We're back!

We are safe and sound back in L.A. We had a great time in Utah, playing with everyone and packing things up. I will post more of an update after a nap!

Utah here we come!

Mia, my Mom, and I are headed to Utah tonight on very short notice. My parents sold their house in FarmTown and we are going to help clean it out and get what's left into storage. We are also excited to see everyone and I know Mia will love playing with all her cousins. We are sad to leave Daddy behind, but it looks like he will have a busy week at work.

This is a picture of Mia at lunch, eating outside in the "cold." Hopefully she won't be frozen tomorrow!

Fat Lip

Poor little Mia has her first, big fat lip. She is walking a lot more these days, testing the waters. But she fell and hit her lip on the laundry basket and I think bit her lip at the same time. It was bloody all over my shirt and she was sad:( I will take a pic tomorrow and post it. And now for a couple funny things from the past few days...
On Friday, we went with Ryan to his eye Dr apt. Just the regular check-up, but it took forever. Ryan filled out his patient history and one of the questions was "Do you drive?" He answered "No," so the nurse was all confused. I laughed so hard! He somehow thought it meant do you drive to work?
Saturday, Ryan worked in the morning and then surprised us by coming home in the afternoon having finished. We ran some errands and tried to get the console/sofa table that we have wanted and been searching for forever! Nothing is quite right which is soo frustrating!
Sunday was church with a wiggly Mia keeping us in the halls for most of the block. Then we had our dinner group at the Millers (Josh & Valerie, son of Allen & Evonne) and played Pictionary. Ryan and I both kicked some booty.
Today, we did some major cleaning and laundry before Ryan had to go to work. We put what needed to be done on little bits of paper and drew from a bowl for jobs. Ryan did both bathrooms (amazing job!) and the living room. I did our bedroom, Mia's room, and the kitchen. It is nice to have a super clean house! Tonight, we had dinner at one of our favorites, Barney's. It is originally from SF and we would go there all the time. Yummy chicken sandwich on wheat with avocado! Now I am cheating on the Olympics and waiting for the Bachelor Reunion. And trying to get a flight to go to Utah with my mom this week to help as they sold their house. It will be sad to see 1522 Stayner Dr go.

Leo's Flowers and this day suck

First for Leo's flowers...Ryan ordered me a beautiful bouquet (that word is weird) of roses (not cheap on Valentines Day). I came home last night to a delivery which I loved, but it was not correct. With a satisfaction guarantee via FTD, he called in the morning to request a refund. The lady at Leo's Flowers was rude to him until she finally said ok, bring the incorrect delivery in. Of course, I had to do it in BFE West Hollywood. I go in and tell her the situation and give her all the confirmation and info he gave me. She is all rude with me and wants the receipt. I tell her that this is the receipt as it was done online. Then she can't do it because the full credit card # isn't there (for our protection, it just shows the last 4-digits). I show her this and give her my card, but she still wants the receipt. She finally attempts to do a refund on the credit card machine, but now it asks for an authorization code. She asks me where that is on the email info and I can't find it. She is all rude with me again and says she is just trying to give me my $$ back. I tell her this is all the info I have and should need, but I will call FTD. Unfortunately, the # on the email info was for Leo's, so when I called it, she answered. Finally, I gave up and said I would take the flowers and the info and be back with her. Then this very nice worker guy came over and said, kind of spy-tech and out of Mrs. Rude's way, that he knew how to handle it and has done this before. He will take care of it and call me when it is done. So I left so P.O.'ed and ready to rumble.

Last night was HORRIBLE with Mia, as she is sicky. She was up every hour and took forever to get back to sleep. It was like the first few weeks after she was born. And today she was a pill and a half and would not take a nap longer than 30 minutes. I finally put her in her crib to relax and cry it out for awhile as I tried to calm my nerves. We took a long walk to blow off steam and I ruined my diet that I have been really good on since Jan. 1 and hit Starbucks. It was sooo worth it!! But then driving for dinner with Ryan was a nightmare and he is on a new deal that closes Wed, so all hope for any time this "holiday" weekend to go relax in Newport is over. Never plan anything or hope for anything as a banker's wife because then you won't be disappointed.

Sorry to go off, but that was good therapy for me. Now I am going to cheat about the Olympics and see if I really have to watch or not. Thanks for reading.

Happy Valentines Day!

This is Mia in one of her gifts, a new chair for the baloncy. She loves it because she can get in and out of it all by herself. (This was yesterday, but she was dressed for the occasion.)These are her special new PJs that have a heart with "Daddy" in the middle. She truly does love him!
Again in her chair with her full, red outfit for the day.
Here is Ryan after noticing his heart attack (our house decor in our house is very convenient today!)
Happy Valentines Day! I hope you are having a day full of love. I woke up to great gifts from Ryan, who, as always, went way overboard. He then had a meeting at 8am, so Mia and went into action and cleaned and set-up a Heart Attack. He called for me to come down and meet him, but I asked him to come up and help me. He walks in the door totally in the zone and doesn't see anything! I told him to look up and he was soo excited!! What a surprise! Here are some pictures of our Valentines' Day celebrations so far!

Oh what a beautiful day! (And we love Maama)

Wednesday, Maama (my Mom) came up to play with us. We went to Target which was a joy except when we tried to buy an adorable Osh Kosh dress, but couldn't because it had a recall. Whatever! Then we had lunch at our favorite place, California Chicken Cafe (Thanks Lisa!). We walked around our neighbor (with a stop at Seagull Book) and gawked at all the $1 million 3-bedroom, teeny houses. Here is Maama and Mia with the cute monkey and pink boots, from Maama, both of which Mia loves!

Mia and I went to the beach with some friends today. It was her first SoCal beach day and I was a bit nervous about sunburn and sand-eating. But she did great and even kept her day on. She loved playing in the sand with a shovel and didn't eat too much. There weren't quite as many people at the beach as in this picture, but I forgot my camera in the car. I will post a picture soon.

Back from the dead

I am very happy to remote that the remote started to work last night! It was such a pleasant surprise, but kind of a bummer after I ordered the new one for $15. But at least I will always have a back-up.

Bummer

We got our new washer and dryer which is great. But they are exactly the same as our old ones as in super small. I guess my Laundry Day will continue with at least 5 loads. (Loads, heehee).

I also broke our DireTV remote today by accidently getting hot chocolate on it (also spilling it on myself which did not feel great). I am so sad because now I have to do it old-school style up on the receiver. Mia runs when I open up the glass cabinet and wants to touch anything and everything she can get her hands on. I try as hard as I can to get to a channel and make sure I am ready to stay on that channel for a long time. The new one will come in up to 3 days (sad!!) via FedEx.

Trying to start again

So I am a little slow at this, but I am determined to keep it up just like Mia is trying to draw in this picture (just don't tell her that the pen is not "clicked" on!)

Today, Mia and I wanted to go to Music Makers where she loves to sing and dance, but we just didn't make it. So we headed to the car wash and for a Diet Coke for Mommy. Then back home to attempt to clean the messy house. We also got the exciting news that our washer and dryer that are broken won't be fixed, but we will be getting a whole new set! Hopefully, they will be a bit bigger and I can do less than 6 loads on Laundry Day (check back on Thursday).

We are now hanging out, updating my blog, and thinking of what to do next. What an exciting life I lead!!

Flashback

I started this blog, but never really got it started. But since I check my friends' blogs every day to check for new posts, I figured this might keep me busy.

Today we went to Olivera Street with my sister-in-law and nephew. It was a flashback to our Spring Break trips to Ensenada when I was growing up, and for Ryan it was like being back on his mission. Mia liked looking around at all the colors, but did not like the loud drums and dancers in the square. We went early and came home for lunch & naps then went to the park. Mia loves the sand and climbing up the slide. She also laughs on the swing and loves watching all the other kids.
