Lazy Sunday Afternoon

We have had a great Sunday. Today was our ward's Primary Program. It was the first and last to include all four of my children! It was so strange to sit alone with Brad. They all did well and it was a nice program. I have often taken Sunday pictures on the way out of the door to church but today I decided to capture the peace of Sunday afternoons. We all love the slower pace of Sundays and the opportunity it gives us to be together with little distraction. Today Natalie has been busy with markers and Tinker-Bell. Natalie loves coloring much more than any of the boys. She got a desk for her birthday this year and can be found quite often filling her coloring books.

Hyrum is fond of hanging out and loves to observe what everyone else is doing. This afternoon he is content waiting for scripture study and our evening walk.

Harker was excited to put his last Primary Program behind him. He is not fond of singing and is ready to hang out with the older boys. He and Hyrum both love to read and Grandma Westhoff just sent them some books that they can not put down.

Nathan is intent on sabotaging Brad's afternoon nap. Brad doesn't seem to mind.

Catch-up Time

Harker earned the Arrow of Light Award in June but had to wait to receive it until the first Pack Meeting of the school year. They had an outdoor ceremony and dinner, it was really nice. The Arrow of Light is the highest award in Cub-Scouts and you can even wear it on your Boy Scout Uniform. He worked hard for it and we are very proud of him.

Last Saturday our ward held a day of service. We cleaned a local cemetery and took pictures to upload to a site that facilitates family history work. The kids were fascinated with the cemetery as a whole. Hyrum found the grave of a baby that only lived four days and was disturbed by it. Natalie got to work filling in prairie dog holes, Nathan played in the dirt, raked, and sprayed water on the head stones so Brad could take pictures and Harker said he picked up "about a billion" beer bottles. As we were walking out Nathan exclaimed, "So...Mom, this is were people get resurrected huh...!"

Nathan brought me the camera the other day and told me "Take a picture of me hugging you!" How could I resist?

Halloween is way too far away for this guy. He has been wearing this ninja costume most of the day and I just know I am going to have to bribe it off of him. His favorite part of the day was picking up Natalie and Hyrum from school as he ate up all of the attention from the elementary students.

First Jam Session

Harker and his good friend Noah are in the band class at their middle school. They have finally acquired their instruments and all of their equipment. We actually got very lucky and found a trumpet for Harker at a pawn shop. They are so excited. Harker came home today and asked if Noah could stay so they could practice together. It is so cute. I know cute is not the right word but I love it. The noises coming from the room are so...cute and they look so...cute.

Natalie's First Manicure

I took this photo of Natalie getting her first manicure back on August 9th, but forgot to post. She is such a little lady.
