I got two bunnies! They were birthday gifts for Ronald so technically it's his but I don't really see it that way too. More like the bunnies are OUR pets (:
I adopted them online because I saw on twitter that someone cannot house these 2 bunnies anymore. Ronald and I once discussed about keeping a bunny together before so i thought why not? and I contacted the owner and she agreed to let me adopt them!
well i always thought that adopt = free = no cash outflow. however it wasn't in this case. I had to pay an adoption fee of $200. But after some research online i realized it is the norm. Anyway the ex-owner passed me so many things that amount to more than $200 i think! It certainly saved me alot of trouble to go get everything myself. She gave me food, pee pads, the pen with fences, water bottles and feeding bowls.
Originally, the 2 bunnies were named Cotton and Candy.Cotton is a male and Candy was supposedly a female. But ronald didn't like the name candy so we changed the grey bunny's name to Buns. so now it's Cotton and Buns. Thankfully we changed its name to Buns. If you didn't know, bunnies developed their sexual organs only around 6 months after birth and the previous owner had "her" for less than 6 months. She assumed Buns was a girl because Cotton kept humping it. After I have them for around 3 weeks, I started to realised Buns hump Cotton too. So one day while the humping was going on, we lifted Buns up and woah we saw his little penis! So Buns is a boy after all! That made things simpler because I wouldn't have to worry about separating them to prevent breeding. oh yeah im not sure why they hump each other still when they are both boys. hmm maybe i have a pair of gay rabbits? haha or maybe it is just a sign of dominuance.
yup so now after having them for more than a month already, I am starting to get used to them which includes the handling and the cleaning up. I also start to know each of their personality more. Cotton is a more introvert bunny and he doesn't like to be touched or picked up :( but i still love him! Buns is a more extrovert bunny and he is less afraid of humans than Cotton. But Buns can be a real pain in the ass sometimes, especially towards Cotton. He likes to snatch the area where Cotton had settled down peacefully for a nap. He likes to disturb Cotton all the time too. He also likes to tear things up and gnaw metal and wood pieces.
I also enjoy looking at Ronald playing with the bunnies too. It shows a gentler and less crazy side of him haha. Thankfully he loves the bunnies too (:
to end off this post, i shall post a photo of Cotton and Buns!
