Mardi gras parade

We started out with a very rainy weekend.  The Friday night parade in Diamondhead was rained out.  We stayed home and watched movies and had a girls night since Glen was out of town for the night.  Saturday morning was still rainy.  We made Valentine cookies to pass the afternoon.  Late in the evening the sun came out and we went out to get some fresh air.   Sunday morning we went to church, came home and changed to get in line for the parade in Bay St. Louis.  I am not a parade fan but I knew the girls would have fun-and it is a small scale parade compared to the ones in New Orleans.  They did have fun. We found Cara and Layla and stood with them. It was a blast.

Beach and Kite flying

It was such a beautiful day today that we had to get out. Since it was a little windy we decided it would be a perfect day to fly a kite. So we headed to the beach with a picnic lunch and our kite. The girls had no trouble at all getting the kite up. The wind made it an effortless event for the kite but made it a little chillier than we anticipated. The sun was not quite as warm as it looked. All in all it was a great day. We will just remember t bring a sweater next time.

CNY Celebration

dragon dancing

beautiful girls and boys

We attended the South MS China adoption family Chinese New Year celebration last night in Petal, MS. It was quite an event. The ladies that got this together did a great job. There was a huge turnout with delicious Chinese food catered by a local restaurant, beautiful decorations, a touching slide presentation, children's crafts, a silent auction, a big dragon dance and all around good fellowship. The event brought in enough money for the group to sponser 2 precious children in foster care through Love Without Boundaries. There were so many beautiful children there. Ave Kate and Olivia had a wonderful time. We will definitely be going to more of these get-togethers.
