i should mention that i'm pissed off that facebook changed the links to the pictures before their continual facelifts. i hope they stop doing that anymore.

because now my blog looks empty without the pictures i linked in the previous posts.

(disclaimer: i'm not feeling depressed or emotional..just philosophical. an analogy that came to mind, which i think kind of makes sense.)

sometimes i think of the heart as being made up of Jenga pieces. and these Jenga pieces are the people in our lives. the heart started out small, but brave and strong and complete. not knowing that stacking itself with more blocks meant increasing the risks of a collapse.

maybe that's why there's a saying that advises one to choose friends wisely. but the young heart didn't know.

until there comes a certain time in life that all the blocks started to have many other things thrown their way, their own Jenga stacks to maintain, that eventually, some chose to leave. and with their departure left empty spaces. some of whom could be the more fundamental pieces. the ones you put closest to the core.

when they left, the heart can only try its best to restabilise the remaining infrastructure. because as the game goes, these gaping holes are irreplaceable.

i don't know how many times i can be surprised that people still visit this place.

(it's funny how someone comes here, leaves it for several months, then comes back again and believes that i'm still feeling emo.....because of having re-read the previous blog entry. HMM. haha.)

so i decided not to leave the last one emotional. i mean...there are more ups than downs in my life and sometimes i just like to wallow in self-pity for a while and simply indulge myself in the whole i'm-a-cool-brooding-musician image. maybe subconsciously, i feel that in order to experience higher highs, i need to go down the lower end. sometimes.

don't you agree? that a person who hasn't experienced a low enough low, cannot appreciate a high as much as a person who has.

now, give me a five if you're still reading this and actually ponder on it long enough that it makes sense.

"as a dear friend who sacrificed an hour of her kdrama will say of me and the arts..

me..and the arts.

that one really stumped me. and kept me stumped for at least a week now.

well, let's say, i majored in civil engineering. one might then easily assume that about sums it up for me.

but, no..it's far from simply just that. and cliche as it might seem, my life would be nothing without the arts.

i'm different as engineers go.

that's what everybody says, right?


but this is what i do with my work.


i can't do without colours.

and photography. i love capturing the everyday moments in life. and how the pictures capture the priceless expressions on the faces of those i love and make them eternal.

they say a picture paints a thousand words. i'll let my thousands of pictures do their work.

for me, the arts is a lot of aesthetics. i mean, i do watch musicals and read books..





yet, have you seen my hair lately?


they come in shades of orange, purple, pink..

i like how fashion defines me. the combination of all that science, math and art that comes into play intrigues me.

so i've gone missing for a while again.

i can't help it, i've really been very busy.

i've had a staycation at sentosa and spent a day in the universal studios doing stuff like..

all in all, a very fun day before my future holiday periods being restricted to just school holidays....

..and the girls told me they preferred me like that :( hahaha. it was an interesting experience. having my focus slow in alignment with my movements. ears slightly muted and the little hangover thereafter.

this is just a book review. (warning: boring)

i've finally started reading this book i bought months ago.



an inquisitive kid in mel's school asked me, "teacher, what book are you reading?", and i showed him the cover accompanied with an evil don't-mess-with-me-or-you'll-be-the-eaten-one smile. true story.

i'm almost always sold by covers. despite the popular saying everybody knows.."do not judge a book by its cover". when it comes to books and practicality these days, i think it's safe to say, you can actually judge a book by its cover. because..if the book isn't good enough to sell, the publishers wouldn't be silly enough to invest (on the cover).

anyway, this one..i loved the title. the paradox formed from the title and the words, "fairy tales", that comes immediately after intrigues me. always such a sucker for happily-ever-afters.

but, what a surprise.

each of these authors seem to want to outdo the previous author's twistedness.

twisted plots, thoughts, whatever, scares me (depending on severity). they remind me of how dangerous people can be. how these dark thoughts or actions can manifest in people's minds and then carried out.

they remind me of the fine line between the ability to hold yourself together and letting your destructive impulse rip.

a quarter into the book and it's all doom and gloom. not the most frightening of books (quite acceptable, actually) but definitely not the type of bedtime stories you'd want to tell a child.

this is the first book i read that i had to make a conscious effort to switch off my itunes to fully immerse myself in the plots. interesting read.

maybe, dare i hope, in the later half of the book, it'd be all bright and sunny again. doesn't have to be chick flick-ish. i accept some rain (they can be thought-provoking) but i'd like to see the silver lining too. after all, language and literature can be beautiful and classy without using the cupid or having to be deranged to proof that as adults, we should be mature and wise enough to embrace dark 'reality'.

okay, enough of my humble opinions :)

maybe someday, you can read it for yourself (when i'm done with it), right, zero?

because sometimes you feel that life is all about darkness..(but it's not)



i love how the french never fail to make piano music in movies so hauntingly beautiful. it always has it's own role to play..it's own story to tell.

something i really believe only the french is capable of doing.
