the one where i visit dr lee
back from dr lee's. he had had to take my blood to run some tests and im quite amazed by his eyesight.. i, for one, would never have been able to see the tiny vein in which he drew blood out from. that was not to say it didnt hurt cos it did. and his plasters stick painfully well.

well dr lee is a seriously underrated figure in my life. he's the family doctor and it's his opinion we all trust so if there's anything we dont trust about your regular run-of-mill doctors we go to him. even if it means waking up at 7 in the morning and hitching a ride from dad all the way to the other end of the island. it's weird when u consider that he's not even like a well known doctor.

and the way he speaks leaves u doubtless that he's a doctor. it's the crisp, serious, thoughtful manner which sets him apart from all the others. he throws u all the medical jargon and takes it all for granted that u understand, then explains it very patiently when it becomes obvious that u dont.

and then there's this other thing about language. other neighbourhood doctors that i've been to seem to assume that just because their clinic is situated in a neighbourhood means that they can speak broken english, singlish even chinese-english if u know what i mean. i mean what kind of western doctor are u if u have to rely on chinese to express urself?! what about our non-Mandarin-speaking compatriots? maybe it's just me but when a doctor speaks to me in Singlish my trust in him drops down a couple of notches. dr lee speaks perfect fluent english by the way, and i suppose mandarin or dialects to the elderly who dont understand the language which i guess is the correct way to operate.

ok now who wants to go watch the Singapore Aviva Open with me?! it's ONLY the hottest badminton tournament in case u didnt know..

  dayout
oh my yesterday was so fun!!

met up with xiaowen earlier before meeting sook for 'ghost train' so that we could get her her bday pres first. well so obviously we went to get tix first.. after we had met up with sook we made her pose in the madagascar board cut-out before we would give her her pres..haha!! since we thought that the tix for ghost train had already sold out we wanted to give sook a scare before producing the tix but weirdly enough the screen only showed that the tix were 'selling fast'!! haha xw and i were stunned for awhile then we had no choice but to play along and join the queue until it was our turn whereby we pulled a stunned sook out of the queue and showed her the tix..hahaha. rox dont we!!

after that we were supposed to have a class outing at marina so went along to the same place we had steamboat the last time around. oh but not before waiting for lz n yh at the mrt station..oh yes and szeming of course :P oddly enough wai kheong brought a couple of his frds too...*raised eyebrows* i thought it was a CLASS thing..?! oh well...

oh realised that ezra and eugene are in the same platoon!! as in eugene tan the ex-cisco collegue.. apparently he's signed on..oh i bet he looks terrible without hair..haha..

the girls talked alot in the bowling alley/arcade while the guys were onto the gaming machines..although we had to keep shouting over the din..HAHA.. oh that's why i woke up with a weird throat!!

nowhere else to go after that so went back. haha. abrupt end eh..

oh anyways i finished the 'secret history'.. u know the book i was raving about in the previous entry..quite a melodramatic end which induced pangs of sadness in me. and it's weird when u realise that the story itself is like a secret within a secret..every one of the characters had secrets which they kept from each other, some more disturbing than the others.. oh i liked the book..brilliantly written. oh that is not to say that the book didnt have its flaws. there are certain lull moments when the author tries to draw a comparison between, for example, the weather and the characters' feelings which are pretty dull and literal..4.5 outta 5 stars i give.

on a different note i've just received the hall orientation package which i think would be much better and useful than the foc. so i think i'll forego the foc and go along with the hall thingy..and maybe the student union thing if i get into nbs..get my drift sook?? PLS HELP ME ASK UR FRD!!

tag~

  capeesh
woke up early this morning to get to final theory lesson...

liked it much better than the peak period lessons. there were few students and nothing weird happened.. instructor was pretty nice too..no questions asked..his name was Yau sth sth..though he feels abit gayish to me..*shrugs*

went to lunch at lot 1 before going to weiling's. in a fix over whether or not to join the hss camp..*ARGH!!!!!* on one hand the hss ppl really didnt make much of a pleasant impression on me at the teaparty. they were all like super quiet. and the ones who talked were so fake-accented with like an affected air... but then again i dont really wanna start school without a single friend if i really get into hss....pls tag!!

did i tell u abt the time when me and weiling went to watch mr & mrs smith?? eh no no premonition..the moronic ticketer gave us the tix to another show, some chinese mahjong show and we didnt notice until we had seated. thank goodness the other ticketer was kind enough to change the tix for us. *humpf* first time such a thing happened to me!!

well lazed around at wl's, frightened her xiao hei a little, helped myself to the lemon sorbet i left in her freezer..well basically made myself at home..haha..

so meeting up with sook n xw for 'ghost train' tmr..(gawd tix are so ex on wkends!!) thn mtg up with the rest at marina for steamboat..

btw i am SOOO hooked on this book right now!! it's "the secret history" by donna tartt and it's so skewed and twisted it's brilliant!! well basically it's abt this group of weird college students taking greek classes who try to experience the euphoria and light-headedness described in ancient greek texts and when they finally reach this stage of abandonment they kill a man by accident. they keep it a secret for as long as they could until one of their close friends who didnt take part in the event realised and started to sorta blackmail them into accommadating his every need to the extent that the rest can no longer take it. after all mental torture IS more treacherous and brutal than physical torture. so in the end i think they decided to silence him. that's where i stopped. fantastic isnt it?! well u really really should dive into this book it's SOO unputdownable..haha

  bomb-ing
met weiling to get tops for uni..

so many japs in town today!! OMG *drools* but saw a whole bunch of youngsters getting excited about a sale at polo ralph lauren and entering the boutique. the disparity in living standards is SOOOO obvious..*deep sigh*

watched premonition. twas ok, not that frightening but maybe it had something to do with my covering my eyes during most of the scary scenes, which weren't that many to begin with..3 stars outta 5..

really spent a bomb today.. got 5 tops for quite a reasonable price but apparently it wasnt reasonable enough for mum who complained that i already have alot of clothes. *frowns* I DONT!!!!

got the nicky lee jiu zhe's album. so proud of myself!! one of the few times i bought a cd based on the voice and the song and not partly based on looks. *grins* havent listened to it yet but TRUST ME if i buy it, it's good. hahaha!!

i really wanna go out too but im so broke it stinks!! cant wait for school to start when i finally get an allowance..

wanna watch so many movies too!! ghost train, war of the worlds, initial d, alot like love...bleah..

anyone has any cute little foreign friend who needs tuition??

  csi
spent the whole day playing csi on the com :P what can i say im your regular csi-freak :)

need to go shopping for tops for uni.. argh. hate shopping when u'r broke, especially when it's compulsary buying...

probably going to watch premonition tmr with wl.. just afraid to walk back in the dark.. somehow as i grow older it isnt that fun to freak out and be afraid to sleep anymore *shrugs*

should probably try designing my own template in future..haha seems like html isnt all that difficult after all..just alot of trial and error and tweaking here and there. hehe will try it sometime with all my pics!!!

have a good day then all of you. it's another sleepless night for me...

oh btw sorry xiaowen cant go for the med exam with you when u so kindly offered :P it's really more convenient to have it done at the polyclinic cos then u can do everything one shot and on top of that u can do it as and when u can make it and not adhere to the date.. btw have u registered at blogspot??

i cant wait to live in the hostel!! seriously it's going to be like so much fun!!!

  oops
oh yeah yeah!! thanks to sook im on my way to becoming quiz-queen FAST!!

What others see from your style: Although to the untrained eye you may seem like a plain dresser who avoids trends, you actually wear carefully designed accessories and clothes that emphasize your uniqueness. You value your freedom and have an artistic mind. You are neither aggressive nor timid, but you believe in yourself.

What your nightclothes reveal: You are friendly and always in good mood. You are candid and helpful, and can be sexy at times too.

What others see from your ties: You enjoy being alone. You like to life the simple but good life, and you cherish your freedom. You are thoughtful, confident and uninterested in glamour.

What others see from your belts: You are a kind of person who likes to hide your feelings. You may have a hot temper but tend to cover it with an outwardly calm and gentle demeanor. You are sensitive when it comes to love.

What others see from your shoes: You are kind and open-minded. You may not be talkative, but you are friendly and enjoy the company of intelligent people. You always keep the secrets of others, and never play tricks on people.

What others see from your earrings: You are a sweet and talkative person. You are sociable, energetic and interesting, and get easily bored by the same old things. You are always looking for adventure.

The last analysis: You are probably a clever and adventurous person. You love to learn new things, and enjoy socializing with friends. Although you enjoy your freedom, you cherish peacefulness and like to spend time alone with your thoughts.

  quiz from sook...
Your view on yourself:Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.
Your readiness to commit to a relationship:You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.
The seriousness of your love:Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.
Your views on education: Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.
The right job for you: You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.
How do you view success:You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.
What are you most afraid of:You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.
Who is your true self:You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

oh man!! very true!! try it urself here

  so..
somebody tell me how to get the matriculation number cos the website i've been directed to has absolutely NOTHING on it..

booked my final theory lessons too...crossing my fingers...

only received the hss camp together with all the matriculation stuff...does it mean i have only like 1 option cos i might change courses...

checked out ntu's sch map. turns out school of hss and nbs are pretty close, like just opposite of each other, which means that if u're in any of these the closest halls would be hall 3 and hall 7. which i heard were good cos they're near the busstop.. what i really want is a place in hall1 & 2 though cos the toilets are shared by 2 rooms instead of a whole floor. and this i think is pretty important to me cos..well u know of my condition :P oh and no worries about washing up and everything cos there's a laundry room and a kitchenette/pantry.. all pretty fun huh!! lz!! managed to convince ur mum?

i dont know how im feeling about this whole thing..i really really hope to be admitted to nbs, but then again im preparing myself to be disappointed. i dont wanna get my hopes up too high but on the other hand i really cant see myself mingling with the rest of the hss people..*eck* damn i dont know what to feel...

hmm...might wanna work during uni..shall see about that. would be best if i could get a job on campus or something.. yepz that's all.

btw u all like my new template?! tag~
