When All Is Said And Done...

My Grandpa, James Snider, went to be with the Lord last week. When I think of him a few words come to mind...

Faithful.

Kind.

Wisdom.

Giving.

Love.

Man of God.

Strength.

Godly Character.

...and so much more!

There is a song by Geoff Moore that I feels sums up my Grandpa's life...

(here is flash back to the 80's for ya:)

When the music fades into the past,

When the days of life are through,

What will be remembered of where I've come?

When all is said and done.

Will they say I loved my family?

That I was faithful friend?

That I lived to tell of God's own son?

When all is said and done.

Of how I long to see the hour,

When I would hear that trumpet sound.

So I could rise and see my Savior's face,

And see him smile,

And say 'Well Done.'

You can forget my name

And the songs I've sung,

Every rhyme and every tune.

But remember the truth of Jesus' love,

When all is said and done.

I am very blessed to have been loved by such a wonderful man. I am in awe of the legacy that he has left behind. I am thankful that I after my dad died, my Grandpa made sure he stayed active in our lives and filled in that gap that was missing as much as he could. I appreciate the pillar of strength and the God-serving foundation that he gave to our family.

Most importantly I am thankful that I serve a God who gave me the gift of eternal life...so that is not goodbye forever...miss and love you, Grandpa!!!!

The BEST day EVER!

On May 6, 2005 my life changed forever...I became a mom...to my sweet, red-headed, kind, smart, funny, full of life, silly, and handsome, Jett...and now he is 6 years old. He had countdown to his birthday going on for weeks. Everyone he came in contact with left knowing how many days until his birthday. Finally when the BIG day arrived...it was all that and more. He kept repeating all day long...This is THE BEST DAY EVER:)

The fun started with his class birthday party. He was very excited because the whole family got to come...I think he likes to show off his brother and sister (Greg and I are just transportation I think:) The theme for his birthday this year was dinosaurs (not gonna lie, pretty happy I didn't have to make a train cake:)! He wanted cupcakes at his party with dinosaurs on each one so his friends could have one. He is so thoughtful and I like being creative when it's super easy!!

After school we went to McDonalds...and then went to get him his birthday present...a new bike. I'll give you one guess what color of bike he wanted...RED. He didn't care what shape or size, as long as it was RED. Love him:)

Then we came home and decorated his dinosaur cake (I frosted and he got to put the dinosaurs where he wanted them)! The the real fun began when he had his very first friends birthday party. When I first told him he could pick 8 friends...he chose all girls...love him:) Needless to say, he was allowed 2 girls and the rest had to be boys:) The party was so much fun and all the kids did great. Jett has so many good and nice friends:) The day ended with his best buddy, Wesley, spending the night for his very first sleepover.

As a mom...nothing brings me as much joy as to see my kids happy...so Happy Birthday Jarrett...I'm so glad that you had The BEST day EVER!!!!
