I was fine existing on copious amounts of chocolate. But, thanks to Fenris’s less than helpful intervention, Mom’s building a nightclub named “Man-beef Buffet.” My hell is only beginning.

The only chance we have, is if I recreate the Astral Stone. But to do so, I have to brew a potion full of ingredients that are literally out of this world. The angels are sending me on a perilous journey to beg the other realms for help. And they all want a trade. Vampires want my blood, Shifters want my power, and the Fae want my life. Jumping realms was something I thought I’d only see in movies or comics, but it’s real. It’s dangerous. And it comes with a price. For Stellan, I’ll pay anything.

But If this clock hits zero, my time is up…and Second Realm will die.

My Opinion

Marvel Mage is the second book in the Night Realm: Magic Marked series by the dynamic bestie duo Chandelle and Megan. If you haven’t read Midnight Mage you may not want to continue reading this review, as there will be spoilers. Consider yourself warned.

This one starts off literally where Midnight Mage ends, Stellan is taken and Ella is on her way to the fourth realm. She ends up in the fourth realm and Stellan in a completely different realm all together. How did this happen? Well to be honest, Stellan freaking threw Ella into the elevator for the fourth
realm. Second realm comes first and they have to save it, you can only use the ring once so onward Ella goes.

Ella is awesome, she has no problem throat punching today in the face if that is what it takes. She finds several unlikely allies in the fourth realm. Although she does get tricked a time or two. While she is there, she mentions Nickle a few times, making me wonder if the next trilogy will involve Nickle and the fourth realm. I really really hope so. I love how she asks the right questions! She doesn't take things at face value and she does questions without shame.

Stellan once abducted is put in a cage, where he has to watch what is going on with his soulmate. However like most shows, this one is edited... a lot. Let's just say that mistakes were made and then aired on the television. Which causes Stellan to pull away from Ella, understandably.

I have so many questions that need answers, and I am banking on those answers not coming any time soon. Most of my questions have to do with the realms that they visited, and the characters that were introduced. Between the vampire, shifter and fae realms, they got several out of the way. Ingredients were found, alliances may have been made as well as some enemies. Fae are especially tricky folks.

For the love of all that is holy!!! Marvel Mage was a roller coaster ride of all the feelings! Ellie completely brought her A game, Savina was a kick ass princess, and Stellan made me love him all over again. Those of you who are about to start this one: get your snacks, ready, clear your schedule because you about to go on one wild wild ride.

I finally get a boyfriend, and now we’re shopping for wedding rings?!

Okay, so, apparently Ash has completely lost his mind, because instead of telling his parents I’m his girlfriend, which is the truth, he told them I’m his wife. Even though I’m not. We’re just, like, magical life partners who are in love and bonded to each other forever. That’s all. It’s not like… It’s not like we got married or anything crazy like that. Ha ha ha. Except, um, maybe it’s totally like that, and, oh, my God, did we seriously just get married?!

Ahem. Anyway, it turns out going to Ash’s world is a thing—who knew?—and that means meeting his family, who are, uh, less than thrilled about the whole idea of us being together, no matter what kind of label we put on it. But his parents think I’m just some trashy fling, his brother thinks I’m not cut out for high society, and his super intimidating ex thinks Ash has lost his mind. Actually, they all do. And being the wife of

a noble demon means going to fancy parties and acting like a normal person, which has never been my strong point.

Fitting into Ash’s world is a lot harder than I thought it would be, and besides the constant barrage of social engagements, there are the expensive dresses I’m sure I’m going to ruin, the birthday party I definitely ruined, and, oh, yeah, Ash’s entire life, which I’m not making any easier. And when I make one social faux pas too many and screw it all up for him, it’s going to take everything I’ve got to try and fix it before his family benches him for good and he loses his place in society. And, like, basically everything that makes him happy.

Well, everything except me, that is. No pressure.

Why am I waiting?

Demon In My Dorm Room was a cute adorable read. I loved Ash and thought he was pretty awesome and so now I want to know how Isabel will fit into his world.

My Opinion 

A wolf shifter without the ability to shift, one with a human soul. An outcast among her pack, one who's own family attacks her. Her half brother along with other alphas in training decide to teach her a lesson. They did not realize how powerful she was, she didn't realize how powerful she was. The most feared alpha steps in to save her, and takes her to the Hidden House, a safe haven for those needing a sanctuary. There she learns and grows, until Tristan needs her again. There is a war coming and she may very well be the secret weapon that he needs. 

Tessa has had a hard life, yet she is not a woo is me kinda girl. She more of an "I get knocked down, but I get up again kinda gal." Tessa has compassion, strength and common sense that some heroines just lack. Her confidence in her abilities is due to her abilities which is just refreshing. She knows she has limits and she tries to overcome them. She understands the inner workings of the pack, and she sees the situations that they are in for what they are. Then enters Tristian who completely changes everything she thought she knew. What she learns and gains at the safe house will forever change her. Heck I may have a girl crush on this one. 

Tristian is a young and feared alpha leader, who steps in to save Tessa from some alpha’s in training. He is an enigma for sure. There wasn’t a minute in the book that I didn’t love him. He just kept getting better and better until well there were no more pages. He allows Tessa to be the alpha female that she is, without feeling threated. It was a breath of fresh air, in a genre where alpha males try to “protect” the females. He is fighting against the odds and his enemies are plentiful. 

The chemistry between Tristian and Tessa is off the charts hot! I mean holy cow- grab a fan and glass of sweet iced tea because honey things are heated from the beginning. The best part though is that the intense chemistry does not take away from the storyline at all. It is there, they acknowledge it and continue to live their best alpha lives. 

The secondary characters bring an added depth to the storyline, both those on Tristian’s side (Jace) and those on Tessa’s (Danika and Iyana). Their bonds with their respective alphas are unbreakable. I for one cannot wait for their reaction to that ending. 

Holy cliffhangers! Color me shocked, surprised and honestly shook. This was one heck of an adventure and how it ends. I just can’t, y’all have to read this one. I went into it with no expectations except that it was a darker urban fantasy than I was used to, by the ending I was just stunned. Beautifully written, a journey about belonging in a world full of rejection.
