Planes, Trains, and Automobiles to Denver!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend trip to Denver! We had a great time visiting family and the travel was quite exciting too! The kids loved the plane rides and they also had fun with all of the shuttles, elevators, escalators, moving walkways, trains, and of course the "cool rental car."

The kids did really well and after having taken them all the way to Hawaii last year, this trip was a piece of cake. We even had the whole going through security thing down. Nathan took his last trip as a lap child and that is probably a good thing as he is getting big and hard on my back. I kept him busy for most of the flight by finding all the animals in the SkyMall magazine and playing with the ice and cups from our in flight drinks. The trip back down to land put Nathan to sleep both times. As soon as he felt the first little decline his eyes would droop closed and he was gone.

The planes that we rode on were only four wide so Harker was in a row all by himself. He did a great job and I was very proud of him. We tried to get Hyrum to do it but the idea of sitting by a stranger was more than he could handle, even bringing him to tears. Harker took the opportunity to show off his great bravery.

We traveled light, each with a backpack and no checked luggage. Natalie insisted on carrying her backpack the whole time. She also walked the whole way and the only time she threw a fit was when we got on the plane home and her anticipated window seat did not exist. She was mad! A snack and her thumb help her get over her disappointment.

When we got to Denver we picked up our rental van. Brad has a gold card from Hertz because of work so we were able to go right to our car and the keys were waiting for us in the ignition. That was so nice, no wait! I will post more picture from our trip soon.
