Meet Anna-Lisa's kittens!

An unexpected turn of events made it possible to visit and take pictures of Anna-Lisa and her kittens.

This is what Anna-Lisa looks like as cat-mother nursing her two kittens.

And here they are! (Sorry about the soft focus.

I did not want to use a flash, so this is a paw-held shot under a sofa.)

My two-legged brother, Erik, has already decided what to call the boy-kitten: 'Nils'!

This is Moa who lives next door. She is holdning the girl-kitten that my two-legged sister, Elisabet, wants to call 'Anna Mathilda'.

Elisabet and Erik are very happy about the kittens!

I am too!

New hope for The Red Cat Society

This is a photo of a lovely red cat-girl named Anna-Lisa. She's just a kitten here sitting in front of Elisabet, one of the two-legged's kits.

This photo was taken more than a year ago. Just a couple of weeks ago, Anna-Lisa had gave birth to two kittens that look just like her. Red kittens! I haven't seen them yet, but the two-legged kits, Elisabet and Erik, play with them a lot on the farm. If Calle Cat can't come back to us, we are hoping that maybe Anna-Lisa's kittens will join us. This means that I will have to continue to blog here until the kittens are old enough to take over. If they are interested in blogging, that is. Let's hope so!

Summer Reading About Red Cats

Red Cats in detective novels: Lydia Adamson's A Cat in a Glass House

Sara Cat and I thought it might be fun to try to find references or stories about red cats in books. It's summer. It's hot. Maybe you should read a good mystery while you are resting by the pool or gently swinging in a hammock. This passage, about a beautiful red cat named Millie, is to be found on page 11:

Then I saw the cat. An enormous red tabby, napping like a ragdoll on the ledge of one of the stainless-steel shelves, high up.
The only parts of the tabby moving were the tail and one twitching paw. What a wonderful place to snooze, I thought. And what a beautiful kitchen cat!

Sara Cat meets a ginger neighbour while Calle Cat is away

Calle Cat has moved to the farm for the summer or perhaps for a longer time. We don't know when or even if he will return to us here in town. He is well and sends purrs and love to all of his blogging ginger and non-ginger friends. Calle Cat has asked me, his sister, Sara Cat, to help blog while he is away.

So, Calle Cat has asked me to post about a meeting with one of our neighbours, a handsome red cat named Gustav. He lives in a house on the other side of the little alley behind our house, where he has a nice garden.

Gustav had a brother when he first moved in. But his brother disappeared when they were still young cats. Gustav's human when looking for Gustav's brother, but never found him.

So Gustav lost his brother and best friend. He now lives with a big yellow dog.

While Calle Cat is away on the farm, I will look after The Red Cat Society page and post anything I find that is related to red cats.

Kitties Love Suitcases

I don't think it's ever possible to have a suitcase that doesn't have a bunch of cat hair on it. If the kids leave theirs out even for a minute after returning from their dad's house, Irish and Maddux move in and start to play.
