A Little Star Struck...

So my mom, brother, and I were at Perimeter Mall in Atlanta killing sometime before we went to pick up my sister from the airport. Well, of course I had to stop in at Anthropologie (one of my favs). Well as I was walking in I hear a voice say, "Katy!" I turned and see this lovely lady with her two babes. Honestly my first thought was...we are really good friends, but how do I know her? Then after my 2 second brain fart I realized in was JENNA! Seriously I was a little star struck. (cheesy I know) Jenna is a fellow blogger (much better than me) and I have been following her for sometime now.
I remember when I first found Jenna (through a friend of a friend of a friend...) of course I first noticed that she had great hair and then as I began to read her blog I thought, "oh my goodness I love this girl, we would totally be best friends!"

Well since that day we have contacted each other. Although she hasn't lived in Georgia for awhile her parents live here. We had talked about meeting for lunch sometime when she came into town to visit her parent, but honestly I believed she thought I was a "weirdo." So meeting for lunch was never really going to happen.
However, our love for anthropologie fashions and decor brought us together! And Jenna and her family were just as delightful in person as they are online!

It was a very happy day!
p.s. turns out she doesn't think i'm a "weirdo" YAY!
p.s. if you would like to read Jenna's blog you can find it here

ITALY!

Yes I went to Italy for A WHOLE MONTH for a study abroad!
Honestly if I tried to blog about the whole experience it would take me hours, which is why I kept a VERY detail journal while I was there. I learned so very much that I cannot properly articulate. I truly left a piece of my heart in Italy.
Below is 5 out of literally over 2,000 pictures that I took!

KDE Induction

When I started my freshman year at UGA I vowed to never get involved in sororities, because the just have such a stigma. However last year I joined Kappa Delta Epsilon, which is more of a professional honors society of educators! So below is the induction ceremony...I'm officially a KDE!

Wheel Chair Football and Twilight Races

Through my involvement with UGA's Special Olympics I was able to plan and execute concessions for the annual wheelchair football tournament. I had never seen wheelchair football in person...I couldn't believe how incredibly talented and competitive it was! Amazing!

My #1 Helper!

Then later that night Jared and I along with a few friends watched the annual Twilight races in downtown Athens. It is our goal every year to see a good crash (I know that sounds awful) and WE DID! Mission Accomplished!

Genre Project and CRCT Feelings!

For one of my projects in school I had to do a genre project, so I choose interracial adoption. For my project I created four genres. First was a list of children's book related to adoption, the next was a PowerPoint of a interracial family I know, third was an interview with the family, and fourth was a collected of birth announcement of interracial adoptions. This project was very cool!

For a different class we collected data for an entire semester on students, teacher, and other faculties opinions about the C.R.C.T. and we complied it and made a C.R.C.T. wall. This was very empowering and enlightening. My contribution was a few quotes and the string up students pictures.
I took pictures of how the student felt about C.R.C.T. and wrote their one word response under it.
