Turn That Frown Upside Down!!

I wrote a few posts ago that I was very sad about not being cast in Into the Woods at Hale Theater. I love working there and the people are great! I want to tell you a story from today. I was at my rehearsal for Bye Bye Birdie when my cell phone rang. I answered it (I'm assistant director so I'm the only one allowed to have their phone on). The voice on the other end said, "Hi Candice this is Seth from Into the Woods at Hale Center Theater. We would like to offer you the part of one of Cinderella's Step Sisters in our production of Into the Woods. AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! Well, my actual reaction was "Are you serious? Are YOU serious? Are YOU SERIOUS?!?!" I think he laughed a bit. So yes I HAVE BEEN CAST IN INTO THE WOODS!! I'm extremely excited! The only downfall is that we are going to have to push our Disneyland trip back, but that's not big deal, Disneyland will always be there. I don't know which cast I'm in yet or which step sister I play. Our first rehearsal is August 11. The performances are October 1 thought November 29. So once I know what cast I'm in, I hope you all will try to come and see it.

I Love Ducky!!

As many of you are aware, I am involved with Taylorsville City's production of Bye Bye Birdie. I am the Music Director and Assistant Director. We have been having a lot of fun and making wonderful new friends. The director is Steph and the choreographer is Steph. Heehee!! Two different Stephanies. One my best friend and one a new friend that I know will be a life long friend. We work great together!! Most of the time we read each others minds. Last night we took publicity photos to advertise our show in the paper. We had asked those that were to be in the photos to come around 6:45pm so we could take the photos and start rehearsal at 7pm. Everyone was on time except Conrad. Bless his heart, his wife made him late (at least that's what she said). I was going to do Conrad's hair for the pictures. We hadn't practice anything with his hair yet so I was planning on doing 3 or so different styles until we found the perfect one. Since he didn't arrive until after 7pm I only had a chance to do one style. It didn't quite work. It looked great, but he also looked like Duckie from Pretty in Pink. He looked EXACTLY like Duckie. People could have mistaken him for John Cryor with how close their faces are. I am going to be taking one of the photos we took of him and turning it into buttons for the teen girls to wear that says "We Love You Conrad!" I might make one that says "We Love You Duckie" so I can wear it.

Yeah for Being Short!!

Creed from the TV show The Office has written a poem about short girls. Since I am short I wanted to share this poem with you all:

Best Boss

So I declare that I have the best boss in the world. I don't think anyone can beat me in that competition. He is not only my boss but he has become one of my best friends. He supports me in everything I do, even outside work. He has attended every show I have been since he's known me. We talk about everything that is going on in our lives to each other. We can rely on each other for advice or help laughing at ourselves for something stupid we have done. He is also a great spiritual example. He has been through a lot in his life and has become a great testimony pillar. At work he is always nominating me for employee of the month and trying to talk the higher ups into giving me more money. He is just a great person and I'm thankful to call him my friend.

Fiesta For The Rest Of Ya!

So today at work we had a Fiesta BBQ. Why? I'm really not sure. Our company likes to have little get togethers everyone once in awhile to show us that they care about us. I don't really think they do, but they put on a good show. One of our companies 2008 goals is to save money and to go "Green". Since we are trying to keep with company goals we had paper plates that were thrown away and a ton of dinky things that we probably shouldn't have spent money on. They also printed out a ton of flyers announcing the fiesta. I received at least 3 that I put in my recycle box but I'm pretty sure most people just threw them away.

They had a plastic blow-up catcus drink holder. I'm including a picture so you'll be able to believe me. They also decorated the tables with toys and mints. They had bead necklaces, marracas, little hats, and the little toy that looks like the karate tool that Mr. Miagi uses in Karate Kid 2.

For our Fiesta we had burgers, hot dogs, beans, cookies, potato salad and soda (not a churro in sight!!). The food was pretty good. I enjoyed my burger and hot dog. The beans and cookies were also good. I did not try the potato salad but I'm very particular about my potato salad. I don't really like it, but every once in a while someone will make one that I don't mind.

My friend Heather and I sat together in the corner. We had some fun playing with the toys that were given to us. Heather found some helpful uses for the small hats. The one she's displaying isn't the funnest idea she had.

They also had a hat contest. Everyone was supposed to wear a hat and they gave away prizes in different categories. I didn't win any. :( A lot of people wore sombreros. I wore Hutch's Mickey Mouse top hat that we got on our Honeymoon. My boss Todd put the mustache on me. I think it goes with the outfit quite well.

Another friend of mine at work named Mallory, wore a scarecrow hat. She was also given a mustache. I don't know what it is about Todd (my boss) and putting mustaches on girls. When you take it off you don't have to worry about waxing for a while . :)

I got sick of wearing the mustache after awhile so I wore it as a unibrow. I looked good! Too bad I didn't get a picture of that.

At the end of the party we were told to take the toys with us. My first reaction was "what the crap am I going to do with these?" Then Todd told me to put the maracas next to his balls on his desk. He has chinese relaxation balls on his desk. So I gathered it all up and will decorate his desk with it all.

Funny Family

I have a really funny family. At least I think they're hilarious! My parents, my sister Liz and my brother James went to Disneyland this month. My parents hadn't been since 1987 or 1988, it had been a long time. They had a ton of fun. One their first day at Disneyland, the Disney Dream Team stopped them and gave them one of the Million Dreams that Disney was giving out. They received 10 free fast passes to use anytime that day. You're probably reading this and thinking "So when's the funny part?" They do a lot of things that are funny so I can't name them all but while at Universal Studio they had a family photo taken that they are going to use for their Christmas card this year. Can you tell which is my family members? Hutch and I will be going to Disneyland this year too. We will be going in September. I'm very excited for this vacation, I REALLY need it. We will also be going to San Diego. I have never been to San Diego so I'm looking for that vacation. Maybe Hutch and I will be able to get a family picture taken as good as my parents.

New Site

While I was visiting the Maag Family blog I came accross one of Steph's favorite cooking sites. I LOVE THIS SITE! I have listed it in my favorite sites. It has some wonderful receipes and the instructions are funny. Thank you Steph for sharing this site!

I won an Emmy!!

Some of you already know this but thought I'd share with those who don't. I won an Emmy. I won it for Best Actress in a Comedy and Drama. The show is entitled "Candice: My Life".

After I won my Emmy, I went and played Elton John's piano. I wowed everyone so much that they begged me to have my picture with his piano. And yes, there are about a million cameras on me (that is funny to those who know me and watch Friends).

(The Emmy actually belongs to KSL but that is Elton John's piano. I wasn't allowed to actually play it).

Sadness Overcomes Me

I was visiting PlayersAnonymous.com, a theater website I check quite often, and someone has started a chat asking if Into the Woods and Big have been cast. Someone posted "I know some step sisters have already been called as well." Since there are only 4 parts (two sisters, double cast) I assume I am not cast. Very Sad. Just adds to the crappyness that this day has become.

Waiting Game

Many of you know that I auditioned for "Big the musical" at Hale Theater. I ended up getting called back for "Into The Woods". I was very excited for it. I made it through 2 call-backs. I'm up for the one of Cinderella's step-sisters. I would love to play either of them. But now, it's the waiting game. The second call back was last Tuesday and they said to give them until the end of this week to get the calls or lack of calls out. I know some people have received calls last Saturday. But I'm still wishing and hoping! Keep your fingers crosses!!

I'm with the Times!!

So after everyone asking me what my blog is and not accepting the answer "Capricorn", I've discovered the internet (it's on computers now!) and my own blog. Now all of you sad and pathetic people can read about my sad and pathetic life. :) Heehee!! I'm very excited to start blogging and get all of the frustrations and excitments in my life down. I would like to preface this blog site that if any of you are offended and upset by anything I say...Get Over It!! I'm probably joking. :)
