A Few of Mason's Favorite Things

Mason still loves playing with his cars and trains and for some reason this is a favorite spot to play with them.

Whenever I'm loading or unloading I can see the wheels turning in his head and then he runs off and comes back with cars. He's so excited I can't tell him not to play there.

He loves to pretend to talk on the phone. He can have some long conversations in his own language. But my favorite part is when he says something and then fake laughs and laughs. He must tell some funny stories!

This boy loves to go outside. I have to be careful when I take out the garbage because a quick trip to garbage can turn into a big tantrum when it's time to go inside. Mason loves being like daddy and has to mow the lawn with him. Chase can't try and sneak out because Mason can hear that thing the second he starts!

He loves the playground in our backyard. He climbs the ladder but he's still a little nervous going down the slide by himself.

But then you're sweaty and your cheeks are bright red so you have to cool off with one of these:
He loves popsicles and he takes me by the finger to the freezer at least once a day. You can't look at the camera when Sesame Street is on!

Mason loves watching videos on YouTube and he can watch them on the ipad all by himself. He watches anything with trains or Mickey Mouse and he loves songs like Twinkle Twinkle, Wheels on the Bus and Itsy Bitsy Spider. But his favorite is probably Teasing Mr. Crocodile. For a long time he has been saying "snap!" along with the lady in the video when the crocodile gets the monkey. It was one of his first words. The lady also has monkey and crocodile puppets and at my mom's, Mason would wear some random puppets. A couple days ago he was watching this video and kept pointing at his fingers and I knew that meant he wanted some puppets. So this is what I came up with using my scraps of felt.

He was so exited when they were just brown puppets with nothing on them! It's so funny to see him get so excited over such simple things. I'm not sure how long these will last because the crocodile is wet from having his eyes chewed off already.

He loves them! He gets so proud of himself when he gets them all on his fingers!

Our First Visitor

The day after my parents left (boo!) Chase also started his first day of work. After about 2 1/2 months, it was weird being home alone with just Mason! Things were going well until we came into the kitchen and saw this...

Well not this one exactly. I wasn't thinking about taking its picture at the time. It was trying to run on the tile and not getting anywhere very fast. That's when it started to freak Mason out. When it was still, he just watched it. I'm not a fan of reptiles so I wasn't sure what to do but somehow I didn't freak out! While I got a broom, Boxer kept sniffing it. I opened the back door and pushed it out. It really grossed me out! For days after Mason would go to the back door and hit the glass and yell "no" meaning no lizards. And whenever he saw the broom or heard the word he would do the same thing! I have to admit, for a few days I kept looking around the house expecting to see another one.

We saw one outside through the window when we were moving in and I was fine with them out there. We think one let itself in while the garage was open and the door was propped open while we were moving things in. But if that's the case, it means it was in our house for 2 days! Disgusting!

There are worse things here like scorpions. Thankfully we don't have those! There are tons of bugs and spiders here so it's a must to have someone spray monthly. I guess it's working because all the bugs I see in the house are dead. Still gross though! Chase says it's because everyone likes living in Arizona, even the bugs!
