Field Trip to the Fire Station

Yesterday Brayden and I got to go on his field trip to the New Paris Fire Station together. It was so fun to see his excitement...and I'm not gonna lie...a little stressful seeing how many buttons and gadgets a VERY curious 4 year old could touch.

We started off with a tour of the Ambulance. The kids learned about what was inside, got to hear their heartbeat and ride in a fun chair. Afterwards the lady turned on the lights and sirens for them. I prepared myself the whole time...but still jumped when she turned them on:)

They have a life size dummy to help with their drills, but also for the kids to see that a firefighter is not that scary. A lot of kids in a fire will run away from a firefighter, so this is a chance for them to touch it and see it's okay. Brayden would keep running up to it, touch it's helmet or lift up it's hand...and then run back to me. Baby steps...

We got to go inside a few fire trucks and see all their cool gadgets. Sitting on the engines were by the far the favorite of the whole group. At the end, we tried to get a class picture...and this is the best I could get of a group of 3-4 year olds.

Afterwards we went back to their classroom so they could have a snack, color some papers, sing songs, read books...and put on their very own paper helmet...this is big stuff for a 4 year old!

Who's Got The Best Husband?

I DO!!!!!

For my birthday and just because he loves me...Greg took vacation and sent me and a few friends to Chicago for a weekend get-away...that I desperately needed:)

He gave us his free points to stay at a rockin' downtown hotel...he even went out of the way to order us a cheese/cracker and fruit plate for our arrival. How thoughtful.

A few things we did on our Mommy's Gone Wild Weekend...

We ate like royalty (Coke was in my glass at all times) and want to know the best thing...I didn't have to cut up any one's food, I didn't have to stand up during my meal, I didn't have to discipline anyone or tell them not to hit their fork against the table.

We went shopping until we were exhausted!

Tried to go in the hot tub, but a thousand kids thought that would be a good idea too...

Saw Frank from the Ali's Bachelorette Season...and stalked him kindly by taking his picture while he exited the restaurant...we probably could have asked for a picture, but this was MUCH more entertaining.
We stayed up late and laughed for hours!!!! Sometimes because it was funny...sometimes because we were so tired...and sometimes because the "smells" were so bad that the only other option besides gagging, was to laugh.

I was in search of the "perfect" jeans...and found them...with the help of some great troopers that pressed forward after seeing jean colored spots and helped out:)

Realized that even though I am so happy to be a stay at home mom and so honored to raise my children in the best of my ability...it's so much better and more enjoyable...after a wonderful break.

The Birthday Girl!

Who knew PINK could be so much fun...or a girl:)

I can't believe that Kyla is 1 year old already. Quite often I find myself tearing up as I think about our precious gift. She is so wonderful and makes my days so happy and bright. She is truly a blessing! And let me tell ya...this blessing has a lot of spunk! She is a stinker that is starting quite the attitude. Warning...do NOT touch a toy that she is holding or that is hers or she will let you know about it with quite a scream...yep, it has already started.
She thinks it's fun to play in the snack cupboard. Usually she will take everything out and then sit in the cupboard. Cheap entertainment. However, not so cool when she finds an open granola bar package. Silly girl.
Loves to be mommy's little "helper" when I am unloading and loading the dishwasher. Pretty much she just takes out every single utensil...more work for me, but I can't deny her the fun:)
Very curious and already knows how to push the boundaries. She is sneaky and thinks getting in my plants and eating the dirt is hilarious.
Beautiful...just like her personality and sweetness. She is almost walking. She loves to eat (like a true Replogle does). Likes to dance and listen to music. Jabbers all the time as if she is speaking in full sentences. She is sleeping SO much better. Praise The Lord!!!! Thinks that sitting up on the couch is so fun and that she is big stuff. Loves to stand at the window and yell at the dog.

Isn't she adorable. I bought this flower for her and we will plant it in honor of her:) We had Kyla's Birthday party on Sunday and had a great turn out. It was so much fun spending the evening with family (even Greg's sister and her boys were here visiting and could make it) while celebrating our little miracle. She is one very loved little girl!

Not gonna lie...pretty excited to make a girl cake this year:) I was quite proud of my cake until Brayden came by and humbled me by saying "mommy, I really like your cactus..."

But she liked it and stuffed her face...first child of ours to eat their 1st birthday cake. We had fun watching her...and it was hilarious watching the boys help her. She didn't mind...probably because sugar overload had set in.

Happy Birthday, Kyla Suelyn...looking forward to another great year of watching you grow, creating more memories, holding you, kissing you, laughing with you and thanking the Lord everyday that you are in our lives. We love you!
