sometimes i get so weird
i even freak myself out
i laugh myself to sleep
it's my lullaby
sometimes i drive so fast
just to feel danger
i wanna scream
it makes me feel alive

is it enough to love?
is it enough to breathe?
somebody rip my heart out
and leave me here to bleed
is it enough to die?
somebody save my life
i'd rather be anything but ordinary please

to walk within the lines
would make my life so boring
i want to know that i
have been to the extreme
so knock me off my feet
come on now give it to me
anything to make me feel alive

let down your defenses
use no common sense
if you look you will see
that this world is
beautiful, accident, turbulent,
succulent, opulent, permanent
no way
i wanna taste it
don't wanna waste it away

anything but ordinary

i'm schleeeepyyy...so terribly schleeeeeepppyyyyy *groan* all coz i was a bad girl and stayed out way past my bedtime last night. boo.

here're some visuals from yesterday's outing that began at brewerkz, went on to MoS, and ended back on homeground in zouk.

was already traumatized by the night's preying monsters, but kris, tian and gracie didn't let me off when we're on the cab back home - they terrorized me and strapped me up with all the seat belts and sang scary songs. =S

*help* i'm going for a kiddycamp training in the arvo. *help* i need sleep. booo.

- ferry! ferry! ferry! -
so fantastic he deserves a post dedicated to him!

pre-ferry drink-up was at this quiet armpit of mohammed sultan
well done loon wei for finding/organizing this perfect boot party hideout!

when we finally got to zouk, ferry was simply AMAZING!!!!!!
i spent christmas night soaking in the magic conjured by
yes, none other than the godfather of trance! =)
he put me on a 6-hour rollercoaster ride to heaven
and i'm still lounging on the clouds right now.
plus i had a photo pass - coz i'm SPECIAL!

photos don't do the night of euphoric dancing justice.

"i want to make you feel...like you're on fiiirrrrreeeee..."
hope everyone had a fiery ferry christmas too!!!

photos photos! well, what did you expect? it was christmas - and festive seasons are photowhores' favorites!!!

on the night before christmas eve, my girlies (and a few boyies) and i went to catch the chronicles of narnia, which must have been one of the best ang-moh-trying-to-speak-hokkien-swear-words movie i've ever seen. it got a tad draggy and the kids couldn't really act for nuts, but kudos to the bitchy ice queen of narnia and the gorgeously wintery set. aslan was puurrrfectly handsome and totally made the movie worth every cent of my ten buckeroos.

we ended our midnight movie at around 2.30am, and went to check loof out after. didn't stay too long coz loof was closing for the night, but what little time i spent there was good - quite a comfy place with a view of jubilee hall and it's surroundings ('cept that raffles city's christmas lights were turned off, which was a pity):

loon picked up a cootie santa hat from somewhere, so i claimed it for the rest of the night (i didn't get cooties though - they all hopped on to loon's head before they could get to me).

the next day was christmas eve!!! i had dinner with the family so i missed out on janice's potluck, but i made it for the next get-together at one of kelvin's houses and counted down to midnight with my darlingest babes:

don't you just LOVE my santa hat?! i swear no one else in singapore has it (other than my swim kid coz i gave her one) MUAHAHA! (oh, so grown-up i sound).

we headed to an awesome boat party after, and got all hot and sticky while mingling with the pretty faces on board. music was pretty good to boogie to, but of course, what's more important was the company i kept:

*muack* love you all =)

thanks to loon for christmas pics, thanks to myself for narnia pics =P

of all the people in the world, why must the one who sits beside me on the bus be the stinko mad old man who didn't pay for his bus ride and smells like he's been dipped in fermented 10-year-old pee?

on a (less) sour note, i went home to an empty house yesterday, after a lonely and tiring day at work. i patiently waited for the appearance of my parents (and dinner) until i realized that the car's in the parking lot and it's already 8pm.

so i picked up the phone and called dad:
"hello. are you guys coming back for dinner?"
"hahaha guess where we are!"
"errrrr......"
"we're in jb! but we'll be coming home soon"
"but the car's here!"
"oh we took a bus! muahaha"
"what!? er...bleah...ok i'll cook noodles"

5 minutes later, the phone rang:
"hello jiejie, mummy says 'don't use the egg, it's spoilt'"
"BLEAAAAHHHHH"

i grabbed the keys and drove to sheng shiong to get eggs, mushrooms and minced pork. combine those with nissin tonkatsu noods and mmmmmm gourmet mee!

on yet another sour note, i'm all alone in the office today. again. boooooo.

where have all the good men gone
and where are all the gods?
where's the street-wise hercules
to fight the rising odds?
isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
late at night i toss and turn and dream of what i need

i need a hero
i'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
he's gotta be strong
and he's gotta be fast
and he's gotta be fresh from the fight
i need a hero
i'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
he's gotta be sure
and it's gotta be soon
and he's gotta be larger than life.

somewhere after midnight
in my wildest fantasy
somewhere just beyond my reach
there's someone reaching back for me
racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
it's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

up where the mountains meet the heavens above
out where the lightning splits the sea
i would swear that there's someone somewhere
watching me

through the wind and the chill and the rain
and the storm and the flood
i can feel his approach
like a fire in my blood

holding out for a hero

frou frou ~

went to siglap gelare last night after an excrutiating yoga session - mmm yum beer garden fried rice and rojak rounded off with a crispy hot waffle totally put my workout to waste.

tazzy - back from spinning around all over the world - made a trip down to join us:

we stayed till the gelare staff told us that they're closed, then the 5 of us owls (including one with "gastric pain") made our way across the road to continue our chat-session at beer garden.

a night of old pals and (relatively) new friends - sweet =)

PHOTATOES GALORE!!!!!! (you've been warned)

i went for a much-needed getaway in kl this weekend past and came home totally exhausted and broke. but it was fun fun fun!!! (sorry mucky, this' why i wasn't at your mad hatter's party!)

night 1
introducing 3 of hen and pecked's kids - sarah, isabel and amelia (the whales). the other 7 missed out.

we reached kl at around 1am and, after checking in to our huge 3-room apartment (woohoo we got the gigantous master bedroom!), made our way to zouk kl for some nick warren!

zouk kl's pretty much like zouk singapore, 'cept that the former's filled with mats in sunglasses (ala taufik batisah!). and malaysian men stare - like they've never seen the female species before *pokes some eyes out*

we headed to chee cheong gai for yummilicious roasted pork noods and lou xu fun after zouk closed at 3am sharp. mmm puuurrrfect supper - i ate so much i could barely move.

we got back to our apartments (did i mention it's huge and gracie, steff, deb and i got the MASTER bedroom? heeheehee) and slept after 6am, only to wake up at 9 for breakfast!

day 1
brekkie was sub-standard with even worse customer service. we ate at the executive dining room (coz it was full-house downstairs) and had to ask the waiter more than 8 times before they gave us clean sets of utensils and placemats. it didn't help that the aircon vents dripped water. but the omelette was decent...and the sausages (when they're hot).

we not-very-stealthily piled a plate full of food to bring down to the ones who weren't at brekkie. steff and kris' joint-effort paid off:

ck thoroughly enjoyed his er...breakfast.

we went shopping at klcc after, where i did my bank account a lot of damage by purchasing a pair of shoes and a pretty bag from lulu guiness - YAY!!! it's the first time i came across a 90% sale (for the shoes woohoo!) and paid so much for a bag (booooo! but it's so pweeetttyyyyyy).

shopping - my sole weakness. not.

sungei wan after for more shopping - this time round i didn't buy anything...till we got to the factory outlet store muahaha. lunch was at kim gary - mmm hongkee fooooood!

we're so hungry that tian almost ate me before the food came.

went back to the apartment for a bit of a rest after the whole day of walking around, and we took photos of the view of the petronas towers from our balcony:

dinner was at a fantastic beef slices and beef balls noods place - thanks to deb for bringing us there. *slurp*

night 2
we headed to poppy collection with full tummies (i think i had a full tummy the whole trip). poppy was sweet - a rather new bar/club place with good music and sprawly sofas.

it got so hot on the dance floor, so we found a fan and hogged it for the night muahaha

lotsa waterfalls that night (but none for sleepy me *thank god*). the tired ones (kris, ian, helly and i) left near 3am and went to lotus (near our apartment) for supper. the energetic ones danced on before going for bah kut teh. so exhausted i zonked out once i showered past 6am =S

day 2
up bright and early at 10am and all ready to check-out just after noon. we left our luggage with the conceirge then went to klcc for lunch (gracie, ian, steffy, ck and i enjoyed a wonderful arabian buffet complete with weird desserts, snorts and hamster squeaks) and more shopping (tian, kris and helly went mad trying on funny clothes).

we then squeezed into a buscab and headed to times square:

times square's huuuuugggggeeeeee. the massive shopping complex gave me a headegg and gracie, helly and i ended up getting massages at madam chan's foot refloxology - the body massage and foot reflex weren't too good, but it was an hour's rest for our tired bodies so i'm not complaining (much). heh

a baskin robbins ice cream and dinner of hokkien mee at petaling after, we went back to get our luggage then to the bus place to catch our ride home. true to our non-stop-eating selves, we brought ramlee burgers, guo ties, chicken wings, satays etc on to the bus. we also couldn't resist buying curly fries and a connie dog from a&w!!!

a&w should so come back to singapore.

the bus ride home was slllllloooooow and sleeeeepy but we finally got back at around 3am. i'm so glad i'm on leave today - i concussed on my comfy bed and only woke at 2pm for lunch. haven't left the bed much since. heh

dinner time! i'll leave you with 2 group shots:

all the other kuala lumpas - please send me photos!!! =)

it's 3.51am and i'm exhausted.
but can't sleep coz my mind's running a marathon.
a major screw-up today totally spoilt my mood.
and it's all my fault.
i hate trying to bring myself back on track,
then mucking up and it's back to square one (& worse) all over again.
sometimes i think i should just quit.
perhaps soon i won't even have that choice.

anyway...
mos pre-opening party

the place's a-maze-ingly big.
i love the pure room with its big beanbags and comfy cushies.
wonder how long they'll stay white.
didn't take many photos coz my cam died on me
(seems like an all-too-frequent occurance)
photos please, helly honey.
here are 3 of mine:

i am dreading the time i have to wake up.
i am dreading THE meeting.
i hate myself.

and i hate that stupid big black thing that's flying and creeping about in my room.

pride and prejudice
simply breathtaking.

sprawling countrysides
old-school romance
quick wit - such eloquence
ditzy sisters
a bitch of a mum
straitlaced poms
fiery passion
truths and lies
trust and hurt
love

left me speechless,
dreamy,
in aww.

if only life's such a fairytale,
and i am the lead actress.

this old-fashioned kinda girl's
wishing
hoping

----------
the girlies and i met up with hung before pride and prejudice last night, for some din tai fung with the-man-who-will-make-it-big. he's still studying, but he already has business plans and subsidiaries and whatnots. very well hung. oops i mean, well done, hung.

we even bumped into so-sweet-saipong at dtf, and got introduced to his joni! sweet!

and yes, everyone should watch pride and prejudice. *wistful sigh*

~ zoukout 2005 ~

god didn't stay to play long enough.
raindrops looked like diamonds in the sky.
i was dripping wet.
but rain dancing to armin was freezingly magical.
kebabs provided warmth.
hugs from wet t-shirted people didn't.
it wasn't exactly a super good zoukout,
but it's short and sweet since i only went in at 3am.
no photos coz my camera had to take shelter.
but here're some from before the madness began:

lovely, quiet, breezy carpark. *owners of photos that have me in them, please send!!!*

*update* the aftermath (thanks loony):

gracie and i waiting at the holland v cab stand. i was so dead =S but at least i had my jacket on heh

yesterday was also deedee's birthday!

got out of sentosa for a late dinner with them after i got my zoukout tag. too bad sis missed out.

friday night was supposed to be slow and quiet in preparation for zoukout. but i ended up having yet another late and tiring one after gym with the boys.

an 11pm dinner of scrumptious prawn and pork ribs bee hoon at smith street, followed by a photo-orgy in the car at the newton carpark:

*traumatized* haha

once bernz and helly joined us, we headed to mr moet's house, where the boys got smashed:

their non-stop drinking meant that i got to be the first person outside of the loon family to drive the new car *woohoo*

but it also meant a trip to zouk (where the winos puked and recovered in members'), and getting home at 3am - which is alright except that i had to coach at 10, and be at a work do from 2-5pm, then zoukout. =S

totally knocked out when i got home this morning at 9am. and i'm aching all over.

but at least i haven't got pneumonia. yet. =P

Friday, December 09, 2005

bloody busy today, trawling through all the work *pulls hair*
but that's that. the weekend's here woohoo!!!
armin - my god - here i come!!!!!! *prances about madly*

and...

doopz got me a new t-shirt and i'm lovin' it!
definitely lifted my spirits - thank you! =)

i think i'm, like, the queen of the photowhores.

photo diarrhea!!!!!! woohoooooo!

last night was madness! plans to have joo chiat crabs fell through when ck found out that the place's closed. BUT we ended up in ulu ang mo kio - place with the fugly ching chong cheenapoks - for shiokadoodle mellben crabs!!!!!!

mmmmm so yummy...these crabby friends shared my virgin mellben experience:

i think gracie wins. lucky pecked. arhaha

we ate so much we almost exploded in our mellben seats. headed to the airport thereafter, coz my jetsetting lil' sis' flying off to thailand and everybody gave in to my persuasions to go to the airport (instead of siglap) for drinks *yay* i have wonderful friends! *skips* haha

from terminal 1 (coz my sis flew off from there), we took the ni-noo-ni-noo-ni-noo (otherwise known as the skytrain) to terminal 2 for some swensens!

there's something about the airport that made us (er, gracie and i at least) go kinda crazy and picture-snappy. so many photo opportunities!!!

how long has it been since you last used a public phone?! mounted on such pretty colors too! (and my swensen's choc freckles ice cream's mmmmmelt-in-my-mmmmmouth yum!).

next, we walked by some lifts. very glassy, very sleek, very nice for photos. who cares about the millions of people who were walking past us? we're tourists! we have the passports to taking retarded shots!

i think we went up and down about thrice.

and whoever knew that the airport had animals?!?!

humanimals included. i actually do kinda look like the zebra/flamingo. and i say, gracie makes a mean baboon! arhaha

mellben must have put something in their crabs - it's no wonder we're on a high all night. =D
