14th of Feb, another normal day or should I say hectic and tiring for a single like me. I had class from 9am to 5pm with only 2 hours split break in between for me to ease my hunger. I know its Valentine cause I just couldn't ignore those passer bys with bouquet of flowers or gifts. A lot of people say that it is a day which love is in the air, however in my point of view is a great business opportunity. Shops can sell more gifts, chocolates and florists prepare more flowers especially roses that are ready to be sold in a much higher price than normal. It is a day to celebrate and spend time with the one you love, not to help commercialise a day like this.
I was so worn out when I reached home in the evening. I check my emails, nonetheless a bulk of junk mails that promoting their Valentine's gift. Clicked on the icon empty and feel good for clearing a space for my mail box. Next thing was the search for food. 2 packs of Indomee as dinner for Valentine's Day, how wonderful life could be! Less hazards while I do not have the need to look for a restaurant in town that has a romantic ambience like most couples do. Wonder why can't couples just enjoy their time at home, just the 2 of them, cook and care for each other. Wondered why Lin did not go out for dinner with 'Dad'(I call him Dad) and her replied was all restaurants had been fully booked. I wished I was one of the restaurant owner at that particular moment. Money!!!!!
I had a whole night reading and researching on my essay and project, little progression but better than none. I was online for a while to look for people to ease my boredom. Some asked how was my day and I answered study. His reaction was:" Flirting with books for whole day on 14th Feb? That's the worst I heard". It might have been if I did not hear from the other 2 friends who were in shituation of the day. They become single, broke up with the bf/gf on Valentine's Day which 'Love should be in the air'. How irony was it! The girl got dumped after looking forward for more than a week since her ex-bf told her that there is a surprise he secure for her. Indeed a big surprise that comes along with disappointment. For the guy version, I believe it was a big quarrel which leads a relationship to an end. Anyway, all I want to comment and tell them is if you have found Mr/Mrs Right everyday is Valentine's Day. So for the moment, Welcome to the CLUB SINGLE!!! There are much more choices out there in the whole wide world with 6.6 billion of people. For those who do not know how to appreciate your personality, effort and love is not worth your hatred nor tears. Move on with life!
Love is complicated and simple at the same time depending on how you gonna treat it. It is simple because love is just affection and a feeling for somebody that you really care. It becomes complicated when responsibilities and hopes that might not be able to reach fall into the category of love and relationship. Think about it!
