Crazy...

It has been a crazy couple of days (and couple of weeks as a matter of fact). Lots of things to do, people to see and just busy busy busy. where should i start....

xmas eve: went to work (not recommended). I was literally just waiting for the okay to go home early. absolutely non-productive given that there were noone there to begin with and those who are there, don't really wanna be. I went to the mall after and started my boxing day shopping early. got some great last minute deal, so that was good. I also attended a church service to end the nite.

xmas day: slept, tv, slept, turkey, Instead of santa, one of best friends came to town. we hung out and had some laughs.

boxing day: went to metro. crazy, but i still do it every year. some scooter man tried to run mall patrons over, including me. freak.

27th-today: We iHOP-ed to the mall and discovered the bridal store from hell. Never met such an elitelist, snobby, nose in the air little woman, who INSISTED we'd be escorted into the store by an usher. not only that, but we were only allowed in certain parts of the store (as oppose to the whole store). oh there is more...we were also told we would only have half-an-hour to browse and try things on. Like what is that??

Anyways did more shopping downtown and all around, had dinner with more friends, and met the Fockers. I love it when i am out and about cuz i am so regular sleeping and eating wise. feels good.

Other unrelated random thoughts:

Accomplishment for the day: fitted myself in a very tiny little parking spot. :D

Learned lot about me these couple of days too. How I handle certain things and not handle certain things; my logic, expectations, and my wants; Learning to explain for understanding purposes and not for pleasing. Trying to understand why I do what I do, behave the way I behave and feel the way I feel. Getting to the root of it all and seeing if i could change what I don’t like or accept what I can’t control. In a nut shell, my brain has been in self-management overdrive mode and its been draining....good, but draining.

mmm...what else. got picked up and think i may have been asked for sex (two unrelated episode). not sure if all the sudden attention is a good thing or not. most interesting though.

and oh yes...think i am going to like the upcoming movie "Hitch" with Will Smith. other upcoming attractions that i would like to watch also include: Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Miss Congeniality 2.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !! yes...even you

Don't you hate it when?

Don't you hate it when you go to brush your teeth, and just as you bring the toothbrush up to your teeth, the toothpaste on it FALLS OFF???

Then you got to redo the whole process again (unscrewing the knob, squeezing, and putting the knob back etc).

I hate it when that happens !

Xmas shopping

I am happy to say that I did 80% of my christmas shopping ALL in one day. That must be some sort of record !

I only have 3 more gifts outstanding before christmas. Yeepeee !!!!

[singing] Its beginning to look alot like christmas, everywhere you go...

In my silly attempt to save money, i decided to buy one tea cup instead of two. So during my ride home i thought to myself, "i've got one tea cup. what the heck am i going to do with ONE cup??" i am so weird. :)

Really?? No way....

My Tree Story 2004

Today, since noone in my family wanted to go get the tree this year, i had to trek out all by myself to the tree lot and pick one up. Very interesting experience i must say.

The tree lot wasn't crowded at all since many were either still sleeping or at the mall when i went. i did a quick stroll around the lot to see where the good ones were hidden. After only two minutes, i picked out my first tree and untied it so i could see what it looked like. It was alright...kinda skinny, unlike the short fat one i had in mind. So I continued my merry way and tried to eye one that i think may have potential (rather hard since they were all tied up). Another five minutes went by before i found another one. I dragged this one to an isolated spot and slowly untied the darn thing. the tree flared out like a big flower and i thought, definitely one on the list !

As i was staring and pondering some middle-aged man approached me. I said to him, "this one looks like it need some pruning." He replied with a "Yeah, for sure." I returned my attention back to my tree. another 30 seconds later, the same man came behind me and said, "so you gonna take it or what?" Not picking up on his rude tone at the time, I replied with a friendly, "well you got to check (you know)" His reply, "what is there to check?.....i want it" A little shocked at this point since there are like tons of trees all around me, I looked at him and go, "hmm...okay...if i decide not to take it i will let you know" He let out a grunt and walked away and I thought to myself, OMG, I think i just met the TREE NAZI. There were like trees everywhere, ample for a good selection. why does he want my tree??

Anyways, after that i decided that that was the tree i wanted. Now, for the hard part - rewrapping it. I have to say that rewraping was the most time consuming part of whole the tree-getting experience. It's pretty damn hard to retie an 8 feet tree all by yourself you know. So after some self twirling, having to tell a five year old boy to stop shaking the fence that my tree was leaning on, a very nice gentleman offered to help me tie the rest of the tree and even carried it to the gate. Now that is the Christmas spirit.

After i got home, i cut off all the stray branches and get this, even sawed off the trunk with my own bare little hands !! ME !! all by myself ! crazy huh? You can almost even say that i "chopped" the tree down all by myself...huh huh?? (alright, maybe not :))

Anyways, the sawed off chunk is now a tree ornament.

ps. sorry for the long blurb.

Have you ever tried Buckley's?

While at the mall today, I noticed that there were some folks handing out shots of Buckley's cough syrup. Since I have a sore throat i thought, what the hey? why not.

WRONG !!!! It really tasted like crap. It was like 100 times worst than Fisherman's Friend except you can't spit this one out. That thing was nuclear!!

Hot?....NOT !!

Few things.......

1. NeoCitran taste absolutely BLAH.
2. why is it so much easier to solve other people's problems and not your own?
3. how do you become happy when the very things that make you happy are beyond your control?
4. why am i experiencing all these epiphanies after the fact?

Just wanted to give a quick shoutout to the EVIL MONKEYS who will be having a kick-ass game with the help of a Mr. Mike Crawford!! Go Monkeys Go!
