The slow burn begins. The heart is torn and yearns, and feelings linger.

See, I've been too busy with work and going out and council business to actually tend to my little baby right here.

As such, a lot of things I had to mind to blog about have once again left my mind.

Well, what can I say? Council meetings have come, fast and furious, and we just pulled through with the first event of the year, our Movie Marathon Challenge 2011. Fine execution, although professionalism needs to be upped, but horrible turnout. That said, I'm still glad that those who turned up did, and stayed with us throughout. Our collective effort wasn't wasted!

On a side note, I've discovered an awesome new getup to cosplay in. Something like Sylvester Stallone's character in The Expendables, running around with a beret. YEAH!

Then... I moved on to Remedial Training for my IPPT. It's a bitch, and I hurt bad. First briefing session was kind of lame but necessary for the older reservists, I guess. But the second session when we actually exercise, ooh, there came the burn. Goes to show how unfit I am.

- 30-minute endurance run: I clocked 10.5 rounds of running non-stop and walked half a round, so I roughly covered 4.4km.
- Calisthenics:
   -> Buddha claps, seated and standing
   -> Alternate leg thrusts
   -> Crunches
   -> Plank (we did only one)
   -> Jumping Jacks
   -> Push-ups/Diamond Push-ups
   -> Flutter Kicks
   -> Tug Jumps
...and some others. We did 3 sets of those. Including warm up and cool down plus time for in and out-processing, the whole thing lasted 2.5 hours.

And there we go.

2011 #2... and 6 years!

A couple of things made me rather happy and maybe a little wee bit emo over the past week. Firstly, starting off with the good things:

Met up with some of my Air Rifle teammates for a quick dinner. Well, some of them are doing quite well now. Rhesa's doing his Final Year Project at NTU, Daniel's on a MOE scholarship to University College London, and Maryann... surprising "little" (no offense) Maryann, she who was ditzily cute back then is now a trainee lawyer with... LEE & LEE. Wow. Her presumably awesome grades and good skillset probably got her there. She looked very different dressed in black and white office wear that night; furthermore she only had time for dinner and rushed back to office to complete some work that night. I'm amazed.

Well, at least I'm in university too, and I don't feel so out of place anymore. Trying to shed more and more of the 'A' Level chip off my shoulder. But like I have insinuated elsewhere on this blog, the memory will always remain somewhere, somehow. So while we were queuing up for Gong Cha that night, Shawn suddenly came up to me and told me I had grown in character. I thought it was just a off-handed remark, but later that night he mentioned it on MSN again. I am posting this for posterity.

S: i felt you have grown

S: not hair
S: but character
S: kudos
S: :)
J: awww
J: whats the difference
J: really cos i cant tell
J: haha
S: nvm
S: just know that i feel good around u!

I deeply apologise to any of my readers if I sounded narcissistic, but that was one of the most awesome things I had heard all week. It really made my day... the Chinese saying goes "The bystander sees with clarity." I sincerely hope that I had indeed changed (although I personally feel the same) to be a better person.

Uh, thinking a little more, that would kinda mean I was a dumbass back in my earlier days though. Hehe. :P Mana says its because I took the step forward the first day I stepped into PSB Academy. Perhaps it truly is. Let's hope that 2011 would be a bountiful year for me (and everyone as best as can be, ya?)
Is good to interact more with her, but ultimately I'm just a 癞蛤蟆想吃天鹅肉。And it's nott RGyBHulk who I find interesting.

That said, we just had our first Student Council meeting for 2011 on 10th January. Work work!

And this blog is 6 years old! 9813 hits... (30-40% from my own pageloads) And more to come.

Whoopee!

It's 2011!

Officially the first post of the new year. Had my faulty earphones replaced (the last one lasted 12 days, what the fuck?). And the new HP printer Dad brought back had a minor software issue though it could print and scan as advertised. Nevermind, I will perform the related checks manually.

A little girl melted my heart though, because on my way home from Parkway Parade, I slowed down the car at the zebra crossing to let pedestrians pass. A little girl raised her hands, and actually said "Thank you!" as her family and her petite self passed me. My windows were rolled down, so I heard it perfectly well.

That made my day.

And... I don't feel like going back to school. DANGIT!

And... already a couple of things lined up for 2011: Remedial Training - I better pass my goddamned IPPT now! Plus F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2011. I just signed up as a volunteer about 10 minutes ago. Let's hope I get shortlisted - will be religiously checking my email for that - which means I need to commit during September, and hopefully school won't be that much of a bitch yet by then. :)

Oh yes. I forgot to mention in that last post about New Year's resolutions. I don't normally make them because I generally suck and won't carry it out. But here's to hoping I find a good someone that I can spend my time with. xD. I love my friends, but this is different. :)

2011 go!
