We Moved...Again!

After a ton of interviews and almost buying some practices that just weren't right for us, Chase accepted a job in Arizona. I am so glad we were able to spend all summer with our families. It was so fun to see Mason and his relationship with his grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins. I also stored up time so I can stand being away for a few months! I can't say I was thrilled to move to Arizona during the hottest time of the year while 7 1/2 months pregnant but I was so grateful to have a job and for Chase to start working.

So we loaded up the truck with our few belongings and my parents were so nice to drive our car with us!

I debated about driving or flying and decided I needed to see how Mason would do to see if we would be doing it again anytime soon. Mason was awesome! He did great the whole time, happy to watch the road, movies and eat snacks. He got to share the backseat with Boxer who slept the whole time. We stayed over in Las Vegas and in Phoenix since our house and trailer wasn't ready until Monday morning. We had fun swimming at our hotel in Phoenix in the heat!

We arrived! Chase did all the house hunting while he was here for interviews and he did a great job picking the house! It's in a great neighborhood and a great location near a lot of shopping! I love that we have grass in the front and backyard and I LOVE the space and storage in the kitchen! I love that the floors don't squeak and there are no stairs to worry about Mason! And we love the carpet instead of laminate floors everywhere in our old house. We have lots of room to play!

The trailer with all of our stuff we hadn't seen in quite a while! The plan was for Chase and my dad to unload things slowly and start putting things together, but they were animals and just couldn't stop and they unloaded the whole thing! We were contacted by the Elder's Quorum and they had people coming to help at 5:00 so we had to call them off. (The owners of the house are members.) It was so nice to have my parents here to help unpack. Even when they thought they weren't doing much, it helped so much to entertain Mason so I could put things away. We've been here for 2 weeks and I wish I could say it's all done but the fun of organizing in a new house has worn off and I'm waiting for more motivation but it's starting to feel like home anyway!

Summer in Utah

We have had such a fun summer spending time with our families! I absolutely love Utah summers. We spent a lot of nights sitting outside after Mason was in bed enjoying the weather and no humidity.

It seems like Mason grew up and learned so much while we were here. He learned how to say 'no' but he makes such a cute face when he says it, I can't get mad. He is putting sentences together and he says "I don't know" and "I want more." Just when I think I couldn't love him more or kiss him more, he just gets cuter and more fun!

Here is some of the fun we have had!

Mason loves the water. He would play in the sink or the bathtub all the time if we would let him. My mom babysits my cousin's little girl Halle so Mason always had a playmate. They made Tara get in with them. She's a good sport!

Mason had his first golf lesson and loved it!

He was a little dangerous with the real club so we found this safer set for him.

He loved this car! At first he was thrilled just getting in and out and then he realized he could make it go backwards and finally figured out how to go forward. He found a great place to store his rocks too!

He found out how fun it is to play in the dirt.

And of course he got a few owies. He fell on the hard wood floor and cut his chin. I was surprised how long he kept the bandaid on. He's likes his owies kissed now and he'll kiss them himself.

They had fun on the scooter. Mason isn't too cool for pink! Halle makes me laugh because she always has to hold things no matter what she's doing!

Mason was helping Tara set the table. We got a good laugh out of this! He now loves trains and playing cars. He grabs us by the finger and tells us to sit down by him then he assigns us a car to drive around with him. I think it's adorable!

Mason had to find my flip-flops because Halle had some on. Monkey see, monkey do!

And Mason is still loving his bellybutton! We see him like this a lot throughout the day. I have to reassure him that it's still there when I change his diaper and we say goodbye to it when we zip up his jammies!

18 Months And....

We took Mason to his pediatrician one last time in Ohio for his 18 month check up. He weighed almost 28 lbs and they couldn't get an accurate length. Ever since he had an ear infection and they had to flush out his ears, he hates that place and anyone that comes near him. Laying on the table is the worst since that's where the incident occurred.

Other than that he is doing well. I am constantly amazed at how much he understands and how much he copies what he hears. He is learning new words almost daily but my favorites right now are THANK YOU, THUNDER and PURPLE! He is still such a sweetheart and loves to gives kisses and hugs. I was worried about making the transition to one nap but he did that on his own. He still doesn't take the best naps, usually just over an hour, but when he sleeps 12 hours at night, I can't complain! His favorite foods are yogurt, macaroni and cheese and any kind of candy. He's such a fun little boy!

He LOVES being outside!

Before we left Ohio, I saw my OB one last time and we found out we are having a...

GIRL!

We are very excited to see what a girl is like and shop for pink clothes! Chase has been saying all along that it's a girl so I guess I had that in my head but I didn't have any other feelings. With all the other decisions to make with having a baby I'm just so glad I don't have to decide on the gender! I would go back and forth about what I thought would be best but I know that is it! Now if she would just come with a name!!

I guess she likes her hand by her face! Everything looked good on the ultrasound but my doctor heard an abnormal rhythm in the heartbeat. She assured me that it's common and everything would more than likely be just fine but it was still a little scary. Everything is resolved for now, thank goodness! We can't wait to see her!

Then we left Ohio for good. Mason and I flew back with my mom while my dad and Chase made the long drive. They drove the truck with the barbeque and lawn mower and towed the car. I didn't get a picture of the 'little engine that could.' They were crazy and drove straight through taking turns driving and only making a few short stops for food and gas!! So glad they made it safely and so glad I didn't have to drive, thanks mom and dad!

Dr. Chase Davis, DDS!!!

The big day finally came and we can call Chase "doctor" and "dentist!" We got to celebrate Chase and all his studying, hard work and sacrifice over the last 4 years! It was a fun and special day and we couldn't be more proud of Chase and his accomplishments!

There was a guy playing the organ before things got started and the only song I remember is "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth." A little cheesy but it made us laugh!

Playing around waiting. It was nap time but Mason did pretty good. It was nice having lots of help to entertain him!

Here comes the Grad!!

Hard to see but Chase is waiting to be hooded by one of his professors.

Shaking hands with the Dean.

The proud wife!

Chase and one of his good buddies, Shayne.

Us with Chase's parents!

My whole family! It was fun to be on vacation with everyone for the first time!

Blake, Allison, mom, dad, Tara, and Chad. Chad's sister also came along for the trip.

Allison and I were dressed like twinners! Too bad she looked better in it!

Love this picture!

Chase and the LDS guys from his class. We were lucky to have such a good group of friends to celebrate holidays and special occasions with. Congratulations!!

Family in Ohio

While our families were in Ohio, we had A LOT of fun! I was terrible at taking pictures like usual though.

We bounced around from hotel to hotel since we sold our house and Mason always had fun exploring. Love the bed-head, buddy!

We went to the Columbus Zoo and everyone was very impressed! We spent about 5 hours there seeing it all!

Mason had fun petting the goats. (Yes I had on one black sock. My shoe gave me a blister and my dad was so nice and gave me his sock!)

Riding the train!

Another day we took a drive to Berlin to see Amish country. I wasn't very impressed but maybe we just didn't know what to see. We went to the cheese factory and sampled some cheese and ate at a Swiss restaurant. Chase and I were with his parents and we planned to meet up with my parents and brother but we had no cell service there! We did bump into them though.

My parents and Allison and Blake.
I stole these pictures from my sister-in-law. They saw the longest covered bridge in Ohio!

We also made it to Cedar Point. This was our third time and my second time there being pregnant :( I wanted to ride so bad! My parents and Chase's dad are hard-core and rode every ride, even Dragster! My dad was a little scared and thought about getting off before it started but he didn't!

Moving Day

We moved out of our house May 22nd. We had a lot of good helpers (Chase's friends, missionaries and a friend from our ward) that made things much easier. I wasn't exactly much help being pregnant and chasing a toddler around. We packed everything up in the truck but we stayed one last night in our house with the bare minimums. We slept on a borrowed air mattress and Mason slept in his pack-and-play. He wasn't very happy about sleeping in a different location but it was an adventure.

Seeing the house empty was a little emotional, especially when Chase told Mason to say goodbye to his first house. We had a lot of great memories there! I will miss a lot of things about Columbus like the bunnies, squirrels and fireflies in our backyard and of course our friends.

After we were homeless, Mason and I flew to Utah and Chase stayed with an extremely kind family in our ward. I didn't think they would appreciate a loud little boy who throws his food on the floor!

Mason was a big help packing!

Some of the boxes we had packed in one room.

Mason had so much fun playing in the truck.

And especially going up and down the ramp. I think we did this like a hundred times!

This is the truck that holds all our stuff somewhere in Ohio still. Can't wait to see it again!

So, What's New?...

We sold our house!!
We are so grateful to have this addition to the bottom of our sign!

We had our house on the market for 3 weeks and we officially had 4 people come for a showing. But it was the 3rd that was a charm! It was a Friday night and we had a showing scheduled so we ran an errand and got some dinner. We came back home and there were no cars around so we figured we were safe. After about 5 minutes, our realtor called and told us to hurry and get out, they wanted to come back. Since we didn't think they would be long and we didn't have anywhere to go, we parked down the street to watch. When they came out and took pictures of the house, we agreed with our realtor, a second visit was a good sign. We got an offer the next day! We close next Friday and it's a little bit of a bummer that we won't have a house when our families come for graduation and we have to find somewhere else to live but we are not complaining!

I should be packing but instead Mason entertains me...

It's funny to me that he just discovered one day that things will go on his head.

And we made Mason his first hut. My siblings and I used to make these all the time. Mason would go in there and just laugh a big fake sounding 'haha'.

And Mason is practicing being nice to the dog since he's going to be a big brother in October!
