Christmas in Utah
This year, I wanted to go to Utah for Christmas. I grew up loving the holiday and spending time with my family. I have missed it since we have lived in Cali. I wanted to go, but Eric didn't. He wanted to stay home and get some things done with his Mustang. So I decided I would drive the kids myself to Utah. I know..BRAVE! And yes I was. I was really worried about Cooper and the weather..well both did great! The weather was super dry in December this year, no snow at all. Barely any in the mountains either. I wasn't complaining. I didn't want to drive in bad weather. We drove the 12 drive in two days. We left on my birthday, I know so much fun! The kids did great. Even Cooper. They watched movies and slept. We stopped in Reno, which was freezing. And then off to Winnamucca, NV where we stayed the night. The hotel had an indoor pool which the kids loved. The rooms were a little noisy. I could hear the people next door talking until 1am. But that is ok because they probably heard Cooper crying until then too. The crib they brought in was horrible. It made noises every time he moved. After awhile he ended up in bed with me, which was a first. I didn't sleep that well, but that is ok.
The next morning, we got ready and had breakfast and headed to Utah. The weather was FREEZING. 5 degrees outside. I couldn't believe how cold it was. Our car was freezing too. The seats were SOO cold. Poor Cooper has never felt that cold weather before, he had a weird look on his face. Our water bottles in the van where rock solid ice. It was COLD, So COLD! And I was wearing Flip Flops...bad idea Cali Girl! The kids did great again on the drive. Cooper never really cried, he just got a little fussy and bored. Every time I would look back he would give me a smile and a "Are you getting me out?" look. It was cute. We made it to Utah and headed to my mom's. She didn't know we were coming early. She thought we were coming after Christmas and meeting her in St. George. I love to surprise her...I do it all the time. She was shopping though. So we unloaded the car and my dad came home and was surprised to see us. Finally when my mom came, we went upstairs and my dad told her that Santa came while she was shopping. She told my dad that he wasn't suppose to buy anymore gifts. Then the kids and I started to sing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and she came up the stairs to see us. She was shocked. She loved it. It worth the drive!
Christmas Eve Breakfast
My parent's ward does a Christmas Eve Breakfast every year. The Bishopric hosts the breakfast. I was excited to be in Utah this year so we could go. It was sooo yummmmy! French Toast with the best sauce ever! Santa even showed up...imagine that!
My dad got my mom a new camera, so while she ran errands, we played with it!
These were a few shots we took.
Christmas Eve with the Family!
The night included: A big Dinner, Talking, Kids playing and screaming, Talent Show done by all the kids, Cousin gift exchange and Adult White Elephant exchange. It was a fun night with all my family. Everyone was there except for Jaron's family and Eric.
Once everyone left..it was bedtime..Santa was on his way!
