Back Log

Log is an awesome word. Seriously, it makes me laugh every time I hear it or say it. I was looking for some pictures to post and realized I hadn't documented some fun things from December. So here you go!

We went to my parents' house (while they were in Utah) and watched the Newport Beach Boat Parade. I love it and was so excited to share with Ryan, Mia, and Isabel. Ryan's mom came with us, but stayed in the house to be warm. But you can still see it from their living room. Mia loved it and was so cute...she would yell "Merry Christmas!" to all the boats.

We also had the most awesome Ward Christmas party. Seriously. It was a Dr. Seuss/Grinch-themed breakfast. We were invited to wear our PJs (the girls and I did, complete with Whoville hair!) It was awesome! Mia wanted NOTHING to do with Santa and Isabel got on his lap and then was over it. Oh well.

The same day as the ward Christmas party, we headed to San Diego and the Hard Rock Hotel for Ryan's work party. They just finished building the hotel and had the grand opening the week of the party (with the Black Eyed Peas as headliners.) The hotel is super cool! We got a free room which we used for Grammy (Ryan's mom) and the girls to hang out in while we enjoyed the party. Here is my fun outfit from Forever 21. We did not stay the night so we would be at church. Getting out of the hotel at 10pm on a Saturday night was CRAZY. It is quite the hot spot. We waited for about 15 minutes just to get an elevator, waiting with 20 drunk people and the girls all had the shortest skirts EVER. Ryan and I would love to go back someday and enjoy it a bit more, but I don't think we'll take the kids.

Christmas was so much fun!!! The Bunches (my sister and fam) were across the street so it was a week-long party. We had breakfast together and the boys ended each day playing Guitar Hero III until the wee hours. I only wish they lived here all the time! And we were all super spoiled by Santa. I got a ton--new jeans, a cycling jacket (love it!), a cute hat (keep it in the car and wear it all the time), a red iPod shuffle (used it today to do the dishes), shoes (took them back and got 2 pairs for the price of 1!), oh and a DYSON vacuum! It is the BOMB and makes me want to clean my house. Isabel got her own vacuum because she loves mine. Mia got a cute kitchen, but her favorite was.....

Hammy the Hamster! (she took this picture herself) On the 23rd, she told us that she wanted a Pink Hamster for Christmas. That was it. Santa worked his magic and found this little guy. He is not pink because hamster aren't pink, but he did have a pink bow. He has a little wheel that he runs around in. She is obsessed, as you can tell.

Sweet

I just got busted by Ryan for not updating my blog, so I will share the awesome new triathlon suit I got at REI (on sale, and I probably won't keep it...) Can't you just see me now?

Funny story--at Joy School, the girls were learning about homes and families. They each had a little dolly for a baby. Merritt, Kate's mom and the teacher, told them to feed their babies. All four of them lifted their shirts and started nursing their babies! La Leche League would be so proud!

Go Team Spy-tech

In stalking other, random blogs, I came upon this. And I am super stoked and all over it! Right in my backyard for my first tri? Gotta love it! Kristin, you in?

Happy Birthday Isabel!

Can you believe this was me 1 year ago today?!? I know I can't. WOW how time flies!

The day we took her home from the hospital and my favorite 0-3 month outfit.

And Miss crazy, climber lady! She is my little twin and always attached to me. She loves her sister and is always trying to climb wherever she is (seriously, Mia was asleep and Isabel sneaked in there and climb into Mia's bed!) She is crazy! She is super smiley, but a little shy. She is smart and likes to figure things out. She is such a joy to our life and I cannot imagine her not in our family.

Mia's Wiggly Birthday Party

As promised many moons ago, here is the post about Mia's Wiggly Birthday Party. It was so much fun! Ryan was a great helper as I came up with all my crazy ideas.

Running around playing musical marks-on-the-floor.

Her present from us, a big girl bike! She loves it and it quite good at riding. Hasn't mastered getting on it, but she can get off.

I am sad because we did not get a picture of this, but it was Pin the Rose on Dorothy the Dinosaur (I drew it!) This was the eye covering for the older kids, which I also came up with:)

The girls dancing around to some Wiggles music!

And everyone took a nap...just kidding!! We played Sleep Dance, like freeze dance, but you had to sleep like Jeff. WAKE UP JEFF!! This one was hilarious!

Everyone got they own guitar to decorate. Then we watched a video and "played our guitars with Murray!"

And the cake with the wiggly candles:) Other games not pictured were Pass the Parcel, kind of like hot potato, but you pass around a gift and when the music stops, that person gets to unwrap one layer.

We also listened to this personalized Birthday Wiggles CD I got for Mia. She loved it! It was a ton of fun and she got LOTS of presents too!!

I am not dead

What happens is I stop blogging for a bit because I am boring. Then I get overwhelmed with all the stuff I haven't blogged about and I am too lazy to catch up...but I will try.

Here's Ryan and I earlier this month after completing a 5k in our community. He rocked it finishing in 25 minutes and I did my first 5k in 29:30 (under 30 minutes!). I am now training for a super-sprint triathlon on March 8th in Pasadena and then will train for the Camp Pendelton 10k Mud Run on June 7th. Ryan, Mike, our friend Debbie, and possibly my sisters Boo & Megan will join me on the Mud Run.

We had a FABULOUS Christmas with the Bunches right across the street. And JoJo and Robert here with the Baby Monster, Peter. Now the Krazy Ks are visiting (Liz, Alex, and the baby sheep, Joseph). I love my family!!!!!!!!!! More pictures and fun soon! I PROMISE!
