Beach for Easter

We made a quick trip to Panama City Beach for a long weekend since the girls were out of school Friday and Monday. There was an Earth Day celebration on the beach Friday evening. We had fun sitting on our beach blankets listening to the band with the waves and ocean breeze in the background. The next day we spent the day at the pool. Ave Kate is swimming like a little mermaid now like Olivia. Hopefully Lily will start swimming this summer without swim aids. They really love the water.
Sunday we got up early for the sunrise service that was supposed to be on the back bay of the property. We never found it so I went to Mass later at the church I have have gone to before there. I love Easter morning service so much. The Easter bunny found his way to the beach and left plenty of candy. We were back at the pool for the afternoon and enjoyed a nice Easter meal later that afternoon that I cooked-ham and all.
The girls and I left Monday morning and stopped in Destin for a little shopping before going home. Glen stayed to for the rest of the week and had friends down to play golf (while we got back to the regular grind of school and work..) go figure..

Sweet Caroline

Don't blink. It seems like yesterday that I was doing little girl things with this one. She was my little side-kick for so many years. Always there, sweet, loving and caring...always seeing the best in people and the positive side of life, always helping others and bringing a smile to faces... Well, at least some things haven't changed... She is just a wonderful young lady now. Happy Birthday Caroline!

Girl Scout Campout at Audobon Zoo

I uploaded the pictures last week and then forgot to post them..
Last Saturday night our Girl Scout troop got to go to the zoo in New Orleans for a campout. It was so much fun! We arrived at 6 pm to get set up. The girls put the tent together in about 10 minutes with only minimal help from me. We then had zoo talk time with the zookeepers who introduced several animals and told all about them. After that there was s'mores, a little singing and then a late night walk through the zoo. It was really dark and we couldn't take flashlights because it would keep the animals up. The girls all loved it. After that it was in the tent with lights out. We could hear the lions roaring from their nearby habitat. It was really neat. We all slept well which surprised me-I can't remember the last time I camped out-and I usually don't sleep well anywhere. The next morning we got up and had a nice continental breakfast. We then broke our tents down and packed up and went on a morning walk through the zoo where we could see the animals in daylight. It was a great and memorable experience.
