School year 2022-2023

Another school year has begun! I can't believe how fast this summer went! It flew by! I feel like the kids just got out of school and today they began again! Overall they were ready and excited to go back and be with friends. I'm sad as always to have them gone all day as I feel like I don't get to see them often and that makes me sad. I pray it is a good year of growth and they can be a positive, happy influence in the lives of others this year and always.

Ella has entered her junior year and is taking Orchestra again and this year added Coral choir. She is excited to have a music filled schedule along with her 4 AP classes and Spanish.
Cavin is playing cello in the orchestra again and has decided to play football. He tried out as kicker and we should know soon which team he made. Football takes up all his time, so I hope it is a positive, happy experience for him.
Channing was SO excited to start today that she woke up at 4:30! She just loves school and being with her friends. She is taking dance, theatre arts, and choir as her electives. She is now at Timberwood Middle School and is in 6th grade. She is a big girl riding the bus and doing everything on her own.
Deacon is the solo child at Eagle Springs Elementary now. It is weird that he is the only child left there. He is in 3rd grade in Mrs. Zorkic's class.

Happy school year kiddos! I love you and can't wait to watch you succeed!

A visit from Hellmut and Ursula

This past week Hellmut and Ursula came for Deacon's baptism. We were able to try and get out and do a few fun things together.

We went to the Houston Interactive Museum to see and feed the animals.
Many of the animals were out, so we got to feed and pet several of them.
Channing made some cookies with Oma.
We got to go to the temple which was nice. We enjoy being able to go there together.
We got to participate in Deacon's baptism.
We went over to the pool as Deacon really wanted to swim.
We also went out to dinner to Culvers one night and to Los Cucos the last night.
We played Yatzhee, HiLo, 5 Crowns, and a lot of rounds of Skipbo.
The last day we went bowling which was fun.
We were so grateful they took the time to come and be with Deacon on his special day. We are grateful for the sacrifice of them coming over and for spending time with us. We always appreciate their visits.

Deacon's Baptism

Deacon was baptized on his 8th birthday, July 30, 2022. He has been excited for a year that his birthday was on a Saturday and he could be baptized on the same day. It was a beautiful, although hot day. He was ready and excited to be baptized.

Such a handsome kiddo!
He was able to be baptized and confirmed by his father.
I was so grateful that some of his cousins were able to join him in his special day.
He was extra lucky that both sets of his grandparents were there.
His Aunt Natalie and Uncle Chris came which I was grateful for. You can never have too many people who love and support you.
These 4 kids are incredible and I love how much they support one another. It makes my heart happy!
He had a great program and I was so grateful for those who participated. The talks were great and the kids did an amazing job on their musical number. He had a whole room full of friends and family and we were so grateful.
We took these baptism pictures the day of his baptismal interview with the bishop. His smile and beautiful blue eyes just makes me happy!
The baptism overall was beautiful. I'm so grateful that now all of my children have chosen to follow the Savior and be baptized.
