Braden Kindergarten Program

Braden had his end of school year program on Thursday May 24th. Grandma Jan was able to come and it turned out to be a great program. Braden did awesome! I can't believe that he is almost a first grader.

He is sitting here next to the cute girl Jacee in denim with his hands clasped together.

This is Braden swinging a little monkey during the song "5 little monkeys." This was actually supposed to be done by a different student, but he didn't want to do it, so Braden was asked to do it last second by Mrs. Flannery. He did awesome!

Here Braden is holding the number "8" during the numbers song.

Here Braden is saying his part. "I knew it was going to be My Lucky Day!"

Ranch Quarry

We went up to the ranch to escape the city, ride, have tin foil dinners and see family. It was a bunch of fun as it always is.

This is in front of a big huge bulldozer. If we would have taken the picture to fit the entire scoop, we would have been dots! These machines are huge digging in the quarry for rock!

This is a scoop from a digger. It is huge!

The entire crew in the scoop!

The kids can hardly believe that the scoop is this big! They are like three tiny rocks inside.

Spencer's First Bites

This is my bundle of love eating food for the first time. He likes rice cereal, and getting messy!!

Mother's Day

We went to Wyoming for a short visit for Mother's Day. The kids enjoyed gathering grass for the horses and feeding them. Trying to touch or catch the fish in the pond and play, play, play. Brad must have pitched for an hour to Braden and Karson and a few extras here and there playing baseball. Then there was a time for swinging, soccer, basketball, and can't forget eating. We enjoyed our visit and hope grandma Jan did also. Happy Mother's Day Jan.

Look at those fish. This is a hit every time we go and visit.

The crew!

Brynn would get the grass close and then she would drop it before it would get to the mouth. I caught it and fed it to the horses. I guess she has a right to be scared because their mouths are four times her tiny little hand.

Very, Very Tired

Brynn is about the age where naps are a good thing on some days, and not on others. And, sometimes Brynn waits until it is 6 or 7 o'clock before she finally collapses for a nap.

This particular day, she did not want to nap. Mom tried to put her down several times, but she was stubborn and wanted to ride and play with the boys and neighbor kids. We had TaLonnie and Ryan coming for dinner and to have Ryan help us with our computer issues. So, we had to put off dinner until 7:00. This is fine for families who are used to that schedule, but we were starving because we usually eat dinner at 5:30. My boys thought they were going to wilt and die.

Just before 6:30 pm, I could not find Brynn anywhere. I looked all over and found her in the neighbors yard sleeping on her scooter. Her nose is smashed in, and she is completely out. I took her into the house to have a short nap because afterall, bedtime was in a short two hours. This late nap idea is not fun and will hopefully pass soon.

Crazy Sleeper

Brynn fell off her bed in the night, moaned a little bit and went back to sleep. I went to check on her when I heard the big noise thinking she will be screaming. No crying, she fell right back into her deep sleep. This picture is taken in the morning after she rolled out of the blankets I covered her up with on the floor and is under her bed. She must have been sleeping really well, and having good dreams!!

Fake Owie

Brynn came to me from outside crying. I was watching from the window and she fell down on the grass while running. She told me her owie was on her nose. I tried to show her that there was no owie in the mirror, and that she was OK. She still insisted on a band aid. I never really knew how important, and fast healing band aids can really be. So, I put a band aid on and thought that she would peel it off pretty quick as she does the rest of the band aids. However, she kept this one on all day. We went to the store, doctor(for her--she had pink eye--can you tell from the picture), and bank with this darn band aid on. I would constantly ask "Is it better? Can we take off the band aid?" Brynn would not take it off until jjust prior to coming home from all the errands. All that and no owie!!

Scooter Park

Braden was jumping with his scooter and having tons of fun!

Brynn calls this her scooter. She has no fear and was cruising all over the hills also. She needs to grow a little and will be able to move on to a bigger ride.

Karson has speed and then jumps. He is very good on his scooter.

The kids went to a fun park where they could ride their scooters up, down, and around hills and more. It was such a hit, we went back the next day. I am sure it will be visited frequently this summer.

Boys Soccer

Awesome soccer player Braden!

Karson's team U5. Dad as coach.

Awesome soccer player Karson!

What a fun and busy season it has been. Karson plays on Tuesday's, Braden on Wednesday's with a few Saturday's mixed in. Funny how their team colors are same, but opposite. We were assigned these colors--no picking involved. The boys have had fun and progressed with their skills. Hopefully next year will be successful as well.

Journal Entry

Today I am writing about the events of the week. I have decided that I will do better with writing journal like entries. This past weeks events are many.

To start off, Braden and Karson just finished their first swimming lessons at the Recreation Center. Their teacher was really good and the boys have really gained a lot of confidence in the water. They both passed level 2 and will move to level 3 later on in the year. Mom and Dad will continue to work on the skills with them. I am proud of their desire to learn and grow. Water is scary, however, learning to swim is a life saving and very important safety measure.

The next of events is that Spencer rolled over by himself for the first time. He was 3 days shy of being 5 months old, but is progressing just great. He is full of smiles and loves attention.

My dad, Floyd, went into the hospital with heart problems. He had a HR of 150-160 when he entered. He was released 4 days later and is doing much better. We appreciate technology and the power of the priesthood--both of which we believe have helped him through another difficult situation with his heart.

Braden and Karson both started up the spring season with soccer again. Both boys have improved and are showing off their skills on the field. Karson just had a game on Saturday and the other team only had two players show up. Karson volunteered to play on their team for a practice game. He did fabulous against his own teammates!!

Gas prices reached $3.00 a gallon for the cheap stuff! OUCH!! How can we even go anywhere? I feel like I need to ride my bike to buy groceries, or even better, drag my wagon and fill it up and then come home.

We scheduled our big family trip for this summer. Tickets are bought, hotel scheduled, etc. My parents, my older sister and kids, and my entire family are going back to CT and NY to see my little sister and family. We are leaving Aug 6th and will return Aug 14th. Can't wait to play at the beach and enjoy the fun back east. Kids can hardly wait. Yeah!!!

That is the events as of lately. I will put in another journal entry later to keep up. This idea came from a sister in Relief Society. She said write a journal entry a week of the fun, great, and sad. With today's schedules as busy as they are, I found this to be a great idea.
