Making up for lost time.

Peyton really likes to practice going potty. He tells me he has to go potty so we get him on the “cool baseball potty seat” and he will pretend like he is using the bathroom. Then he wipes his bum, flushes the toilet, and washes his hands. So he KNOWS all about what he should do, and he really likes big boy underwear but he says he just isn’t ready to be potty trained yet………..so we are still waiting for the day when that happens. But he is pretty funny about it right now. We'll spare you the potty pictures.

The Lightning McQueen pillow on Peyton’s back has elastic straps for a blanket that came with it. But it makes a really good back pack for “hiking” so that is what it is used for at our house. Then when I was taking pictures of Peyton with the “back pack” on he started getting into doing poses. So we think he might be a male model! We tried to get him to do Blue Steel but he wouldn’t so I guess we will have to keep working on that!

Suzanne and Nevin had their baby in January so we were getting out Peyton’s blessing tuxedo for Caden to wear. Peyton asked me what is was and I told him. He said he wanted to put it on. You can see how well it fits! Cole said I should have had him to fat guy in a little coat, I didn’t think about it at the time. Where is daddy when you need him? I just thought about taking a picture!

If you can see it in this picture Peyton has cupcake crumbs all over his face. I made some cupcakes and he REALLY liked them. He can’t just take small bites of anything so as he was trying to shove the whole thing in his mouth it was getting everywhere. Then he said he was the cup cake man. So in the picture where his arms are in the air he was shouting I am the cup cake man! It was pretty funny, and would have been better if I had a video, but oh well.

Here is the little man coloring at a Miss Springville/Mapleton workshop. He had so much fun showing off for the girls that time that he wanted to go with me again to another rehearsal. He said he wanted to see the “Miss Springdill girls”. He told me the other day, “Mom, I know I live in Springville but I like to say Springdill.” He likes all the pretty girls and especially the one who has the crown.

Peyton was just being funny making cute faces here. He makes us laugh all the time with his funny personality. He said to me the other day, “Mom come over here and I will give you your options. You have to sit here and eat your lunch that is your only option”. I think I know how I must sound to him! The next day he said to Cole when we were in a store, “Dad you are not listening to me, I said don’t look at anything else!” I guess that is how Cole sounds? Never a dull moment with that boy around.

When I get him ready to take a bath I sometimes leave his shirt on his head, so this day he had “yellow hair”. He thinks it is really funny so he wanted to show dad and have us take a picture of him after he looked at himself in the mirror of course.

Here is just another example of Peyton being silly. He was helping me make something so I had him on the counter and got out a bowl to mix things in. I turned about to get something else and when I looked back he had the bowl on his head and said it was his hat. He has a great imagination so I think that was his hard hat for working. He also has an imaginary brother named Keylion, and an imaginary cat named Brand New Kitten. Don’t ask me where he comes up with these things but they make us laugh pretty hard usually.

Christmas ..... Late

Here is a look at our Christmas. Peyton was REALLY excited this year and knows what presents are all about now. At first he just liked the Christmas tree but after opening presents at Grandpa and Grandma Johanson's house a few weeks before Christmas he told Grandpa that opening presents was his favorite thing about Christmas. We let him open one present on Christmas Eve and he got his pajamas that he is wearing in the picture. He was really excited about the Christmas jamies and wants to wear them all the time. He got a "sound bike" from Santa Claus. It took him two weeks to decide it was okay to push the buttons himself. He is afraid of things that make sounds that he is not used to. He also got a lot of "Cars" things and that is always his favorite.

This is Peyton the robot. He got this little box and put it on his head and said he was a robot. We are not sure where he got that from, he has not really seen anything with robots he just has a good imagination!

This is Peyton wearing his "road dress". He got a mat with roads that he can drive his cars on for his birthday and he got it out and wrapped it around himself and said it was his road dress. Dad asked if he was a little girl and he said yes. Cole was so proud of him! We always wanted a little girl! Ha, Ha! In the video he was still wearing his road dress and wanted to sing "Jingle Bells" in front of the tree. That was one of the three songs he learned this year. He can also sing "We Wish you a Merry Christmas" and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". He loves music and likes to learn new songs all the time.

Merry Christmas

Last weekend, we went out to Duchesne for a Christmas party. Peyton was excited because he got to open presents early. Then, of course, he wanted to help everyone else open theirs. He's loving Christmas. While we were out there we took a new family picture.

Whatever was said here, to get Peyton to smile, worked a little too well. We think we were talking about gross things. He likes to talk about that for some reason.

We ended up with this one, it turned out well, we thought. (With a little work...)

Thanksgiving

We went to Enterprise for Thanksgiving. Peyton had a good time with his cousins. We had a good flag football game (Heather's team won) and ate way too much, of course. Heather got the insane notion to go on a 9-mile run with Stacey. She made it, but is paying for it now with a sore knee.

Now, we can finally put up the Christmas tree. Peyton has been excited to put it up, but we told him we had wait until after Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Heather is happy someone finally gets as excited as she does for Christmas.

We're teaching Peyton the important things in life, like how to pull funny faces.

And so far, this is all we can get Peyton to do with the potty.

Proud

Peyton likes to spell words, while he takes a bath. The other night he asked Heather to help him spell........

Yes, that's our son. He keeps us laughing.
