no news but new pics

We are still waiting, waiting, waiting to hear that the next piece of paperwork called the Article 5 has been done/approved/whatever. Now that we are so close I feel like we are at a standstill. We were lucky enough to get some recent pictures from a family that visited the orphanage last week! Lily is wearing the leopard print dress and looks adorable if I do say so.

2 Aunts and a Neice

This morning we met Casey, Alyssa, and Cohen at Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then caught an early showing of UP. It was a very cute movie and all of the kids enjoyed it. Alyssa came home with us afterwards to stay for the night. The girls have had a great time playing dress-up, playing outside, and modeling for pictures. They are now eating ice cream sundaes and watching a movie. The plan for bedtime is everyone sleep together in Olivia's bed. We'll see where they all really end up.

With temperatures here over 100 degrees, we are inside alot during the day. In the evening it cools down enough to come out and enjoy some summertime fun! The cool water of the sprinkler was a big hit after coming home from swimming in the warm pool. The girls were enjoying it so much that they washed their hair and soaped up before coming in-oh, the carefree days of summer...

Dancing girls

Today was the big dance recital! The girls were in 2 numbers-"You have a Friend in Me" from Aladdin and "Me and My Shadow". The dances were number 16 and 42 on the program. So needless to say we were there for quite a while and the girls very patiently waited offstage with the rest of their class between sets. The whole class did great. The long wait did not dampen their spirits at all. I was so proud of them.

New pics of Lily

I received a new picture of our little Lily and some updated measurements. She weighs 11kg (25 lbs.) and is 88cm (2ft 8 in.)tall. I can't believe how different she looks without all the layered clothes on her. I can't wait to get her home and put some meat on those bones!

vacation days

We arrived in Ft Lauderdale late Friday evening after a 12 hour drive. The girls were good travellers as always. We drove into alot of rain at the end of the trip. Apparantly it has been raining here alot lately. We got out Saturday for about an hour at the pool before it started raining again. Thats been ok with all of us because we have gotten pretty good at getting into vacation mode and relaxing and doing nothing. The girls have kept themselves busy with movies and games.
Today we had a few hours of good weather. There were boat races taking place in front of our condo so we enjoyed watching them from the pool. Olivia has really become a good swimmer this year. As long as she has her goggles on she is good to go.
We had Chinese food delivered for dinner and are about to play some Disney Monopoly-or Hi Ho Cherry-o.
