Today I'm Wearing Pearls
June Cleaver written all over it. Love it.
I have a friend.
An artist.
And very kind friend, at that.
She's my friend because she treats me to lunch...at her house.
Because she's so proud of her kids.
Because she thinks W is as cool as I think he is.
She's my friend because she reads this blog nonsense of mine, yet still takes me seriously.
Seriously enough that when she sees above item, she purchases it on the spot.
Because we're friends.
She's my friend because now I have a reason to wear pearls everyday, even just around the house.
I suppose she's embraced my inner Mrs. Cleaver.
So she must not take me too seriously.
Thank you, friend. Thank you so much.

Say Salsa With Me
- got a wild hair and decided to make homemade salsa yesterday.
- why not?
- tried my hand at the delicious Pioneer Woman recipe.
- sort of my own take on it.
- fresh tomatoes.
- including a BeaUtiful yellow one.
- so beautiful I wanted to take a picture of it.
- but i didn't.
- tomatoes were from the local farmer guy up the road.
- he always has the same suspenders on each time I see him.
- since I was making salsa, he threw in three more tomatoes.
- so nice.
- if I liked tomatoes, that is.
- did you know I don't like tomatoes?
- hate them.
- but I love salsa.
- love it.
- just sayin'.
- i grew the cilantro in my back yard.
- my very own cilantro.
- i felt like the farmer up the road, taking in my harvest.
- though i don't own suspenders.
- and my garden consists of two pots on my back patio.
- and i would never hand out additional tomatoes, if unsolicited.
- just sayin'.
- turned out to be the best salsa ever.
- probably because of the beautiful yellow tomato.
- and my very own cilantro.
- so good, in fact, i finished off the bag of tortilla chips at lunch.
- just sayin'.

In His Element
Loved watching him sing every lyric to every song.
Loved hearing Hotel California and In the City live.
This is what all summer concerts should be like.

Hammer Time
Tonight we were sitting in the family room when we turned around and saw W atop the kitchen counter.
That's right folks.
Life is officially over. I will now be a full-time climbing monitor.
W was quickly returned to the family room, at which point Dave made a suggestion:
"Hey Winston, my tool bag is in the other room. There's a hammer in there, too. Why don't you go get that and really bang everything up."
Hmmm...I wouldn't put it past him.

Innsbrook Tri
Dave finished his first triathlon. He was so disciplined when it came to training. He ended up finishing ahead of his goal, too.
What a champ. Good job, D! I'm impressed. And super proud.
{W watching D head down to the water.}
{Hallelujah! Made it out of the water.}
{Killed the bike.}
{Finisher! I failed miserably and missed him crossing the finish line. Gah!}
