Math in Art

 Hi Everyone,

As part of our district math curriculum, we have been studying 2-D shapes.  We examined and identified many shapes.  Students enjoyed the hands-on activities and games of making shapes using various materials.  Our culminating project was to create artwork using shapes  We used the German artist Paul Klee as our inspiration.  Students particularly liked his Castle and Sun and many of their "village scenes" were influenced by that work of art.  Here we are hard at work.   Finished Masterpieces coming soon!

Reading Buddies

We began reading buddy time on Friday with Mr. Ellerkamp's (Mr.E's) second-grade class.    Kindergarteners and second graders read several books to each other.  Students were engaged and enjoyed their time together.  We can't wait to read again with our buddies.  Thank you, Mr. E's class.
