President Hinckley 1910-2008

President Hinckley truly endured to the end. Just think of the wonderful reception he has had with his wife, friends, family, and prophets that have gone before him. I am so thankful for his wonderful service, for his life, and his amazing example. We love you and you will be greatly missed.

Were did you meet your husband?
Playing on a coed softball team. He was the pitcher, I was the catcher.

What was the first thing he said to you?
I think the first thing he said to me was his name. I had never heard the name Rory before. I wanted to make sure I was saying it right so I could cheer for him when he was up to bat . We had so much fun together.

When was your first date?
Our fist date was about a month after we met. A couple of the guys on the team wanted me to go out with them and their wives one night. I was dating someone at the time and I thought it would be more fun if Rory came instead of the other guy because Rory knew everyone on the team. Anyway, I called Rory up and asked him if he wanted to go with all of us, he said yes and he would come and get me and we would all meet and go out to dinner. Well, Rory couldn't find my apartment, so he was about an hour late picking me up, we just decided to go out to dinner by ourselves. We went to Joe's Crab Shack in Orem. Again, we had such a good time together, everything just felt so natural with him.

When was your first kiss?
Our first kiss was about a month and a half after we met. Like I said before, I was dating someone else so I would only go to lunch with Rory, which left little time to be romantic. So after one of our lunch dates Rory asked if I would ever let him take me out to dinner again. I said yes and we went out to dinner. After that dinner we were sitting outside in his truck talking, he kept moving closer leaning in and I just kept hugging the door. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to kiss him but I was seeing someone else, I already felt bad about that, I wasn't going to feel worse by kissing him too. Well, after about an hour of talking in his truck he walked me to my door, and I think asked if he could use my bathroom. I can't remember why he came into my apartment, anyway, we hugged and then kissed, I don't even think we knew what was happening. It just happened!! And it was so good, I think I was on cloud 9 for days. Needless to say, the very next day I told the other guy that we couldn't see each other anymore :).
Long/short courtship/ engagement?
We had a pretty long courtship. Rory was just taking a few semesters off from school to work, so he was planning on going back up to Logan. I honestly didn't think we would make it much after that. Rory went back to Logan and promised that he would come down every weekend, I thought..."yah right!" but he did, he made that two hour trip every weekend for 2 1/2 years!
We were engaged Feb 11, 2006 @ 11pm. He took me to the softball field where we first met and had flowers on the pitchers mound. We walked over to the pitchers mound and as soon as we got there a heart lit up around the mound and he asked me to marry him. He is so great!!!
When did you get married?
We were married June 21,2006 in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple.

Where did you Honeymoon?
We honeymooned at Daniels Summit for two days, then off to Puerto Rico for a week. We had so much fun! The only down side was Rory got super sunburned the second day we were there, I mean really bad. He was in a lot of pain. I felt so bad for him.

Hooray For Parker!

Parker got second place in his school spelling bee! We are so proud of him. GREAT JOB PARKER!

Primary Sharing Time

It was my primary classes turn to do sharing time on Sunday. I made cookies, came up with a game, and lesson. Well, Sunday morning came around and Max was sick, so I stayed home with him and I guess I'll do my lesson next week. Anyway, I found the best website for primary ideas, well for any church calling. It is sugardoodle.net I love the ideas they have. If you have any church calling you should check it out!

Max's favorite toy

Nana and Papa gave this to Max for Christmas, it took him a few days to figure it out, but now he loves it.

Christmas Outfits 2007

One of my favorite gifts this year was finding matching outfits for Parker and Max. I was so excited about it. I always thought it was so nerdy to dress your kids alike for anything, but when I found these outfits my heart just melted. I mean really, how adorable are they...I'm pretty sure it doesn't get much better than theses two :)!
