Parker was asked to participate in the Math Masters program at school, Friday was their competition. It was great to see Parker participating, but it got a little long watching 200 5th graders do math. I think about 28 schools were at the competition, and they were all business. Need less to say, Parkers school did not place, but they did get a free t-shirt. :)

spirit of a marathon
Well here we go again. I just signed up for the Twin Cities Marathon!!! I am so excited! Registration started on Friday at 12:01 a.m. I tried to stay up but fell asleep. However, I did wake up at 4:00 in the morning to register. I know it sound crazy but I was so excited, I had butterflies in my stomach all night. Another reason I am so excited is because my brother Jim is flying in from Texas to run it with me!! I just thew it out there to him just for fun, I wasn't sure what he would do but Saturday morning he called and said he registered!! I couldn't believe it! That morning we talked about all the running he has been doing and the more I talked to him the more it sounds like he could run a marathon next week (he ran 11 miles for fun Saturday morning). Anyway, I am just excited. I love to train, I love the early morning runs, the fresh air and the peace of mind. This year I am going to try and qualify for the Boston Marathon, which means I will have to finish in 3:40 min. My best time is 4:12 min so I have a lot of work to do!
