For the past 2 summers I have had to grow my "salsa" garden in pots. I have always had some kind of a garden to tinker in during the summer months. We love making and eating salsa, so I always plant all the ingredients. Since we made our journey to the Panhandle (and our first neighborhood) this hobby has become impossible. We are finally in the finishing stretch of building our new house. I am contemplating whether or not it would be a good idea to make my square foot garden containers? I'm afraid they will be destroyed by a big truck or something since our yard is not in yet. so when I came across this picture my mouth dropped and I salvated over it. Oh how I wish I could do something like this. Not only is it funtional, it is so beautiful to look at. I love how you put the grids over each individual square so you don' t step on any plants. Oh so pretty!

Easter Sunday
What a beautiful day we had. We awoke to sunny skies and beautiful weather. I couldn't help but think of the Savior and all that this holiday celebrates. We attended church, where we were so blessed to listen to spiritual talks, music and lessons on the Savior. How blessed I am to know of the life, atonement and the resurrection and of Jesus Christ. I stand all amazed at how much He loves me and my family. My heart is so full of love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the knowledge we have of being forever families.
Some good friends of ours invited us over for a "Greek Easter" dinner. Sissy is from Greece, and can she ever cook. You can imagine we were in Heaven!
Meredith even got in on the action and made the whip cream for the "four" desserts that Sissy prepared for us.
Needless to say, we had an awesome day. It ended by going back to the church for a fireside on the Savior. I couldn't have asked for a more spiritually fulfilling day.

A special event!
There are times in a mothers life when you are so proud of your children and the choices they make. Living in the mission field is challenging for kids, to say the least. But it also gives them the opportunities to grow and have to stick up for their beliefs on a daily basis. I wouldn't have it any other way. I know it is very difficult and not always popular, but it is what matters most. Today I am so proud that Walker has made the choices he has so that he is worthy to be ordained a Priest. He even has a friend that is taking the missionary discussions and has committed to being baptized. While talking to his friend the other day he said, "hey I could baptize you because I'll be a Priest!". It really touched my heart. We were fortunate enough to have Shelby's dad come for the ordination. He is a special part of our lives. We also had our new bishop, who is a close friend of ours, there too. I am very blessed!

Birthday Boy
For some reason my mobile blog was not working last week. I had a post up for walkers birthday and it never uploaded. So here's another try.
On March 28 Walker celebrated his 16th birthday. Now, having a boy is very different from girls. He didn't care anything about having a party. All he wanted was a new phone and his drivers license. Go figure!! We always go out for dinner to celebrate birthdays and Walker picked a Japanese steak house. I don't know why he did because he always get a terrible stomach ache when we eat at them. (I think it's an allergy to soy sauce) The picture below shows his immediate reaction to eating his dinner. Pain and more pain! Funny kid. We are so blessed to have him in our family. He brings lots of love, excitement, testosterone, and muscles into our lives. I've always said that he will make a great husband because nothing about the female species surprises him! We love him and are so grateful that the Lord gave him to us to have in our family and look forward to the day that he can serve a mission for Him. Happy Birthday Walker!!

School Happenings
The 5th grade did the neatest
thing last week. Each student had to pick a historical person and find facts about them. Then they had to memorize the facts the compiled about that person. On Thursday night they all lined up in the cafeteria and did a 'wax museum'. You had to step on their red button which was placed in front of each of them, and they would recite their memorized facts. It was amazing! Here's Claire.....she was Abigail Adams. And a very beautiful one if I do say so myself!
