year to ring in the New Years! We rent out a hotel conference room and we have about 50 people there
Is it awesome? yep. like anyone would want to miss this happenin' party!
Each year we are all in charge of different things...This year, my fam had the big dinner....and we wanted somethin' fun & GOOO-OOOD. So, we made the Cafe Rio salads/burritos!!!! I could eat this every day for the rest of my life. I just want to leave the prep work to Cafe Rio. For sure!
What is it about perfectly portioned foods that make them so appealing?  I ate like 6 of each of these. Not gonna lie.
Soda is a BIG part of this party. We usually have over 40 2 liter bottles of soda....and they usually are gone by the end of the evening!
Then the INFAMOUS BINGO game comes out....ahhh yeah baby, B-I-N-G-O!
and the prizes are AWESOME. :)
for instance: The rockin' shades Katy is wearing, the play money Cameron is stealing. the over abundance of more sugar drinks and candy....the prizes are endless.
The company is....uh well, interesting. :)
But the New Year always starts off FABULOUS! :)
Look at us, could we be anymore excited for a rockin' 2012??????
I.think.not!

My sweet lil Cameron is getting so big! I still can't believe that he is really 5. It makes me sad to think how quickly the time really does fly....... I still remember sitting at home when he was 2 weeks old and he was crying his eyes out, and I remember thinking how he would grow out of that stage one day, and he would be old enough to go to school and I would be the one crying my eyes out....and now, here we are almost time to enter school.  Where does the time go?
What a lil stud muffin he is! I am biased, I realize that, but seriously this kid melts my heart every single day. He is one of the sweetest, most loveable boys i have ever met......
He has some of the GREATEST reactions ever.  Love the SA-WEEEET bike helmet he got from rockin' Aunt Lisa and Uncle Sam! He gets a comment daily about how cool it is! (thank goodness cause it makes him wanna wear it!)
Uncle Todd and Aunt Katy always tryin' to think of some CRAZY idea that this kid would love....and well they did it. They got him a girlfriend! :)

He figure he better love on her before he says goodbye for another 11 years to girlfriends.....If his momma has anything to say about that, it'll be 15 :)

I'd say he was pretty convinced he didn't need her at this point. He just wanted the goods! That was such a blast for the kids! Thanks T& K....!

When I asked Cameron what kind of cake he wanted, his eyes lit up and he said "A ROCKETSHIP!!!" so, I did my best to create one for him! Good thing he is easy to please! :)

 Love the big puffy cheekers!
Korv just wanted the frosting...he couldn't wait to sink those teeth in it.
Of course, I  couldn't help but add a little more to the party....I decided the night before to make JET PACKS for the boys, so they could "blast off". Thanks to Pinterest for that one. They still play with these things to this day!

We asked Cam if he wanted to have a big birthday party with lots of his friends or if he wanted to invite one friend for a fun filled day to do any activities he wanted and go to eat at any restaurant.
Well, he didn't even hesitate.
 He wanted to invite Chandler.
He wanted to go to Treehouse museum.
He wanted to eat A LOT of pizza somewhere.
And he wanted cake.
 So.......his wish was granted.
The boys colored these pictures for the museum, then we hit the road....

We stopped to fill up on gas on our way out, and the boys said they NEEDED energy for their day, so we got the essentials.
Skittles & Soda.
Awesome.
The boys had SOOOO MUCH fun here.  They could have played all day.  But Rex and I were pretty much exhausted after 3 hours!

This was one of my favorite poses from him! Total classic Cameron pose.
Focused. Cute. Totally pullin' the "yeah, I am important, don't bother me" face.
Wish you could see my picture I drew.....I wrote him a birthday note. He said it was his favorite.
see.....he just knows how to melt my heart.♥
This picture, well, this may all too soon become true.  He literally tells us daily that he wants to be a doctor.  (Along with a pilot, a policeman and ambulance driver.) He actually asked me one day if he could be all 3.
I said sure. :)
The boys were pretty excited to take this picture. I honestly can't remember why. Maybe cause they finally got their pizza!  Talk about buffets, that is the way to go with boys!
Classic ending to a successful birthday.  A big  fat HUGE piece of cake!
You deserve it little buddy! We love you so much!
Happy Birthday my 5 year old!
