Vote

This morning I told Brayden I was going to vote. He is 3 years old.
He was going to my friends Liz's house to play.
He asked " Mom where are you going?"
I said " To vote for the president"
He asked very confidently "Oh, you going to vote for President Monson?"
If only he could run our country! Our country would be in great shape!

One thing about being a parent is to watch your kids grow and gain strength with age. The other day, our dog Sunny had been lost for 3 hours. I told the kids I was not going to pick her up from the pound if she was there. Because last time it was over 100 dollars. ( Hoping it will in grave in their minds not to let her out ) Of course I was really going to pick her up.
Tannon said "Mom we will give you our money to pay for her to get out."I asked her if she had $100? She said no I have $6 but you can pay the rest.
Well Daylor decided that it was time to pray to for the Holy Ghost to "guide our Dog home." Not more than 2 minutes later Sunny showed up at our door muddy, but safe. Not only has Daylor grown up so quickly in spiritual strength, but also physical.
Flag Football has been a lot of fun to watch this year. We had to travel a bit to get him in a league that would take a 6 year old. Rusty was able to couch, which made it extra fun for me to watch. Daylor being right handed but throwing left, seemed to give him just a little more power and accuracy than most of his team. Most the time he was in the Quarterback position. He has always been a team player and able to get along with anyone. Even when he was a very small boy.
Well last game he was playing defence when a ball came flying uncontrollably in his direction. Struggling to keep it from falling, he intercepted it and made a 30 yard touchdown. He was running so fast I didn't have time to get a picture. Man was he so proud. He didn't want to boast so he just walk casually back to his spot on the field. It took him a couple of hours to start talking about what he had accomplished. Even if this were to happen to other boys on the team, they had a hard time running in the right in zone. LOL It is true.
I am so blessed to have such wonderful children. They are so strong. And give me strength to keep going when the going gets tough. What an example they are to me about being humble and turning to the Lord for help when we feel helpless.

Saint George Marathon

So one of my items on my bucket list was to run a Marathon. I did it! I didn't train at all b/c I was going to try for another baby. Well that never happened so the day before, a friend informed me they would not be able to run. So I jumped on the chance to run! Not sure if that was the best idea considering I ended up getting Plantar Fasciitis. A super painful problem with the muscles in both my feet. I could not even stand for 4 days. It was so Horrible. Anyway, my longest run was the Hurricane Half (12.1 Miles)Starting in Virgin and running to Hurricane High School. That was in May. Pretty much from May to October I ran a total of 15 miles, 2 at a time. There were several reasons I wanted to run the STG Marathon even if it was last minute.
1. We are moving soon and I don't know where.(Long story)So I wanted to run with my friends here who supported me to start running.
2. I am not sure if I have the will power to train. My friends were waking up at 5 am to run. No way I need my sleep or I am non-functioning whatsoever.
3. If you want to feel good about yourself no matter how slow you are at running, go enter a race 5k/10k whatever. You can do it and it feels good to cross that finish even if I am slow!
I Just want to add how grateful I am for a set of great friends.
Liz you have been so supportive and kept pushing me to keep going, and telling me I can do it when I thought I couldn't.
Mandy for being my running partner at a couple of runs. Even if I did want to throw up at Beat the Banker. Man wen ran 7 min 14 second miles that was fast.
Rusty for supporting my crazy last minute ideas, and putting up with me when I am so cranky and so sore I can't walk for days at a time.
Shelly Kidd-Thomas for being my last minute Marathon partner. Thank you so much I would have never finished if I didn't have you by my side. You were awesome. Giving all the kids high fives along the way, smiling while I wanted to cry.
4 hours 43 minutes later I crossed the finish line. Soaking wet. It rained the entire time. My shoes soles are so stiff I can't even bend them. I do want to do another one just in a couple of years. When I am done with kids and make time to train.

Awesome Recipe
Butter Yaki
So I am kindof cheating here! This is a recipe that my friend Rachel gave me, that she got from a friend. We ate dinner at thier house on Sunday and it was soo tasty and fun to make.
Rachel cut up fish, shrimp, steak, chicken, onions, mushrooms, peppers, eggplant and a few more things. (I know we totally got spoiled) Then we got to cook what we wanted on a buttered skillet. (Without seasoning the meats or veggies.)
Then she gave us our own bowl of Butter Yaki to dip our food into. Kindof like an at home samari 21 but, with a cuter cook. Anyway it was a fun low key meal to eat with/make with the fam. Or good to have with good friends like we did! So enjoy serve with some fried rice and you are good to go. ENJOY
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 T sesame oil
3-5 drops Tabasco
1 quarter-sized piece of ginger, peeled
2 T toasted sesame seeds
Bring first three ingredients to a boil. Add last four ingredients. Turn heat to low. Serve with rice and all manner of meats and vegetables fried in butter.
P.S. Thanks Rachel and Chad We love your company! P.P.S. I think it is time you post your award winning Peach Days recipe Rachel.

Run 4 Kids

So the past year I have picked up some crazy past times. One I never thought I would love is running. So being an aerobic instructor has a few atvantages other than getting paid to work out. I can get into a few local runs for free. Well my boss at Golds gym got my whole family in this one. The "Run For Kids" The kids ran a 1K. While Rusty and I ran the 5k. It was Rusty's first run and he placed 3rd in his age division. Ugh how annoying. I was sure proud. I took 2nd in my ade division, only because it was a small race. That was my ONLY chance. I still was very pround of myself for keeping a 7 minute 20 secound pace. Who would've thought. I coulnd't even finish a mile in high school. Well since then I have done a half marathon, 10k and few others. I couldn't walk for 3 days after the half, but it was worth it. If you want a good stress relief I highly recomend running. Also if you think you can't ever enter a race. Well your wrong. They are for anyone. Short and long ones. Some people even walk.
Dress-Up
You think dress up is just for girls. Well I did too. Tannon has the most fun convincing Daylor to dress up like a girl. She has also been known to put make up on both her brothers while they are asleep. Well It all started with RUSTY!!! He thought it would be great fun one day to surround Daylor with all of Tannon's barbies. Even placing one in Daylors hand. All During his nice sound sleep. Taking several pictures. Daylor knew nothing about it, nore did the rest of the family. Well the next day when Daylor was mis-behaving he threatened to tell the neighborhood kids that he played with barbies. (The worst possible thing you can do to a 6 year old boy going on 16.) Daylor said back to Rusty "No I don't dad!" Which Rusty thought was the perfect time to pull out the pictures of him sleeping with barbies. Daylor was so upset that he thought Rusty was going to show the pictures to his friends that he fell apart. So Rusty deleted them from the camera. So I can't show you dads sneaky trick pictures. But I did take these pictures of Daylor and Tannon willingly, with some bribing of course. Only because he could then bribe his sister as much as she could him. Rusty has some wierd ideas sometimes. I have to admit it was pretty funny. He even kept the sneaky pictures from me.

Here is something else I have been up to this summer. Sunny had 10 puppies over an 8 hour period on June 27Th. 7 boys and 3 girls. Man it had been a ton of work. They have been really fun. Don't think I will do it again though. I did learn how to give dogs a shot so I could save money, and how to help in the birthing process.

Swimming pool June 22nd
Daylor on the high dive friend on low

Daylor flipping around

Rusty and "BoBo" or Brayden which ever you prefer

Daylor again

Brayden our pro swimmer running and jumping off the diving board

We took the nieghborhood kids to the pool with us for a couple hours. They have never jumped off the diving board until this day. Daylor who is 6 has been diving of the board for 2 years now. His friend Clay who is eight just was a little wirey. Well before the day was done we had Clay (Daylors friend) not only jumping off the diving board but, he was doing flips and jumping off the high dive. Well 3 year old Brayden wanted to give it a shot after watching Tannon and Daylor. So we thought... what the heck. He can swim about the distance from the diving board to the side of the pool anyway. So here it is. By the way the first couple of jumps the pool was silent from on lookers. It was a complete sucsess. Now Rusty and I are sun burnt b/c the kids were having way to much fun to call it quites. 102 degrees outside. A small price to pay for a fun family and friends day.

Mom and Pops

Here is my mom and Dad at our last family reunion. It was In December of 2004. For the sake of our next one in a month I thought I would post an old and new one. Not the best of them but the only one I have on my computer at the time. Well I guess my Dad was not just acting weird b/c Tiger was on T.V. after all. He went in the hospital the next morning. He was getting dizzy and whiting out. Good news is he is home today and it is not his heart. Now the doctors are exploring some other options. The other Good news is while we were in the ER we got to watch Tiger Win the U.S. world opening. Going into the 3rd round, 19Th hole sudden death. I think it was all in his head and he just was stressing out for Tigers win. Just kidding Dad. Glad you are OK, I couldn't imagine life without you or Mom. Maybe next year you should just read the results.

Happy Fathers Day Rusty
How cute and photogenic these two are. Not fair! Anyway we went to mom and dads house for Fathers day. It was a relaxing day. (Besides sharing time in church.) Sarah my sister called our Dad, and then called me b/c dad seemed to be acting "weird" on the phone. Well I figured out why Sarah, he was watching Tiger Woods. Dads favorite thing to watch. Anyway I just wanted to add how much I love you Rusty. You are a wonderful Father to our kids. And look how cute our kids are and hot you look Rusty. I am a lucky girl.

Bite The Bullet
I have been avoiding the Blog thing for quite sometime now. I just prefer to Blog hop instead, but the more I fight it I think it could be therapeutic to write down all the crazy stuff that goes on in my life. Maybe then I won't feel so guilty for all the unwritten birthday, thank you cards and scrapbook pages I never wrote.
Rusty and I have been married for 8 years this years and have 3 children. I figure if you are on here you already know that much. Tannon age 7, Daylor age 6, Brayden age 3. They are pretty dang cute and always going. Between them Red Bull, teaching aerobics, being a waitress, parenting, primary pres., Sunday school pres., Rusty starting University of Phoenix, P90x, and everything else we are pooped 95% of the time. In the little spare time we have we like to go out eat of course, hang out with friends, and have family time. Now I am adding blogging in the mix in hopes to touch bases with those I love and never get to see or talk to as often as we would like.
