Thunderbirds zoom into Andrews...

The girls had a particularly exciting weekend (mom and dad too!). Sarah was especially over the moon to meet The Thunderbirds and watch them perform. It was the annual Joint Service Open House Air Show at Andrews AFB. There were lots of people and lots of noise (from all the planes)! The windows shook in our base house! The girls were able to go "behind the ropes" to see them up close and personal several times. It's funny because you would think with three girls, Andy would have no one interested in an Air Show. Not the case in the Thornley household. They all want to be in the Air Force and now they all want to fly planes!

Blessings,

Happy 2009!

This is in front of the National Cathedral here in Washington, December 20, 2008!

Well, here it is, January 2, 2009 and my Christmas cards are still sitting on the kitchen table. They've been done since mid-December, I've just been waiting on the pictures to arrive to put in the cards. It's a slam to my pride of being on-time, but maybe a lesson for me right at the start of 2009. Please forgive the delay and perhaps we'll be the first to wish you Happy MLK day!
We hope this new year brings many blessings your way.

"W"

We were thrilled to get to see President Bush yesterday. He was returning to Andrews, so we headed to the terminal to stand by and wave. He stepped off the plane, waved at us and walked to Marine 1. I know he waved at us because we were the ONLY ones standing there! Ha!
We were hoping he'd walk over and say hello, but he didn't. It was still a thrill. Thought I'd share some pictures.

Blessings from The President's Airport,
LT

We've enjoyed some traveling since Andy's homecoming. We took the girls to Williamsburg, Jamestown, Busch Gardens and Yorktown, VA. We had a wonderful time.
Then we headed to Gettysburg and Amish Country for a few days without the children. We had a restful, wonderful trip.
Blessings,
LT
