Goodbye to 2011

Its hard to believe another year is almost gone. Time is passing so quickly-as is obvious with this blog. I can't believe it was summer when I last posted. So quick summary of last few months...The girls are all enjoying school. Olivia is in third grade and Ave Kate is in 2cd. Lily is in her last year at her pre-school. Since Halloween we have been on the go. We spent Thanksgiving in Newport Coast, California and had a wonderful time. We got to see my aunt and cousins in San Diego who I haven't seen for almost 10 years and enjoyed a great visit. We went to LA and ate at Pinks and shopped at The Grove. We went to Legoland and the girls loved it-especially the snow. We enjoyed the beautiful Pacific beaches, went to a neat festival at Laguna Beach, and visited San Juan Capistrano Mission. We ate good food and shopped at Fashion Island.
When we got home we hit the ground running preparing for Christmas. Olivia and Ave both had birthdays. We had a family gathering in Meridian. We went to New Orleans for the weekend with kids and grandkids. Erin and Lee (and Zeus) came in Christmas Eve. We had a nice Christmas Eve with church, a nice dinner and old friends dropping by. Santa came and brought plenty of toys. All were happy. Tuesday we went to Point Clear to enjoy a few days off and did alot of relaxing-alot of relaxing! I took most of our Christmas decorations down today which was a full day of work. We still have family coming over tomorrow for more celebration. I wish the holidays could just go in slow motion instead of fast forward.
I don't think we will make it until midnight so I wish you all a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year!

NOLA

We headed over to New Orleans last Friday after school and work. We got to the Super Dome right after the game started. We were ready for some football. The girls enjoyed all of the festivities and action going on. I think Lily enjoyed it most of all. She clapped and danced and hooped and hollered.
Saturday we got up and had a great breakfast and hit the streets. The Red Dress run was in full swing. There was a sea of red dresses in the Quarter. It was alot of fun seeing all of the crazy red get-ups and all of the men in red dresses . That with the street performers was the best free entertainment around. it was sooo hot that the girls just couldn't go anymore. We took a carriage ride to have a little break. By the time we got to the French Market the girls and Glen were sitting down while I looked for flip flops for poor Ave Kate's aching feet. We made it back to our room after that and took a little rest before we went out to eat. Afterwards we took the girls for a night time swim in the pool to end the evening. Sunday we met Erin and Lee and friends at the House of Blues for the gospel brunch. It was a nice weekend!
