Am calling tomorrow night..

Been rather worn out over the past 2 weeks, cos of the unearthly surgical hours.. *think my body clock will never adapt to the surgical timings by the time Surg SIP is over! =P*

i mean, for the ward size and team list size, its sometimes a tad ridiculous to think that i could be so tired, so been trying to pinpoint exactly why i feel so drained..

- the early (and late) hours?
- there being only 2 HOs?
- erm.. things appearing in sequence so that u can't finish all of them at 1 shot and rest ur afternoon away?
- .. evening changes ++?
- staying back to read up on your patients so that you won't look stupid when ur consultant asks u to present the patient? (well, sadly it went to nought, and got grilled in another aspect by another consultant - and still died horribly. =(

And yes.. i am truly grateful for my wonderful HOs.. =)

A very basic question.

1 very basic question:

"Why, as SIP students, do we NOT have access to x-rays, whereas other Duke students can access x-rays?"

Is learning x-rays and CT scans not in our syllabus? Are we not supposed to function as "junior HOs"?

So "junior HOs" no need to read x-rays and CT scans lah.

Yes, pray tell. I'm all ears.

SGH SIP

Its first week into Urology SIP at SGH.. the workload's slightly less than Medicine previously, but with fewer pple to divide the work. The hours are typical for a surgical posting i suppose, so that means having less shut eye?

Am thankful for the very nice HOs.. =)

Mid-Autumn Festival @ Pearlly's House

Celebrated MAF this year @ Pearlly's house..

Photobucket

Quite the happy motley crew as we all congregated at her house for potluck and more mooncakes.

Just sitting outside her house at the tables, surrounded by the warm glow of paper lanterns and the even warmer glow of friendships.. with the occasional drifts of music and noise from the nearby RC's MAF party for the residents in the Thomson area..

Post-dinner movie features of Harold & Kumar, and Kungfu Panda, together with board games..

And it seems as if we're all back in any year other than our final year.

*Newsbite*

The class yahoogroups has certainly been pretty abuzz for the past week over certain issues. While knives might have been drawn and claws may have been sharpened, it is indeed truly heartening to note that calmer heads have prevailed amongst the vast majority of the population.

Who doesn't need/want a 2nd chance? We are all but human.

On that note, certain people disappointed me with their remarks and comments this week. Maybe they need a 2nd chance too?

Lichen Planus

Lichen Planus.

Indeed. That's gonna be the death of me. Sheesh.

Dermatology test is just over.. Was OK i suppose, though nothing's predictable.. Was quite a nervous wreck since I was the person to my station today, but i suppose it was ok...?

**********

anyway, on to happier things.. Am looking forward to GS SIP starting Monday at SGH! Hopefully it'd be as enjoyable as Med SIP at CGH.. =)

Meanwhile, on to a weekend of fun and excitement lined up.. =)

What's the currency value for an apology in these turbulent times?

Many things have been swept under the carpet, many a times. How much longer will it be before the carpet is no longer able to hide its ugly buldge beneath it?

Just chanced upon an entry on another friend's blog, which reflected a little of my current thoughts, but penned better than I could..

"Friends come and go.

Friends are like kites. You need to learn when to pull and let loose the string sometimes (because they can't be with you all the time), and these are the ones that will remain with you for a long time.

Some of them, when you first knew them, you keep in touch with them often. But as time goes by, you start to release the string of the kite. And when you realise it, they have drifted too far off, too far to come back again. These are the ones that you lose, the ones that you feel hard to catch up with because you've lost contact with them for some time, and they don't bother keeping in contact with you.

Some of them, are your good friends. But because of a matter, the string breaks, and the kite flies away, never to come back again, no matter what you do.When all these happens, and you think about them, how often do the other party think about you? But life goes on you see. To some of them, you may just be a statistic on MSN, a statistic on Facebook, a statistic in their ever-growing friends list."

2 hands. Never 1 hand.
