The Life God Planned

SNSS is sponsoring the CASE study challenge this week. Julee's card (http://casestudychallenge.blogspot.c...llenge-33.html) is beautiful and gave me the inspiration for this card. I decided to pair it up with the SCS Flower Frenzy challenge today. The sentiment I used here makes me think of the new life given to the caterpillar when it becomes a beautiful butterfly....the life God planned for it. It never ceases to amaze me that something as ugly (often times) as a caterpillar can transform into something as beautiful as a butterfly. We, too, can be like that beautiful butterfly if we just let go of the life we've planned and allow God to use us as HE planned :). Amen!

Cat Lovers Blog Hop 2016

Hello friends!

I am excited to be participating in the Cat Lovers Blog Hop today. If you know me, you know I love my kitties, so when asked if Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps would sponsor this hop it was a resounding yes! :)

For my kitty themed projects today I have a few things to share. First up is a fun Bible Journaling page that I created using LOL Cats, a set that was inspired by my own furbabies. Fluff, Tank, Squirt & Squeaker.

This set is FULL of fun images and sentiments that you will grab again and again!

I thoughts the images would working nicely for my page in Philippians about God supplying all my needs.

I had so much fun coloring the images and words for this page using my Prismacolor Pencils. I also used our Outline Alpha, Classy Script Alpha and Camden Market Alpha.

Next, I thought I would share a cute card I made using Diane Zechman's Valentine Critters stamp set. Talk about a fun set! I love all of the sweet images and sentiments in this set but that kitty is just adorable! :D

I love a good CAS (clean and simple) card and this was a fun one to make my adding some shaped elements, patterned paper and bling. I colored the sweet kitty image with my Copics. I love making valentines and even though it's only Fall I am getting the itch to break out this set again! :D

Speaking of valentines, here is another one I made with a sweet kitty image this time from a set I illustrated called Cute Critters. You don't have to be only a cat lover for this adorable set. It includes many other cute little critters for your pleasure!

Aren't they so sweet?! They will make the cutest cards for any occasion. Here's my kitty valentine...

This was a super simple card to create just by layering fun patterned papers and adding some twine and bling. The fussy cut kitty takes center stage. He was also colored with my Copic markers.

Thank you to Janis for inviting Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps to sponsor your hop and thank you everyone else for hopping along! :D

It's been.....a WHILE...

Wow! So I just looked and saw that I haven't blogged since January 2015....and you know what, I'm okay with that. In fact, even though the mood strikes me today, I may not blog again for a very long time. I'm just too busy running a home and a business so my stamping time is very seldom. I have also picked up Bible journaling over the last year + so you might see some of my Bible journaling pop up here, too, if time permits.

Today I thought I would share a couple of my cards from our 2016 Christmas release featuring Christmas Borders. This set has so many pretty images that are very easy to color.

http://www.sweetnsassystamps.com/christmas-borders-clear-stamp-set/
For this first one I gold embossed the words and the images and then colored them with Copics. The background was then watercolored and I added gold pen around the outside. The panel was double matted and then popped up with foam tape on a kraft card base.

For this one first I stamped the image and sentiment, colored the image and then grabbed some of my old Christmas patterned paper pads that coordinated. The layout is very simple with just the patterned paper matted on the card base. I then used a die cut border for the image and sentiment panel and added a thin strip of glitter paper and mounted it on top. Easy peasy!

I'll try to share some more cards with you over the next few weeks, if time allows, but if not, thank you for visiting and God bless!

2015$ Challenge

Happy New Year, friends!

2014 was a year of many ups and downs...many opportunities for growth...but most of all, opportunities to see the Lord at work.  I am so looking forward to what He will accomplish in 2015 for His glory!  I wish you the very best as you seek Him day by day.
My post for today is not my typical card share.  Today would like to ask for your help.  My sweet friend Julie and her family have felt the Lord's calling and are in the process of adopting a special needs child from China.  As I am sure you know, adoption, especially internationally, is a very expensive calling but YOU can help!
2015$ - Two Thousand Fifteens
There are in excess of 150,000,000 orphans in this world today!! That number is staggering and can seem quite overwhelming, but with your help, the Masses are excited to make that number ONE LESS!
"No ONE person can do everything, but we can all do ONE thing!"
Here's the challenge:
  • The Masses are looking for 2000 people to make a one-time donation of $15.00 to their YouCaring adoption site.
  • Once you have completed your donation, please SHARE this event with your contacts, your FB friends, family, etc.  The more people who see this, the greater chance we have to reach the goal of 2000 $15.00 donations!
  • PRIZES:  For every 50 donations made, they are gifting an exclusive, handmade Bracelets For One to a randomly drawn winner!!  (Check out their Bracelets For One FB page if you're interested in purchasing a beautiful bracelet! All proceeds from your purchase go to their adoption fund!)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and consider this worthy cause, for donating if you are able and for sharing this event.  Visit the 2015$ event page on FB to track the progress!

To read more about the Masses and their adoption journey, please visit their adoption blog: www.masseadoption.blogspot.com.
Blessings to you!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop-Blog Candy!

I'm joining the fun for the Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with a fun friendship gift tag I created this morning with some of my favorite stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  We're sponsoring the hop with a fun prize so play along for a chance to win!!

In addition to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps contributing some goodies, I am, too!  But you don't have to participate in the hop to enter, you just have to comment on this post to enter!  I'll share my prize at the end of the post....here's my creation....

I have TONS of these shipping tags (literally hundreds!!) that I purchased for a homeschool co-op project so I thought I would make a tag instead of a card.  I stamped the tag with some of the images from Pick Me Up, Special Blend and Delightfully Delicate Background.  I also sponged the edges to give it a more vintage-y feel.

The stack of cups was cut out with a die and colored with Copics.  I added some Stickles for a bit more interest....who doesn't love bling? :)

I hope you'll join the hop and check out all the fabulous coffee creations.

Here are the stamps and dies I used for my card...

Okay, now how about that blog candy!

I'll be giving away (25) shipping tags like the one I used for my creation above, (1) silver washi tape, (1) pack black rhinestones & (1) Cocoa's Latte stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

The winner will be announced early next week!
