Music Recital

Olivia and Ave Kate had their first music recital today. I will have to admit that I was nervous for them. No need for that-they did great. We were so proud of both of them and how well they did. Dad had a hard time not tearing up when his girls so bravely played their solos. There was alot of young talent there with a variety of instruments and voice. Lily told us that next year she will be in the recital and sing "We Wish you a Merry Christmas". I can't wait!

Tea Party

Bianca had a nice birthday party this evening at the Mockingbird Cafe. All of the girls came in their Sunday best and were treated to tea, lemonade, finger sandwiches and cupcakes. They made necklaces and had manicures. Everyone had fun and it was a nice way to end a beautiful weekend.

Spring Break 2011

Another year at Hilton Head..it was beautiful and peaceful. We ate some great food and did a little shopping at our favorite places. Olivia and Daddy played golf two of the days at some very nice courses and enjoyed their time together. Ave Kate, Lily and I went on a bike excursion. I had the cart on my bike and trekked them all over the place-beach, park and all the wonderful bike trails they have there. How I wish we had those at home. I would bike everywhere.
The weather was a little chilly so we didn't get much pool or bathing suit time on the beach. That didn't stop us from beach walks, sand castle making and shell seeking. The only complaint I have about the trip is that it ended way too soon!

Mardi Gras Fun

Mardi Gras time again here. We weren't going to get in the parade scene this year but we made an exception. Both of my brothers and their wives were in town and going to the parade in Waveland. I couldn't pass up spending time with them so we met them there. It was alot of fun. After about the first half all the girls warmed up to their uncles that they don't get to see often and were vying for time on Jimmy's shoulders to catch beads. Olivia was happy to see her cousin Seth. He was there with his friend in their Mardi Gras wigs and looked mighty cute.
The best Mardi Gras parade was Ave Kate's school. The first graders read books and make Mardi Gras floats based on the books that they read. They parade around the gym with there floats. A Mardi Gras court is chosen from those that read the most books. Ave Kate had a reading part in the presentation. It was a very cute production.
