NOLA

We headed over to New Orleans last Friday after school and work. We got to the Super Dome right after the game started. We were ready for some football. The girls enjoyed all of the festivities and action going on. I think Lily enjoyed it most of all. She clapped and danced and hooped and hollered.
Saturday we got up and had a great breakfast and hit the streets. The Red Dress run was in full swing. There was a sea of red dresses in the Quarter. It was alot of fun seeing all of the crazy red get-ups and all of the men in red dresses . That with the street performers was the best free entertainment around. it was sooo hot that the girls just couldn't go anymore. We took a carriage ride to have a little break. By the time we got to the French Market the girls and Glen were sitting down while I looked for flip flops for poor Ave Kate's aching feet. We made it back to our room after that and took a little rest before we went out to eat. Afterwards we took the girls for a night time swim in the pool to end the evening. Sunday we met Erin and Lee and friends at the House of Blues for the gospel brunch. It was a nice weekend!

Celebrations..

Lily then and now after 2 years!

Its hard to stay up with this blog lately so I need to combine a few celebrations.. Lily turned 5 on July 28! We celebrated all week-starting with a Build-a-Bear birthday party in Jackson with her cousins. It was such a cute fun party for the girls. Everyone made their own bear and chose an outfit. Afterwards we went to Erin and Lee's house for some Hello Kitty birthday cake and gifts. Lily was glowing with all of the attention. Later in the week on her actual birthday we had cupcakes and Lily got a brand new pink big wheel! Right after came Gotcha Day celebration. We went out to eat pizza for that special day. So needless to say Lily very much enjoyed the limelight and being the big Tomato for awhile. She is one scrappy little girl!
