hey all! Sorry this is late but I got back from the New Mexico bowl with the Fresno State Marching band! I had a blast but the game was not meant to go our way. Our dogs lost but it was still a fun trip for the 30 of us that went. This is me and pretty much 2 of the most amazing people in the whole band, Ryan Dirlam and David Green (from left to right). This was taken ight before the game while we are waiting outside the UNM stadium for the game.

Hmong New Year

Our ward dressed up for Hmong New Year!!!!

We were able to join the members of our ward today and dress up in Hmong clothes. We were lucky to have a few members let us borrow clothes. It is so much fun to wear them. They are so beautiful. It is one of my favorite sacrament meetings. The Hmong clothes have coins on them that jingle whenever you move. So you hear the soothing sounds of tinkling all day long.

Family DDR

Our family really enjoys DDR. Especially at Christmas time we get out the mats and just hang out and play the game. The day after Christmas we had Chuck's dad, his brother and daughter over to eat and play. It is a fun way to mingle and laugh at the same time.

The Seagle Christmas season

Our Christmas season started with a family party with the Nefs, Jensens and Dills. It is our annual get together. We had a great dinner, fun games and a fun white elephant gift exchange. Adel Nef is an amazing host and does such a wonderful job. We had enchiladas, beans and salad. And to top it all off we had brownies and ice cream. The games were fun...we played a Christmas memory game, threw Christmas cards in a basket and the final game was creating a Santa Claus. We were given red tissue paper, cotton balls and a roll of tape. The picture was our creations.

We had our ward Christmas party on the Saturday before Christmas. It was amazing as usual. The food was great and the entertainment was excellent. The youth performed a couple of dances, the YSA did a Hmong dance and cute skit. The primary did a couple of songs and the high priest could not be left out and had their own skit. It was just a fun afternoon to spend time with our ward.

We had a blessing this year and that was to go Christmas caroling on Christmas eve with our friends. We all meet at the Smiths house and sang to their neighbors. There was the Smiths, Carlsons, Roubiceks, Stouts and Nelsons that contributed to the group. There was such a sweet spirit there and it really made me feel the spirit of Christmas. After walking and singing we had an appetite to eat. So we finished the evening with a Mexican food buffet and just enjoyed great company.

My parents and brother were able to come to our house for Christmas. It was a simple and calm day. We got up and just enjoyed each others company. The day was spent opening presents, watching movies and eating turkey. It was fun having my family here and was glad to spend a quiet day with them.

YSA Christmas party?????

Scott went to the YSA Christmas party at the Lawreneces and look what he came back looking like. He got a new set of grillz and some high dollar blingage. The hat and walk was all a new image. It was his white elephant present that he got. He had a great time.

Leave therapy

My backyard was full of leaves. Our next door neighbor has a tree that hangs over our fence. The leaves were falling in our backyard and pool. So I decided that racking leaves and skimming them out of our pool would make me feel better.

So that is what Brendan and I did. We were able to get the leaves out of the pool and off the ground and into the trash can.

End product...it was great to look around and see that I actually accomplished something productive. It was an amazing feeling.

Hmong Youth before Musical

Several of our ward youth came over before the musical to hang out and eat. It is so much fun having them over. They have such a fun and loving spirit that they add to our home. It is such a big blessing to be a part of their lives.

Here is Shirley trying to hide behind the Twilight book. It almost worked. It would have been nice to have seen her beautiful smile.

Susan and her big smile.

The cup of nooodle sisters....

How cute these are sisters and they are exactly two years apart. Born on the same day....

Two friends just enjoying each others company.

More Thanksgiving

Here are more Thanksgiving pictures. This is Scott, Chuck and my dad playing a game of Dominoes. They had to play twice..one with my dad keeping score and he won...then one with Scott keeping score and he won. They should have played a third time with Chuck keeping score to see if he won. It is all in the score keeping.

Here is my mom, my brother and me just sitting and relaxing. It was fun just getting together and spending time with my family. It is low key and very informal but that is the way that I like it. My mom and dad cook and then we clean up.

Thanksgiving

We went to Bakersfield for Thanksgiving. No I did not eat the pumpkin pie first. It was just the way that I downloaded the pictures. The is how one eats pumpkin pie...a little bit of pie with alot of whipped cream. It is the best.

My uncle deep fryed the turkey in peanut oil. It was amazing that it only took a little over 1 hour to cook. It was really good and I enjoyed the turkey the best.

Here is my brother and husband. We are getting ready to eat.

Here is my dad and his sister. They are enjoying the Thanksgiving feast..

This is the family just chilling and enjoying a lazy day of eating and doing nothing.

Family Blog

Well I have opened this to my children...So hopefully there will be some interesting posts form them. They are old enough to help with this. So I have shown them how to do this and I am looking forward to having them become involved with it.

I am grateful for my children. They each have their own individual and distinct personalities. They are gifts from God and teach me something everyday. It usually is patience by they are teaching to be patient. They each have their own unique interests that make them very different.

Scott is really into band and sports. He loves Fresno State sports and band.

Brendan is more social and enjoys hanging out with his friends and doing different things.

Felicia is into waterpolo and is in band. She is a typical 13 year old girl and we are praying she makes it through the teenage years.

Fresno State Band

Scott and the Fresno State Marching Band.......

This is the baritone section at a performance at an outdoor concert at Fresno State. These are the bartione players of the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band...And they are very proud of it.

This is Scott up close and personal as he plays the baritone. The band went into the crowd to play and dance around. They were playing...Jump on it and it was fun to see them get into this song.

Here is Scott again playing with the Band outside on the Fresno State Campus. Scott has such a love for Fresno State and the Marching Band. It has been such an amazing experience for him

Fun night out

I have been very blessed to become involved in a few activities that have really helped me so much. My good friend Kris Smith has been a key figure in increasing my social/spiriutal life. She is one amazing person. She invited me to join a Time Out for Women Book Club. I have only gone a few times but it has been an amazing experience. I love to read and this has helped me find new books to read and new friends to talk about them with. It is my idea of paradise. I know I am wierd but what can you say. It was a Halloween dress up night but I did not get the memo...So went as ME!!!!!!

Out of my comfort zone

Yes I did it...It was mismatched day at my school. They were doing it for red ribbon week. I decided to go as mismatched as possible. I even had my earrings not match.
It was fun but a few people said that I hurt their eyes with my clothes....

Felicia has talent!!!!!

Felicia was very proud of herself....She could hang a sppon of her nose....

Love that face......How cute can one be....

Funny Picture

Saw this funny sign at the SPCA and had an idea that I could not help.....A great picture came to my mind.

I could not resist....Brendan is such a good sport and stood by it to humor his wierd mother.

Pioneer Park Youth Service Project

The Pioneer Park Ward Youth went and helped cleaned up the outside area of the SPCA on a Saturday morning. It was a great experience for those who could make it. We were able to get several jobs done that they needed us to do. We also got it done it less time than thought. Everyone came and worked hard.

The morning brought donuts and muffins to give us energy to make it through the morning.

Here we are with tools in hand to get started on our work.

This is one of the fields that we cleaned up. There was a lot of weeds and debris that needs to picked up and taken away.

Here are the the cute beehinves chopping away....They are having too much fun.

Yer is so funny....Blia kept hiding her face...The two of the them are sooooo cute....

JJ Farley with a chain saw....what were we thinking. Good think her dad is the Bishop and he was there....

Great Young Women's Activity

We had a great joint activity for the young women in the Pioneer Park Ward. It was a mother daughter hair night. We had a get to know you activity in the beginning. Then it was time for Krista Gage to show some cute hair dos. It was so much fun seeing the mothers and daughters together. I know it continues to be a huge blessing to be in the Pioneer Park Ward... there are some of the most amazing people and sweetest spirits in the world. I have so blessed to be there and be a part of so much love.

This is Felicia's end result of Gwen working on her hair. JJ Farley is the in background.

Felicia is getting her done by Sister Hawkins. Felicia has such a happy look on her face. She has never really liked her hair messed with. Sister Hawkins in one of the few people she will allow to let her do it. She is Felicia's beehive leader and she just loves her so much. She is an amazing leader and good friend.

Here is the most beautiful group of women in my life. They are the mothers and daughters of the Pioneer Park Ward. The smiley girl in the front is Zoua Her and her mother. I am always amazed at these women and their strength.

Here are the Vang women....We had a little question and answer period. There are three girls in Young Women..a laurel, mia maid and bee hive. They are so much fun to be around.
