Father's Day BBQ

My big bundle of love-Spencer. At 6 months, he weighed in at 21 lbs 6 oz. And, can't forget that dang cute smile. He is sure fun. Oh, can't forget that he popped his first tooth at 6 1/2 months.

The cook--Grandpa George

Braden is learning all about laying out. He is copying Tyler's cousins.

Karson loves the diving board! I don't know how many belly flops he did, but they don't hurt him because of his life jacket.

Braden loves to jump off also.

Dad showing off!

Brynn and dad practicing swimming

Gma Jan with Spencer--he likes this warm water much better than the cold water at the Rec. Center.

Cute little bug!

Braden's First Pet Fish

Braden went to a b-day party for Caden and was given a gold fish as a door prize. He caught it in a game. Anyway, I have no food, so I got some from Mason G. house and we tried to help this little fish live. The living quarters is a vase from gma Roundy's house. Anyway, this sweet little fish, as you can see from picture number 2, died. It didn't even live more than 24 hours in our care. Braden was pretty sad, but bounced back pretty good. It was a good experience. He got to flush it down the toilet for the fish funeral.

Slip-n-Slide

I have to remain sane this summer with all the heat. I have a pass to the Rec. Center, however, dragging four children there is a little hard by myself, so we accomplish the Rec. Center as a family. Anyway, here is a fun slip-n-slide that the kids have sure enjoyed and will continue to enjoy. We also put the sprinkler under the trampoline and jump. This sure doesn't compare to the beach, but we have our fun!

Tubby Time

Here is a cute picture of Brynn and Spencer. I know that Brynn loves to have someone to bathe with now that Braden and Karson are taking showers. Brynn is a big helper in the bath and helps me wash Spencer.

Chocolate Cake

Two brothers enjoying what they would call the best food on earth-- CHOCOLATE CAKE AND MILK. Dallin said he is sure it is in heaven. If so, I am sure Grandpa Hal is enjoying his fair share!

Braden's Birthday

Braden's Birthday was low key at our house. I guess that is my fault because Birthday's were not such a big deal in my house growing up. We only made a big deal about turning 8, 13, and 16. You can guess the milestones. Anyway, Braden is opening his present from mom and dad in this first picture. It is classic wrapping paper--newspaper--as you can see. There is a funny story to go along with this present. I will tell it after the picture below.

Mom and dad gave him a skateboard. Ok, the story. The day before Braden's birthday, mom finally went shopping looking for something cool and neat. I had plenty of ideas, but finally decided on a skateboard. So, being the mom I am, bought two of them. One for Braden, and one for Karson at his birthday a couple of months later. Tuesday was a bit of a windy day, as there was to be a storm on Braden's birthday which was Wednesday. Anyway, Karson wanted to fly his kite. So, mom got his kite from the basement(I knew they were downstairs because I put them all away--except Brynn's was left in the truck). So, as we were flying his kite, Braden decided to look for his kite. He got the truck keys, unlocked the doors and was looking. Instead of finding his kite, he pulled out two skateboards and put them on the grass. Calling to Karson to look at these cool skateboards. I looked over to see them and was frustrated because my surprise was ruined. All because a smart boy was looking for his kite that was put away. Needless to say, I put the boys in timeout. Tyler said it was not appropriate because after all, he didn't mean to. He was just being a boy looking for a kite and found other neat toys in the truck. So, my surprise was ruined. Oh well, I talked with Braden and Karson about what had happened and they were fine. As for the other scooter, I used the excuse that it is going to go to my nephew for his birthday!! We'll see if my sweet little Karson even gets one. Who knows?!?

This is Braden's Birthday party. These are all the kids who came. They are such a fun group and we had a great time.

Upper row: Jax, Annakate, Caden, Delanie, Luke
Bottom row: Mason E, Sam, Braden, Mason G, Karson

Braden and Karson are playing "army." This was a gift he received from Luke. He loves it!

At the beginning of the party, the kids all decorated their own grab bag with foam stickers. It took lots of time and was fun and creative.

The balloon poping relay!!

Basketball relay.

Braden received many gifts from his friends. We are so glad that he has such good friends. Thanks everyone!! Here are a few gifts he received for remembrance purposes: Huge frisbee, army men, three super soakers, superman guys, cars movie cars, pirahna panic game, and candy! Grandma Jan and Brad gave Braden some baseball bases, and a basketball. Jodi completely spoiled Braden at the store with multiple items like a bow and arrow, hockey sticks and puck, yo-yo, and more. Thanks everyone!!

Kite Flying

About a month or so, Karson spent a dollar of his at the Dollar Tree and bought a two kite package. So, Karson and Braden have tried to fly their kites for a while here at our house. The wind is just not good at our house, and the quality of the kites is definitely 50 cents. So, we promised them that we could fly them at the ranch one day. Even though they were not the greatest, we knew they could probably fly them in open space and more wind at the ranch. Then, to our surprise, Andrew and Michelle bought the kids these better kites. So, on memorial day, we went to the ranch and the kids enjoyed flying their kites with the wind up there. It was fun to see their smiles because they were having success. Here are a picture of each of the kids flying their kites.

2007 Memorial Day

Memorial Day has become a Rees tradition! We start the day by visiting the site where Grandpa Hal was buried in Croydon. Next, we go to the ranch and we eat, play, visit, shoot guns, play, eat more, and have a bunch of fun. It is nice to see all the family, how much the family has expanded, what everyone is doing, and where everyone is. It turned out to be a great day! They weather cooperated and the food was delicious.

This is the family at Gpa Hal's grave.

This is Brynn at one of the kids games. The idea is to shoot down the empty pop cans with a bigger squirt gun. When that is completed, the kids receive their own little squirt gun. Brynn loves her little squirt gun and keeps on shooting the cans.

This game is the famous target shooting with the paint ball guns. Man, these things are heavy as mom found out. Each of the kids gets to shoot with the help of a parent, and they love to see the color splat everywhere--that is when they hit the target!!

Karson is getting better at shooting every time we take him!

Braden is a dead eye!
Karson flying high in the tire swing!
Braden flying high also.
Look at that yummy food!!
Braden is riding with Jared. Cousin Roger brought this little pony to the ranch for the kids to ride behind. Roger has his own little ranch, so he knows how to have fun at a ranch. The kids really had a bunch of fun, and the little pony got plenty of exercise!!
Karson is in the hoodie with Gracie.
Brynn enjoys her ride behind the pony!
