Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone! We celebrated early here with dinner of pork roast and our traditional black-eyed peas and greens for good luck for the new year. Then we went outside in the drizzly foggy humid night to do sparklers. To wrap things up I had a candlelight toast with sparkling apple cider at the kitchen table. The girls thought that was all really cool. I doubt I will make it til midnight so I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy, blessed New Year!

Christmas2010

It came and went quickly as always. I wish I could have put a slow motion button on it. My most favorite time of the year.. ... It was wonderful and I cherish the time spent with family.
We went to afternoon Mass on Christmas Eve with all of the kids and it was standing room only. We came home and had a houseful of family for a big Christmas dinner. All of the food turned out great and we all enjoyed being together. We exchanged gifts afterwards and had mountains of wrapping paper and many happy little girls running around. Later after everyone left and the little girls were in bed I sat outside with Erin and Lee and enjoyed a glass of wine and a fire in the chiminea to warm up a beautiful chilly night. Erin stayed up late with me and helped with last minute details. I finally got to bed around 2am watching "Meet Me in St. Louis". The girls woke up early the next morning to see what Santa brought them. We opened more presents and had breakfast. All of the kids big and little enjoyed playing with all of the new toys and games. Lee and Erin left a little after noon for his family Christmas in Natchez. Caroline left to visit friends. The girls entertained themselves with all of their new loot the rest of the afternoon and I enjoyed just being home with a nice fire in the fireplace all day. Glen got tickets for everyone to go to the Spirit of Christmas show at the Beau Rivage and we met Casey and the kids and his mom and sisters there. It was a perfect end to a great Christmas.

Happy Holidays 2010

There is just not enough time to enjoy the holidays. I wish that I was off for the whole month of December. Unfortunately I am understaffed and extra-busy at work and have no days off until Christmas Eve. sooo we have been filling up our weekends with holiday fun. We started Thanksgiving weekend. Olivia was in the Thanksgiving play at Church. Casey and the kids came over for Thanksgiving dinner and then we went to New Orleans that weekend to do a little shopping and enjoy the Christmas decorations.. we ended up with a flat tire and had to spend the night.. but it was a memory and the kids all had fun with a big sleepover at the Westin.
The next weekend I went with friends to take our girl scouts to Bellingrath Gardens. It was beautiful and we really enjoyed it.
We went to the Christmas tree lighting at the girls school and watched fireworks afterwards.
The girls have been practicing every Sunday for their parts in the Christmas pageant tonight. We are hoping we make it. Olivia has been under the weather (along with everyone else in town...).
Ave Kate turned seven last week. We celebrated her birthday by going to see Tangled and then going to Pizza Hut and having a A strawberry shortcake ice cream cake. She got Felicity, an American girl doll. I can't believe our Sweet Pea is seven!
Olivia turned eight Saturday! We went to Madison Saturday to have our family Christmas get-together at Michelle and Buck's house. It was so nice to be with all of my family. We had alot of laughs and memories as always. Olivia had all of her cousins around to sing happy birthday.
We will have Christmas Eve dinner here so I am trying to figure out how to get this all together while I work all week. I think I have most of the presents wrapped except the ones that have not arrived yet. I have spent many nights enjoying our Christmas tree and listening to Christmas music while baking and wrapping. The girls have been such a big help and it has been so much fun to enjoy this season with them and make new memories!

Glimpses of Fall

Time seems to be flying since school started. All of the girls are loving it and doing well. The weather has been beautiful here for weeks now. We even had some cooler temps for a few days. It is hot again but bearable. We have stayed busy on the weekends doing fall kind of things-Saint's game, fishing, buing fall plants, goint to the Fall Festival at school, , decorating for Halloween and just enjoying Autumn. Alyssa turned 9 and had a fun birthday at Kangaroo's. We went to Jackson to Chelle Belle's house and had a fun visit as always. We saw Erin and Lee's new house in Jackson and got to spend time with Erin while she took a short break from studying. We also celebrated Glen's birthday and had a nice weekend at the Hard Rock with Casey , Cohen, and Alyssa. Yesterday we went to Cruisin the Coast and saw alot of neat old cars and enjoyed the festivities..
